OVW TV #734: "Welcome Back to the NEW TV Champion"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, September 11, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, OVW Southern Tag Team Champions Michael Hayes & Mohamad Ali Vaez were in action, Flash Flanagan defended the TV Title against a former TNA/WWE Superstar and OVW alumni, Moose returned to action, a special announcement regarding the future of the OVW Women's Title, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Clint Poe vs. Aaron Sky.
Poe slings Aaron down. Poe kicks Aaron in the corner, charges at him, but Aaron with a boot. Aaron jumps off the ropes with a double axehandle and gets the pin following a flying body press off the top rope.
WINNER: SKY by pinfall.

Yaden Matthews vs. "Strongest Gamer Alive" Marcus Anthony.
Marcus hits and slams Yaden. Yaden tries to fight back, but Marcus comes right back and finishes him off with the Gamma Punch for 3.
WINNER: MARCUS by pinfall.

4M: "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus (w/The Bodyguy) vs. Stephon J. Baxter III.
Stephon gets a little offense going early, but gets tripped up by the Bodyguy. 4M capitalizes and puts him away for 3.
WINNERS: 4M by pinfall.

"VIP" Joe Rosa (w/Roberto De Luna & J. Best) vs. Rockstar Spud.
Rosa says he knows everyone came to see him wrestle, but Best will be fighting tonight. Spud kicks Best from the ring and knocks Roberto off the apron. He pulls Rosa in and dropkicks him and kicks his leg. Spud is tripped by the VIP Club. Rosa takes control and slams Spud, but misses the V-I-P legdrop. Spud bulldogs Rosa. Best gets on the apron to distract the ref and Roberto grabs Spud. Rosa goes to hit Spud, but hits Roberto. Spud takes Rosa down, but the VIP Club attacks for the DQ. Spud fights them off as Rosa returns to the back.
WINNER: SPUD by DQ.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. We see Tony Gunn and Randy Royal in Danny Davis' office. Danny says Randy better show up for his match tonight or he's fired. He tells Tony that's the best he can do.

"The Mobile Homers" Adam Revolver & Ted McNaler (w/Brittany Devore) vs. Mohamad Ali Vaez & Michael Hayes
Quick tags in and out as Ali & Hayes work over Ted's arm. Hayes with a drop toehold to Ted followed by a kneedrop from Ali. Ali with a drop toehold and Hayes with an elbow drop to Ted. They deliver double hip tosses to Ted and then Adam who runs in. Ali dropkicks Ted, but hurts his knee. Ted takes advantage and then makes quick tags in and out with Adam, as they work over Ali's knee. They hit a double shoulder tackle off the ropes and Ted locks in a Figure 4. Ali reverses, but Ted gets to the ropes. Both men make tags. Adam charges at Hayes, but Hayes moves. Hayes drops Adam and kicks his leg. He slams Adam and headbutts him in the chest. Hayes locks in a Figure 4, but Ted dives in on Hayes to break the hold. Ali gets back in and knees Ted in the head. Hayes hits the knee to the face of Adam and Ali hits the neckbreaker for Hayes to get the 3.
WINNERS: ALI & HAYES by pinfall.
After the match, Ali & Hayes say they are still champions although they would have really enjoyed winning the trophy and the $5000 that goes with winning the Nightmare Cup.
Marcus Anthony comes out and says that he & Rob Terry will take the titles from them once Rob gets his work visa cleared up. He said right now he wants Jay Bradley to remember that they have some unfinished business.
Marcus leaves and the Best Team Ever comes out. They say that they don't believe Ali & Hayes are worthy of being tag team champions and the only reason they are is because they have yet to face them.
The Marauders are out next and they say that their fate in the Nightmare Cup was due to Josh Ashcraft being a puppet of the Furions, who were aligned with the higher-ups in OVW. Ali & Hayes tell them they should have a match next week and the winning team can face them at the next Saturday Night Special for the titles.

The Marauders stay in the ring for Flash to defend the TV Title.
OVW TV TITLE: Flash Flanagan (w/Shiloh Jonze, Joe Coleman, Raul LaMotta, & Nick Dumeyer) [c] vs. "The Pope" Elijah Burke.
A surprise return of Elijah Burke (the former D'Angelo Dinero in TNA) who was welcomed back with "Welcome Back" and "Pope" chants. Elijah tries to quickly roll up Flash twice. Flash hits Elijah, but Elijah grabs Flash and rams his head into the turnbuckle 10 times. Elijah fires away as the Marauders distract the ref. Flash is able to knock Elijah down. He slingshots Elijah's neck under the bottom rope. He locks in a sleeper, but Elijah gets out and hits a backdrop. Elijah hits and back elbows Flash. He hits a running forearm and elbows Flash in the head. He slams Flash and connects with a flying elbow drop, but Flash kicks out at 2. He sets up for the Elijah Express, but Coleman pulls Flash out of harm's way. Elijah hits Coleman, Shiloh, & Raul off the apron. Dumeyer sneaks in the ring with the kendo stick and tries to throw it to Flash, but launches it too far. Elijah knocks him from the ring and hits a codebreaker on Flash for the 3!.
WINNER and NEW OVW TV CHAMPION: ELIJAH by pinfall.

Jay Bradley is looking out the window as the Bodyguy & 4M peek up from behind a big screen TV. They tell Jay if he sees "the man in the mask" to warn them as they hide back down. Paredyse & Eddie Diamond are then seen talking about what happened at SNS between them, Timmy Danger, & Moose.

James "Moose" Thomas (w/Timmy Danger) vs. Eddie F. Diamond.
Moose totally dominates EFD for most of the match. EFD gets a quick hit of offense in and goes after Danger. Moose grabs him and throws him back inside. He hits the Moose Kick, knocking EFD out, but continues to wail away on him, forcing the ref to call for the bell.
WINNER: EFD by DQ.
Paredyse runs out to make the save. Moose takes a mic and says he is all about loyalty. He is loyal to this building, loyal to these people, and loyal to his friends, unlike Diamond. Paredyse wants Moose i the ring next week.

Backstage, the Mobile Homers talk about being down on their luck. Adam says losing to the champs was their last chance to get in the title hunt, and now they will have to work their way up from the bottom. Ted is still playing the lottery to try and change their luck. Evan Markopoulos walks by Dylan Bostic and they have a small confrontation. Evan says Dylan didn't beat him, Dylan beat Aaron Sky, and he did it holding the tights. They will also meet next week.

Gilbert Corsey has a major announcement regarding the future of the OVW Women's Title. He brings out the Blossoms, Taeler Hendrix, & Lei'd Tapa. He says since the title was vacated, and they were the final 4 in the beach bunny bikini battle royal, they will meet next week. For the first time ever, we will see a fatal 4 way Women's LADDER match for the vacated title! He talks to each of the participants. The Blossoms want to prove why they moved from England to become successful, Taeler says she is already the queen of OVW, and Tapa makes Gilbert bow down and says that this is her ring, her island, and she will dominate!

Backstage, Jamin Olivencia is interviewed by Shannon the Dude. Jamin says he boomsticked Jay Bradley at SNS and said the world is not ready for him, but he is ready for the world.

STREET FIGHT: "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal vs. Tony Gunn.
Gunn hits Royal with the metal rod and then takes off his sling. He dives out on Royal. He chases Royal around the ring. Royal grabs a trash can lid and hits Gunn. He sets up a table, but Gunn stops his momentum from running into it. He fires away, but Royal hits him and connects with a DDT. He grabs a staple gun, but Gunn spears him and fires away on him. Royal tries to leave, but Gunn follows him to the back. You hear a loud boom in the back and Royal walks back out with a toilet seat on his head. Royal hits Gunn and throws him into the wall. Gunn comes back and throws Royal across the barricade and then hits him with a trash can. Back inside, Gunn hits a superplex off the top rope through a table for the 3.
WINNER: GUNN by pinfall.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Taeler Hendrix, Lei'd Tapa, & Ray Lynn vs. Lovely Lylah, Hannah & Holly Blossom.
Ray Lynn comes out with a Tapa poster and imitating Tapa. Tapa finally gets fed up and gives her a big boot. Tapa walks out as Taeler argues with Lylah & the Blossoms. Ray Lynn starts to get up and bumps into Taeler. Taeler throws her to the Blossoms. The Blossoms hit a Rock Blossom on Ray Lynn, and it's followed up by a buttdrop from Lylah for the 3.
WINNERS: LYLAH & BLOSSOMS by pinfall.

Jay Bradley vs. Ryan Howe (w/Rockstar Spud).
Jay attacks Howe. Howe fires back and knocks him from the ring. Howe dives out on Jay. Jay comes back and throws Howe out of the ring saying he needed a breather. He hammers Howe on the apron. He delivers a slam and drops 2 elbows on Howe. He locks in an abdominal stretch using the ropes for advantage. He hits a big boot. Howe tries to fire back again, but Jay hits a backbreaker. He chokes Howe and then locks in the abdominal stretch again, elbowing Howe in the ribcage. Howe hits a chinbuster, followed by a double knee in the corner. He hits a forearm, his sliding uppercut, a back elbow, and a flying body press for 2. Howe goes to grab Jay, but Jay rakes his eyes and connects with the Boomstick for 3.
WINNER: BRADLEY by pinfall.
