OVW TV #736: "It's a Family Affair"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, September 25, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, an exclusive interview with the new OVW Women's Champion Hannah Blossom, team captains clash as Mohamad Ali Vaez went one-on-one with Rudy Switchblade, Ryan Howe went up against James "Moose" Thomas, the Miss OVW Contest continued, "The Pope" Elijah Burke defended the OVW TV Title against another member of the Marauders, plus more!

*NOTE* I still plan on covering all of the great OVW action and bringing you, the readers, the best coverage possible. However, I have decided that starting with tonight's report, I will be scaling them back a bit. It decreases my work load, allows me to watch and enjoy more of the action, and frees up more of my time. I have always done OVWmania on my own without expectations of anything in return, and it's a lot of work to put in. Thanks for understanding.

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Evan Markopoulos vs. Rockstar Spud
Evan tried to cheat early by pulling Spud's hair and tights. Spud came roaring back with an impressive flurry of offense, including a dropkick on a seated Markopoulos in the corner. In the end, though, Evan distracted referee Josh Ashcraft and low-blowed Rockstar Spud to get the pin.
WINNER: MARKOPOULOS by pinfall.

"The Marauders" Shiloh Jonze & Flash Flanagan (w/Raul LaMotta & Nick Dumeyer) vs. Stephon J. Baxter III & Aaron Sky.
A lot of double teaming by Flash & Shiloh. Aaron got a hot tag from Stephon, but it wasn't enough as Stephon was thrown out of the ring, and Shiloh hit a faceplant DDT on Aaron Sky who was perched on Flash's shoulders for the win.
WINNERS: MARAUDERS by pinfall.
After the match, Shiloh said "Power in numbers!". He said the OVW/Danny Davis finger puppet "The Pope" would have the title taken away from him by Raul LaMotta later tonight and at the end of the night "Pope be limpin'".

Clint Poe vs. Elvis Pridemoore.
A really quick match. Poe showed his strength over Elvis early, but knocked Elvis' hat off, and Elvis fired back and hit a chinbuster for the win.
WINNER: ELVIS by pinfall.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 9AM with replays Wednesdays at 9PM after WWE Main Event.

Gilbert Corsey interviews the new Women's Champion, Hannah Blossom. Hannah says she worked so hard and traveled so far and is happy to be the new champion. Gilbert asks about Holly. Hannah says it's been hard. She is used to talking to her sister everyday, and hasn't heard from her since last week.
Holly comes to the ring and says she has had time to think about it, and she is happy for Hannah.
They hug, but are interrupted by Lei'd Tapa. Tapa says she wants the title. Hannah is about to accept a challenge, but Holly takes the mic and says if Tapa wants her sister, she has to go through her first. Tapa says she will see Holly in her ring, her island, tonight.

Shannon the Dude is backstage and says the next challenge in the Miss OVW contest is a hula-hoop challenge. Ray Lyn, Jessie Belle, & Lovely Lylah are all participating, as Lei'd Tapa yells she doesn't hula-hoop and storms off. Check-ins will continue throughout the night as whoever lasts the longest wins the challenge.

"Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe vs. James "Moose" Thomas (w/Timmy Danger).
Howe dodges some offense from Moose early, but Moose comes back with a flurry of forearms in the corner, splashes Howe, and finishes him off with the Moose Kick for 3.
WINNER: MOOSE by pinfall.
Danger tells Moose to finish Howe. Before Moose can do much, Jamin Olivencia runs out and chases Moose off.

OVW TV TITLE: Raul LaMotta (w/Shiloh Jonze, Flash Flanagan, & Nick Dumeyer) vs. "The Pope" Elijah Burke (c).
Elijah controlled most of the match other than a small portion after he was distracted by Shiloh and Raul attacked from behind. In the end, Shiloh tried to interfere again, grabbing Elijah's feet. Elijah kicked Shiloh off as Raul charged at him. Elijah moved and Raul ran into the corner. Elijah with the Elijah Express to Raul for the 3.
WINNER and STILL OVW TV CHAMPION: POPE by pinfall.

Jay Bradley walks by the hula-hoopers and tells Lylah she looks like a hot mess. Jay is shoved up against a locker by Marcus Anthony. Marcus says he can't get physical with Jay until their match that was just signed for the October Saturday Night Special, but he's about to go to the ring and show him what's coming to him.

J. Best (w/"VIP" Joe Rosa & Roberto De Luna) vs. "The Strongest Gamer Alive" Marcus Anthony.
Best was basically fed to the wolves by the rest of the "VIP Club". Marcus totally dominated and finished Best off with the Gamma Punch.
WINNER: MARCUS by pinfall.
After the match, Jay Bradley tried to hit Marcus with a Boomstick from behind, but Marcus turned around and delivered a huge shoulder tackle. Jay rolls out of the ring and pulls Marcus down. He hits Marcus' leg on the side of the ring and then hits it against the steel ringpost. He grabs a mic and tells Marcus he will see him for their match at Saturday Night Special if he can walk.

The Mobile Homers are still trying to change their luck by playing scratch-off lottery tickets. Dylan Bostic distracts Jessie Belle by taking pictures of her with his phone, causing her to lose the hula-hooping. Holly Blossom argues with Hannah about the upcoming match with Lei'd Tapa, saying they are still a team and sisters, and they are in this together.

The Best Team Ever comes out, followed by Michael Hayes & Mohamad Ali Vaez. Rudy Switchblade says some things were said a few weeks ago that weren't really meant. They were frustrated about the Nightmare Cup and says him & Ali were really close at one time. Ali says he can respect that, but at Saturday Night Special, him & Mike are coming to win and cement their legacy as the best tag team in OVW. Jessie Godderz grabs the mic and says they are back as a team, though, and the only reason Ali & Hayes are champions, is because they weren't around when they won them. Hayes says that's probably because he was hopping around in a bunny suit and Rudy had disappeared. Hayes & Godderz start shoving each other, as Rudy & Ali lock up for their match...
Rudy Switchblade (w/Jessie Godderz) vs. Mohamad Ali Vaez (w/Michael Hayes).
A really good back and forth match until Hayes & Godderz end up getting into it on the outside and it spills into the ring. As referee Chris Sharpe tries to get Hayes back to the outside, Godderz hits an enziguri to Ali and Rudy rolls him up for the 3.
WINNER: SWITCHBLADE by pinfall.

The Marvelous Bodies are watching the hula-hoop contest when the Assassin comes in and takes out the Bodyguy. 4M runs off, bumping into Lylah and causing her to lose. Ray Lyn wins and is excited even though she gets pushed into the wall by Lei'd Tapa.

Jamin Olivencia is interviewed by Shannon the Dude. Jamin says James Thomas & Timmy Danger want to put a bullseye on his back? He will put a bullseye on them. They want to try and intimidate him? He will intimidate them back and challenge Moose for the OVW Heavyweight Title at Saturday Night Special.

Holly Blossom vs. Lei'd Tapa.
Hannah was on commentary. Holly with some early strikes, but Tapa was too strong. Tapa could have finished Holly off after a big boot, but to make a point to Hannah at commentary, picked Holly back up and ended it with her spinning diamond cutter finisher for the 3.
WINNER: TAPA by pinfall.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

4M: "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus (w/The Bodyguy) vs. "The King of Pink" Dylan Bostic.
The Bodyguy tries to distract the ref, but it backfires as Bostic picks up the victory after a low-blow for the 3.
WINNER: BOSTIC by pinfall.
After the match, the Bodyguy gets another clothesline from the Assassin.

Jay Bradley vs. Tony Gunn.
A good match between these two. Bradley focused on Gunn's knee most of the match. Gunn tried to rally, but was hit with the Boomstick for the 3.
WINNER: BRADLEY by pinfall.
