OVW TV #903: "O Captain, My Captain"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, December 7, 2016. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, the fallout from Christmas Chaos, an 8-man tag with Tyler Matrix & Rocco Bellagio as opposing team captains, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Dapper Dan Van Zandt (w/Ringmaster) defeats LJ. A little offense early from LJ, but Dan pretty much dominates from there, finishing LJ off with the Death Valley Driver.

Little Damion (w/Ringmaster) defeats Carlos Gabriel. Carlos with some quick offense early, but Damion takes advantage after Carlos accidentally pulls off his mask. Damion gets the 3 and the win after connecting with the flying headbutt.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey & Dean Hill are on commentary and Gilbert is the ring announcer.

Gilbert Corsey interviews Rocco Bellagio. Rocco says he did what he promised. He ended Randy Royal's career by sending him down to Plungetown. Now he is on the way to making history. He is going to do something that John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, or CM Punk couldn't do. He will not only be the best OVW Heavyweight Champion, but the longest reigning of all-time! First, he has a little challenge against Tyler Matrix next week in Charlestown. Matrix will also go to Plungetown. Matrix comes out and says that he has been to Plungetown, and he hears it's nice this time of year, but he is the only one still standing and coming back for more. He says history will be made, because he will become the youngest double champion in OVW history! Gilbert reminds them that they have an "O Captain, My Captain" 8-man tag first tonight. Rocco announces 2 of his partners, and brings out the Legacy of Brutality's Ca$h Flo & Big Zo with Josh Ashcraft. Rocco says Matrix has no friends. Matrix says he actually already has a team together, but why wait?
He goes after Rocco, but quickly gets taken down by the 3-on-1 advantage.
He is saved by his team, as Rev. Stu Miles, Jade Dawson, & the Mexicutioner come out and clear the ring.

"The King of Hairstyle" Robbie Walker & "The Most Hated Woman in Wrestling" Maria James defeat Rebel & "The Chosen One" Mitch Huff. Robbie tags out to Maria so he doesn't have to start out against Mitch. Madi Maxx is at ringside on her phone, watching the match closely. The women begin, but Maria tags back out to Robbie as Rebel gets the better of her. Mitch purposely messes up Robbie's hair. He hits a swinging neckbreaker and an atomic drop, but can't put Robbie away yet. He sets up for the Athlete's Foot, but Maria slaps him on the back. Mitch argues with her, then turns into a side effect from Robbie for 2. Off the ropes, Mitch & Robbie both go for a clothesline. They tag out to the women, and Rebel comes in firing away. She spears Maria and hits the split-legged legdrop, but Robbie pulls her off. Mitch gets in and knocks Robbie's lights out with an Athlete's Foot, but while the ref is getting Mitch out, Maria rakes Rebel's eyes and hits her with a reverse Russian leg sweep for the 3.

Trevor Steele defeats Adam Slade. This was a quick squash that saw Steele pick up the victory after hitting the torture rack slam for the 3.

Big Jon is interviewed about what happened at the Saturday Night Special. He says he doesn't know why Justin Smooth came out, and why he handed him one of HIS OVW Southern Tag Team Titles back after winning the match. He hasn't seen or heard from him since that night. The last time they were in the ring together, they fought in a stretcher match where they were trying to cart each other out of the arena. All he can say is he will be at the Rusty Bucket on December 13 to defend HIS OVW Southern Tag Team Titles.

Tony Gunn is out with the Tap Out Club sign. He says that he is out here to add Diamond. He tapped out at the Saturday Night Special, but first, he knows Diamond as Ryan Howe. So why did he change his name? He found out his girl's name is Annie Steele, so Diamond actually took her last name, so he knows who wears the pants in that relationship. He says there is more to it. If you Google "Ryan Howe", it doesn't take long to come up with WWE Tough Enough and "Skidmarks". He goes to place "Skidmarks" on the Tap Out Club sign when Diamond runs out and attacks him. He locks in the Whammy Bar, and Gunn taps. Officials run out to break it up. Diamond jumps through the ropes onto Gunn on the outside and locks it in again, before being separated. He says Gunn will have to add his own name to the list.

Kevin Giza defeats Ringmaster (w/Scarlet, Little Damion, & Dapper Dan Van Zandt). Ringmaster is in control when Lucas Gibson & Billy O run out and attack Damion & Dan at ringside with kendo sticks. Ringmaster, distracted, misses the flying elbow. Giza then hits a flying body press and gets the 3. After the match, Dan says that they will have a Charlestown street fight against Billy, Lucas, & Giza.

"The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix, Jade Dawson, "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles, & the Mexicutioner defeat Rocco Bellagio, Adam Revolver, & "The Legacy of Brutality": Big Zo & Ca$h Flo (w/Josh Ashcraft).
A lot of good action. In the end, Jade takes Revolver out, Rocco plunges Jade, Matrix hits the pele kick to Rocco. Zo flies out of the ring charging at Mex & Stu as they pull down the top rope, then Stu hits a running "be healed" to Ca$h, Mex spears Ca$h, and Matrix connects with the swanton for the 3.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

At intermission, Dapper Dan Van Zandt attacks the 50/50 Boys (Lucas Gibson & Kevin Giza) from behind with the kendo stick.

"Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeats Billy O. Gunn came out in street clothes, saying he wasn't fighting after being attacked from behind by Diamond. Billy comes out and takes it to Gunn, but Gunn goes to the outside to regroup. He says he already has Billy on the Tap Out Club as "Oceans Zero", but he has no problem with adding him twice. He pulls Billy out of the ring and then focuses his attack on the leg. Billy comes back and hits the high knee, but Gunn takes the leg out again and locks in the YTO for the tapout.

As always, thanks for reading!
