OVW TV 1176: Making an IMPACT!

This is the OVW Report for Thursday, February 24, 2022.

TONIGHT:
-The OVW National Champion Jessie Godderz & OVW Heavyweight Champion Ryan Howe team up to face respective #1 contenders Mahabali Shera & Omar Amir!
-Special appearances from IMPACT! Heavyweight Champion Moose and Knockouts Champion Mickie James!
-In Women's action: OVW Women's Champion Freya the Slaya teamed up with Arie Alexander last week, but goes 1-on-1 with her this week, plus Olivia Devine returns to action against Charlie Kruel!
-In tag team action: Level X meets up with the OVW Tag Team Champions Dark Kloudzthe Outrunners step in the ring with Dysfunction, and Bankroll goes to battle with Southern Discomfort!
-Plus, OVW Kentucky Champion Luscious Lawrence faces Jackson Stone, Big Zo goes to battle with Matt VineCrixus is in action, Rush Division Champion Star Rider is in action, and much more!

Eric Cornish & Linda Kay are the ring announcers.

"Flawless"
 Jake Lawless vs. "Rudo" Raul LaMotta.
Jake tries to hit Raul with some chops, but Raul chops back, then pulls him out of the corner. He rakes his back and locks in a submission. Jake gets free and dropkicks Raul off the ropes. He locks up the arm, but Raul fires out with some big rights. He hits some back elbows and an inverted atomic drop. He clotheslines him and goes to lock in a submission, but Jake pokes him in the eye. He hits Crossroads for the 3.
WINNER: LAWLESS by pinfall.

"Hollyhood"
 Haley J & Dream Girl Ellie vs. 
"Chemical X"Kolbe Max & Judi Hendrix.
Quick tags from both sides early. Haley gets thrown hard toward X's corner and they double suplex her. Haley gets a hot tag to Ellie. Ellie fires away and covers Judi, but Kolbe breaks the pin. Haley gets in and hits her finisher on Kolbe as Ellie fights to the outside with Judi for the 3.
WINNERS: ELLIE & HALEY J by pinfall.

"The Nephilim"
 D'mone Solavino vs. "The Sadist".
Sadist with a headscissors, enziguri, and cannonball. D'mone comes back and works over both arms. D'mone catches him with a knee to the midsection off the ropes. He locks him in a stretch submission. Sadist works out and pulls D'mone's arm across the top rope. He locks in a Crossface, but D'mone gets to the ropes. D'mone with a Russian leg sweep, then locks him in Locked in Purgatory for the tapout.
WINNER: D'MONE by submission.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):
Bryan Kennison, Dancin' Stevie J, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish & Linda Kay are the ring announcers.

"Dysfunction"
: Brandon Espinosa & "The Iron Bear" Tom Coffey vs. 
"The Outrunners": Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd.
Espy wants a handshake. Truth rolls him up instead for 2. Espy returns the favor. All 4 men end up in the ring. Dysfunction wants them to join them. They get hit instead, but the Outrunners miss hitting them off the ropes and miss some dropkicks. Both teams try to cheat and the ref has to try and get Floyd & Tom back in their corners. Espy is trying to take off the top turnbuckle while Floyd goes around the ring and starts brawling with Tom on the outside. The ref catches Espy, but Truth comes over and rolls him up with a handful of tights for the 3.
WINNERS: OUTRUNNERS by pinfall.
After the match, Dysfunction attacks the Outrunners. Level X runs out and they super kick Dysfunction and send them running.

"The Candidate for a Brighter Future in Wrestling"
 Koda Jacobs vs. Crixus.
Koda comes out saying things are looking up for OVW due to people like him, not up and coming prospects like Crixus. Crixus headbutts him and knocks him out cold for the 3.
WINNER: CRIXUS by pinfall.

"Southern Discomfort"
: Jebediah Blackhawk & Snake Williams Jr. vs. 
"Bankroll": "Big Money" Dimes & Ca$h Flo.
Discomfort attacks Bankroll to start off, but Bankroll quikcly takes control. Ca$h kicks and chops Snake. Dimes comes in with a legdrop. Ca$h then tags in and picks Dimes up for a legdrop across Snake again. Jeb tags in, but doesn't fare much better to start. He ends up clubbing Dimes down, but Dimes comes back with a Change Maker for 2. Snake breaks the pin, but gets knocked out of the ring. Ca$h tags in and hits the Mega Payload for the 3.
WINNERS: BANKROLL by pinfall.

IMPACT! Knockouts Champion 
Mickie James is out. She says when she heard Louisville was the next stop for IMPACT! Wrestling, she had to visit her old stomping grounds. She says she loved being in between these 4 walls from 2003-2006, from Alexis Laree to "Hardcore Country". She says she will successfully defend her Knockouts Title at Sacrifice, then invites everyone to party at 4th Street Live!
IMPACT! World Champion
Moose interrupts her and says she just wouldn't stop talking so he could be introduced. He says she might have trained here, but he doesn't know how in this dump of a town.
Omar Amir interrupts and says Moose will not talk down in his house. He steps up to Moose, but Moose says it doesn't work that way. He says he will find him an opponent and if he beats him, maybe he can get in the ring with the Wrestling God. They have a staredown and Mickie tries to keep them separated.

Linda Kay interviews Bankroll backstage, but they are attacked by Dark Kloudz. Deget Bundlez uses a lead pipe and Eric Darkstorm uses a crowbar to beat down Ca$h Flo.

Charlie Kruel
 vs. Olivia Devine.
Kruel offers pop tarts to Olivia. They're rejected, and she fires away at Olivia. Olivia throws her off and finishes her pretty quickly after a faceplant for the 3.
WINNER: DEVINE by pinfall.

OVW Tag Team Champions 
"Dark Kloudz""Hustler" Deget Bundlez & "Elusive" Eric Darkstorm vs. 
"Level X""Unforgettable" Axton Ray & "The Sultan of the Sky" Blanco Loco.
Eric throws Loco to the corner, but runs into a double boot. Loco & Ray with some quick tags working over Eric. He tags to Deget, Deget misses a clothesline, and Level X rams him into their corner. They then hit him with double kicks to the back of the head, then double dropkicks to the side of his head from the apron. Loco goes off the ropes, but Eric pulls the ropes up and Loco falls to the floor. They take control and work over Loco, hitting him with a running boot and uppercut as he's seated in the corner. Loco is choked in the ropes. Eric goes to leap across his back, but he moves and Eric gets hung up in the ropes. He tags Deget and they hit a double facebuster on Loco. Loco escapes their corner and tags Ray. Ray flips over Eric and Matrixes under a swing. He hits him with a running knee, then tags Loco. They hit a double team flying elbow drop for 2 as Deget breaks the pin. Ray tosses Deget from the ring and they go for the Level Up, but Dysfunction comes out and attacks them.
WINNERS: LEVEL X by DQ.
Dark Kloudz & Dysfunction gang up on Level X until Bankroll runs out to make the save.

OVW TV (HOUR 2):
Bryan Kennison, Dancin' Stevie J, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

We see Star Rider entering the building, then getting attacked by Gustavo.

"Double A"
 Arie Alexander vs. OVW Women's Champion "The Queen of the North" Freya the Slaya.
Arie tries to fire away, but Freya throws her off. She takes her down with a Samoan drop and 3 big legdrops. She covers for 2, but then pulls Arie up. She's not done. She hits Arie with 4 chokeslams, before shoving the ref out of her way.
WINNER: ARIE by DQ.
After the match, Freya hits Arie with a 5th chokeslam. Olivia Devine comes out and clotheslines and big boots Freya and says she's coming for her.

We see Star Rider exiting the restroom saying he knew Gustavo wouldn't follow him in there. Gustavo shows up behind him and attacks him again.

Big Zo (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) vs. 
"Goodfella" Matt Vine. 
Vine with a quick start, knocking Zo from the ring. Zo gets angry and hits him outside at ringside. Back inside, he slams Vine and hits the Are You Serious legdrop. He locks in a submission. Vine tries to get free, but gets hit with a belly-to-belly suplex. Zo goes for the Zo bomb, but Vine rolls out of the way. Vine kicks Zo down and sets up for a super kick. Zo blocks it, then hits the cartwheel butt bump and back elbows. He goes up and connects with the Zo bomb for the 3.
WINNER: ZO by pinfall.

In the back, Haley J talks Luscious Lawrence into defending the Kentucky Heavyweight Title against Tony Bizo at March Mayhem. He agrees to it.

We see Ryan Howe playing his guitar and Star Rider entering his locker room on the lookout for Gustavo. Gustavo comes out of a locker, attacking Star again

"The Suplex Shogun"
 Jackson Stone vs. Kentucky State Champion "Mr. Juicy" Luscious Lawrence (w/"Hollyhood" Haley J).
Shogun starts clubbing Luscious, but Luscious comes back with a cross body off the ropes. Shogun charges, and Luscious pulls down the top rope. He butts him off, then hits a running butt off the apron. Back inside, Shogun hits him with a German suplex, then a t-bone suplex. Luscious catches him with the face-to-butts in the corner. He hits the Fameasser, then nails the One Night Stand for the 3.
WINNER: LUSCIOUS by pinfall.

Nate Bock vs. Rush Division Champion 
"The Star of the Show" Star Rider.
Bock takes the fight to Star early, but Star comes back with a dropkick into the corner. He stomps him, then hits a suplex. He goes up top and hits Orion's Belt for the 3.
WINNER: STAR by pinfall.
After the match, Gustavo attacks Star again. They fight around the ring and Star grabs a mic. He says he told Gustavo last week that this thing between them is over. He challenges him to finish this next week with a scaffold match and Gustavo accepts.

OVW National Champion "Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz (w/Shannon the Dude) & OVW Heavyweight Champion "Rockstar" Ryan Howe vs. 
"The Indian Lion" Mahabali Shera & Omar Amir.
Omar & Shera take the fight to Howe & Jessie early, so they try and regroup on the outside. Omar finally grabs Howe by the hair. Howe pulls him down across the top rope and Jessie tags himself in to lock in a side headlock. Omar delivers a backdrop. Shera & Howe both tag in and Shera hits him with a hard suplex. Omar & Shera with a double clothesline and Jessie jumps off the apron as they make a move at him. Omar gets taken down and double teamed by Howe & Jessie as the ref tries to get Shera in his corner. Howe works over Omar's arm. Jessie runs in and hits Shera off the apron to keep Omar from making the tag. Omar hits a Samoan drop on Howe, but Jessie tags in and stops him from the tag. Howe tags back in and has Omar in a sleepr, but Omar slings him off. He tags Shera. Shera with a huge slam and shoulder tackle. Jessie avoids Shera and Shera chokeslams Howe for 2 as Jessie breaks the pin. Shera double clotheslines Howe & Jessie. Omar tags in and hits Howe with Island Time as Jessie leaves up the ramp for the 3.
WINNERS: SHERA & OMAR by pinfall.

This ended the TV taping.
