OVW TV #940: "Payne-ful Return"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, August 23, 2017. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, Adam Revolver & Michael Hayes team up against Justin Smooth & Tyler Matrix, the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles are on the line as the Legacy of Brutality defends against the Bad Boys Club, plus more!

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Winter Swoldier" Adam Slade & Kevin Giza defeat Apollo "Showtime" Garvin & "Dancin" Deonta Davis. Slade does about 4 laps before the match and lets Giza start to catch his breath. Giza & Slade have control early over Deonta. Slade hits a release German Suplex and Giza goes for the pin, but Apollo breaks it up. Apollo then kicks Giza in the back off the ropes and Deonta tags him in. Giza gets worked over until a hot tag back to Slade. Slade with uppercuts galore to Deonta, and tags Giza back in. Giza connects with a perfect 450 splash for the 3.

"Bad Girl" Jessie Belle defeats "The Makeup Artist" Jaylee (w/David Lee Lorenze III) & Cali in a triple threat match. A quick back and forth match with several quick pin attempts and near falls. Cali has Jaylee in the armbreaker, but David distracts the ref. Cali gets taken down and Jessie connects with the Belle Buster on Jaylee to get the 3.

"Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeats Aloysius. Aloysius gets some arm drags and a dropkick in, as well as a side headlock takedown. Gunn comes back and works him over. He hits a suplex and a knee to the head off the top rope. Aloysius comes back with a double legdrop across the back. He hits some clotheslines and a headscissor takedown. He goes for a sunset flip off the ropes, but Gunn hits him off and grabs him up for the reverse DDT and the 3.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: David Lee Lorenze III (w/Jaylee & Randall Floyd) (c) defeats Billy Oceans. Billy with the quick start and a beautiful dropkick. David gets knocked out of the ring and caught by Randall. Billy chases David in the ring, but Jaylee grabs Billy's leg. David takes control and goes for the Director's Cut, but Billy throws him off onto the top turnbuckle. He hits a splash and a high knee in the corner. He slams David down, but Randall is on the apron. Rev. Stuart Miles runs out and pulls Randall off. As they argue, the Void runs out and attacks Stu. With Billy's attention focused on the outside, David rolls him up from behind and holds the tights for the 3. 

Adam Revolver comes to the ring for an interview with Gilbert Corsey, alongside Shannon the Dude. He has a bombshell. He says Tyler Matrix isn't is his league and is going to take him to school. Matrix comes out and Adam says he's bringing the "Payne" to him. Torey Payne (Tyler's ex) comes out and Adam tells her to give him the what-for.

Torey ends up apologizing and asks Tyler to forgive her. Adam is beside himself, and Tyler accepts her apology. Adam grabs her, and Tyler pushes him and says he promised Dean he wouldn't lay a hand on him until the main event, but he swears he will rip him apart if he touches her again. Tonight in the main event, he will give Adam a preview of the Special.

"The River City Dragon" Logan James defeats Christian Hernandez. Christian shoves him across the ring early and asks if it's gonna be that easy. It's not. LJ back with several kicks to the chest and gut. He hits Christian with the Gut Check and follows it up with the frog splash for the 3 and the win.


OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: "The Bad Boys Club": "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal & "Bad Boy" Shane Andrews (w/"Bad Girl" Jessie Belle) defeat "The Legacy of Brutality": Dapper Dan & Ca$h Flo (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) (c) by DQ. The LOB tries to attack the BBC, but they duck and clothesline them out of the ring. They then dive out on them. Randy hits Ca$h around ringside off the barricade and hits him in the head with a trash can. Randy tries a quick rollup on Ca$h inside for 2. Shane & Dan both tag in and Shane takes Dan down and hits a kick to the head. Shane gets in Josh's face on the outside for touching Jessie. He decides it's not worth it, and as Shane turns his back, Josh gets up and hits Shane in the back of the head with his neckbrace. The LOB double team Shane and take control, mugging him in the corner. Ca$h gives him a hard chop. The LOB double slam him.

Dan locks in a sleeper. Shane starts to fight out, but eats a clothesline for 2. Dan kicks him in the face. Ca$h tags in and locks in a bearhug. Shane fights out and hits an enziguri. Ca$h & Shane are both down. Shane leaps for a tag, but Ca$h catches him in a bearhug again, only for Shane to swing around and hit a DDT. Both men tag, and Royal fires away on both Ca$h & Dan. He hits a neckbreaker drop to Ca$h and a Samoan drop to Dan. Shane follows up with a frog splash, but Josh gets in the ring and hits Randy with his cane to cause a DQ.

After the match, Shane gets attacked by Ca$h. Josh tells him to go up and Ca$h delivers a splash of his own to Shane! Josh says he's not finished and tells him to go up again. Jessie gets in and tells them to stop and covers herself over Shane.

Josh & Dan grab Jessie off and hold her down for Ca$h to deliver a splash to her!

Several stars from the back run out with the backboard to cart Jessie out.

OVW Heavyweight Champion Adam Revolver & Michael Hayes (w/World Radio Heavyweight Champion Shannon the Dude) defeat "The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix & "The Trinidadian Titan" Justin Smooth. Revolver pulls Matrix out and run him into the barricade. Smooth tries to grab Hayes in, but Adam pulls his head across the rope and they pull him out and ram him into the side of the ring. Smooth regains control and powers through them. He goes for the bicycle kick, but Hayes pulls Adam to safety out of the ring. Smooth tags Matrix. Matrix goes to fly out, but Adam & Hayes move around the ring. Smooth double clotheslines them. Matrix rolls Hayes in, but misses the swanton. Hayes & Adam work him over. STD interferes and gets caught and sent to the back. Matrix has Adam in an inside cradle, but Hayes has Smooth and the ref distracted. Matrix takes Adam down and tags Smooth. Smooth fires away and goes for Street Justice, but Hayes takes out his leg. Smooth kicks Adam off a Figure Four, and tags Matrix. Matrix is on fire and hits an enziguri to Adam. Hayes hits him from behind and Smooth fights with Hayes to the outside.

Torey Payne runs out and Matrix sees her. She goes to spray Matrix in the face, but has silly string instead. She then tries a low blow, but Matrix was wearing a cup. He yells at her to get out of his ring. Adam tries to lock the sleeper in, but Matrix flips him over. He goes off the ropes and gets tripped up by Torey. Adam locks the sleeper in fully and Matrix goes out.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"The Bro Godz": Colton Cage & Dustin Jackson defeat Houdini & "Livewire" KTD. Adam Slade makes a special appearance mid-match running 2 laps around the ring. The Bro Godz control most of the match except for some strikes from KTD. They hit the Bro Code on Houdini to get the 3.

"The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles (w/Billy Oceans) defeats Chace Destiny (w/"The Void": Jade Dawson & Jacob Black). Stu with the early advantage, delivering the Holy Trinity of chops to Chace. Jade gets on the apron causing a distraction, and Chace grabs the sledgehammer. Billy pulls it away, and the ref turns to see him with it. He sends Billy to the back as the Void triple teams Stu. Stu fires back with some healing and the three amigos. Black is on the apron and Stu gets distracted. Chace grabs him, but Stu fights out and hits the clawslam. Jade gets in and breaks the count causing a DQ. The Void triple teams Stu, and Billy comes out to run them off.
