OVW TV #918: "Racing to the Festival"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, March 22, 2017. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Dean Hill announces the 3rd annual Run for the Ropes event, Rebel defends the OVW Women's Title against Madi Maxx, Hy Zaya & Tyler Matrix team up against Ca$h Flo & Adam Revolver, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Bad Boys Club""Bad Boy" Shane Andrews & "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (w/"Bad Girl" Jessie Belle) defeat Houdini & Little Damion. Very little offense from Damion & Houdini. The BBC pick up the win after Royal delivers the samoan drop to Damion, followed by Shane's frog splash for the 3.

Chace Destiny comes out and says he is tired of busting his butt week after week and tired of the guys in the back. He says he is the biggest, baddest man here and issues an open challenge...
Justin Smooth defeats Chace DestinyA quick match. Chace tries to attack Smooth as he enters the ring. Smooth shoves him away, hits the running big boot, and finishes him off with Street Justice for the 3.

"Dancing" Deonta Davis defeats Dustin Jackson. Deonta wins pretty quickly after hitting a hip hop elbow drop for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Ron Hed & Josh Ashcraft are on commentary, and KC is the ring announcer.

Dean Hill comes out and says to mark your calendars for Friday, April 28th. The Kentucky Derby Festival has asked them to return again for the 3rd annual "Run for the Ropes". He says matches and superstars will be announced in the coming weeks, but the main event will be a "captain's match". Big Jon comes out and thanks Dean for reinstating him. He says after he and the fans win the OVW Heavyweight Title at SNS, he wants to be the face of that match. Rocco Bellagio comes out and says this might be the one of the last times you ever see Jon after he takes him out at the SNS, and if anyone should be a captain, it's him. Dean comes up with a "Pick Your Poison" for them for tonight and next week. Rocco can pick Jon's opponent tonight, and Jon will pick Rocco's opponent next week.

Dapper Dan defeats LJ (again). LJ gets in some offense and tries for a frog splash, but misses. Dan hits him with the Death Valley Driver for the 3.

OVW WOMEN'S TITLE: Madi Maxx defeats Rebel (c). Rebel goes right after Madi, specifically her face, after Madi had injured her in the face several weeks ago. Rebel with punches, knees, and on the outside, throws Madi face first into the ringpost. Inside, she hits a shining wizard, but Madi gets her foot on the ropes at 2. Rebel goes to the top rope, but Madi bumps the ref into the ropes, knocking Rebel off the top rope, crashing to the mat. Madi hits her with the twisting neckbreaker and gets the 3 to become new Women's Champion!

OVW Southern Tag Team Champions Billy O & Kevin Giza defeat Adam Slade & David Lee Lorenze III. Slade gets taken down immediately as David berates him for not following the script. Billy knocks Slade into David, knocking David off the apron. Billy & Giza hit their finisher on Slade to get the 3.
After the match, David says that's not how his TV debut was supposed to go. He hits Slade with the final cut and pins to 3 himself.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles (c) vs. "Shotgun" Tony Gunn ends in a no contest.
Robbie Walker runs out and attacks Stu, then gets a ladder and attacks him with it. He tells Stu to say his prayers, because his official rematch for the TV Title will happen at SNS in a ladder match!

"The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix & "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya defeat Ca$h Flo & Adam Revolver. Hy takes most of the damage as Ca$h & Revolver work him over. He gets a hot tag to Matrix, and Matrix comes in plowing through Revolver. He hits a pele kick to Ca$h, as Josh Ashcraft leaves commentary to get on the apron. Big Zo comes out and pulls him off the apron and argues with him. Ca$h goes out and brawls with Zo. Hy is back on his feet and flies to the outside on both of them. Inside, Matrix hits Revolver with a twisting neckbreaker and points to Hy to go up top. Hy hits Ninja Vanish, and Tyler follows it up with a swanton for the 3.

"The Man of Tomorrow" Daniel Eads defeats Big JonEads is in control for most of the match, attacking the leg of Big Jon and working it over. He picks Jon up, going for the Weight of the World, but Jon slides off and goes for the chokeslam. The ref gets knocked out in the process, and Rocco Bellagio gets up from commentary and low blows Jon. Eads hits a superman punch jumping off the top rope for the 3.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Cardinal comes out and says there is no competition here tonight, but his schedule works out for him to be at St. Gabriel this Saturday. He doesn't care who his opponent is, but at the end they will hear these 3 words, "Cardinal Owns You".

Big Zo defeats Jade Dawson by DQ after interference from Ca$h Flo & Josh Ashcraft.
Zo had just hit the Zo Bomb and was probably about to pick up the 3 regardless, but he goes outside after Ca$h & Josh and the 3 brawl to the back.

As always, thanks for reading!
