OVW TV #909: "Rocco's Modern Life"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, January 18, 2017. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Tyler Matrix defends the OVW Television Title against Dapper Dan Van Zandt, Rocco Bellagio celebrates being the longest-reigning OVW Heavyweight Champion in history, Robbie Walker's debut talk show features Trevor Steeleplus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Jade Dawson defeats Lucas Jacobs in a quick squash following a snap DDT.

Kevin Giza defeats The Ringmaster. Ringmaster attacks with hard shots and kicks Giza from the ring. He smacks him hard in the chest against the barricade at ringside. Giza comes back with a flying forearm, kick to the head, and dropkick in the corner. He goes up, but Ringmaster pushes the ref into the ropes, making Giza fall across the top turnbuckle. Ringmaster slams him off, then goes for his finisher, but Giza rolls him up for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey & Shannon the Dude are on commentary and Gilbert is the ring announcer.

Rocco Bellagio is brought out for his own personal celebration of "This Is Your Life". He says this is all about him, because he is the longest-reigning OVW Heavyweight Champion of all time. He brings out his first guest, an old friend, a former OVW Television Champion, Joe Coleman!
Joe gets in and says he drove 6 hours from Michigan to be here. Rocco says he is glad he did, but even though he called him to come, this is his celebration and he still has another guest. He shoos Coleman away, and brings out his next guest. It's another former partner from BS 2.0, a former OVW Heavyweight Champion, Jason Wayne! Wayne & Coleman meet up on the outside and talk. Rocco calls Wayne to come in, saying again that this is about him.
Wayne gets in and congratulates Rocco. He says he also drove a long time, over 10 hours to meet up with Rocco. The fans are chanting for Wayne, and Rocco is unhappy. He says this is his celebration. Wayne says congratulations and hugs Rocco. Rocco plunges him and wraps a chair around his leg. He grabs another chair and hits it against Wayne's leg several times before Coleman runs back out and checks on Wayne.
He then takes Rocco down and runs him out of the ring. He says he was never OVW Champion, because he never got the chance. He challenges Rocco as Dean Hill comes out behind Rocco. Dean says he will have Rocco vs. Coleman in the main event, and after what Rocco just did, it will be for the title!

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix (c) defeats Dapper Dan Van Zandt (w/Scarlet & Ringmaster). A relatively quick match where Matrix gets some kicks in off the ropes. Dan gets control and has Matrix hooked from behind. Ringmaster gets on the apron and spews green mist, but Matrix moves, and the mist goes in Dan's eyes. Matrix gets the roll-up and the 3. After the match, Ringmaster & Dan argue and shove each other. Scarlet is on the apron trying to get them to stop, but Dan shoves Ringmaster into her by accident, knocking her off the apron.

"The King of Hairstyle" Robbie Walker debuts his new talk show "Brush Hour". His first guest is Trevor Steele. He talks about last week and pulls out a lock of hair, that he pulled off of Diamond's head. He says he built his mullet club over the last 2 years, where it has taken Diamond 9 years to build his "Steele Empire".
Diamond comes out and says this is how he makes a living. He is ready to fight right now. It can be on the floor, in the ring, in the stands, in the parking lot, it doesn't matter. He says he can put his hair on the line. Robbie says it looks like there has been a hair vs. hair match made on the first ever Brush Hour. Diamond & Trevor start to brawl. Steele takes Diamond down and goes to cut some of his hair, but Diamond sprays him in the face with hairspray. It will be hair vs. hair next week!

"The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles defeats Big Zo (w/Josh Ashcraft). Josh spends the entire match berating Zo for not winning the gold last week or doing things right. Zo hits a big slam and misses the Zo Bomb. Stu hits a healing off the top rope and Josh calls for Ca$h Flo to come out. Ca$h attacks Stu and Stu wins by DQ, although he gets squashed between Ca$h & Zo.

OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLES: "Big Smooth": Big Jon & Justin Smooth (c) defeat El Stingray & Carlos Gabriel. Smooth & Jon power right through this match in a squash, putting Stingray away with a double chokeslam for the 3.
After the match, Tony Gunn comes out and says that last week, Team Next Level got rid of some trash with Mitch Huff. He also says last week's match didn't count, because two men can't pin one man. Next week, him & Devin Driscoll will face them in a rematch and take their titles. Jon & Smooth grab him and double chokeslam him and Jon says let that be a preview of what will happen next week.

OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: "The Show Stealer" Rocco Bellagio (c) defeats "The Genetic Jackpot" Joe Coleman. A good back and forth match. Coleman breaks out of many Plunge attempts, and has many top-rope axehandles and forearms to Rocco, but on his last attempt, Coleman is caught off the top in a Plunge for the 3.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"Wrestling's Rockstar" Diamond defeats Ca$h Flo (w/Josh Ashcraft) after Zo comes out to help. Zo gets Diamond's attention, but Ca$h almost runs into Zo on the apron. Diamond dropkicks Ca$h into Zo, then rolls him up for the 3.

As always, thanks for reading!
