OVW TV #941: "Clash With the Titan"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, August 30, 2017. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, Michael Hayes faces Logan James, Tyler Matrix faces Jade Dawson, Dean Hill addresses the Legacy of Brutality's attack on Jessie Belle, plus more!

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Bro Godz": Colton Cage & Dustin Jackson defeat "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson & "Livewire" KTD. KTD & Sam with a quick start. They try to dive out on the Bros on the outside, but are met with forearms to the head. The Bros work over Sam and Dustin hits the Ballin' elbow. He misses a second and kicks Dustin away. Both men tag, and KTD fires away on Colton. Dustin breaks up a pin and knocks Sam off the apron. Dustin hits a whirling knee and Colton hits the scissor kick for the 3.

Aloysius Hamilton defeats Mr. Williams. Williams with a side headlock and punches Aloysius, but runs off the ropes and hurts himself trying to shoulder block him down. Aloysius takes control and controls the rest of the match. He hits a double legdrop across Williams' back, then hits the famestopper for the 3.

Gilbert Corsey & Dr. Ted McNaler are on commentary, and KC is the ring announcer.

Dean Hill comes to the ring and asks for Josh Ashcraft and the Legacy of Brutality to come out. He asks for an explanation of what they did to Jessie Belle last week. Ca$h Flo starts off since he's the one that did the deed. He says it is because Jessie kept sticking her nose where it didn't belong. She should have stayed at home, in the kitchen, making him a sandwich. Josh then says they are the champions and can do anything, anytime, as they want. Dean asks if that's so. He says they will put their titles on the line at the Saturday Night Special, but he doesn't have to see or hear from them until then. He has guys from the back escort Dapper Dan & Josh from the building, but has Ca$h stay behind. He says a woman beater like him needs to face someone his own size. Out comes Justin Smooth...

"The Trinidad Titan" Justin Smooth defeats Ca$h Flo by countout. Ca$h & Smooth exchange blows and Ca$h gets in abig chop. Ca$h throws him in the corner, but Smooth moves and hits a clothesline and a big slam. Smooth is getting the better of Ca$h, and Ca$h decides he doesn't need to get back in the ring.
After the match, Dean Hill comes out and says not only is he a woman beater, he is a coward. He has the guys escort him out of the building as well, because he doesn't need any cowards in his locker room.

#1 CONTENDER for the OVW TELEVISION TITLE: Big Zo defeats "Shotgun" Tony Gunn. David Lee Lorenze III, Jaylee, & Randall Floyd are at the commentary table. Quick exchanges early. Zo with a suplex, chops into the corner, and a splash. He slams him and hits the Are You Serious? legdrop. He slams him in the corner and goes up for the Zo bomb, but Jaylee distracts the ref. David goes to hit Zo with the clapperboard, but Zo ducks, and David nails Gunn. Zo kicks David out of the ring and hits the Zo bomb on Gunn for the 3.

After the match, David & Randall attack Zo. Randall hits the Deal Breaker, but they argue over who should do what next. Zo gets back up, knocks Randall out of the ring, and hits a huge powerbomb on David.

"The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix defeats "The Dark Angel" Jade Dawson (w/"The Void": Chace Destiny & Damion). A quick back and forth opening. Matrix has to fight off outside interference from the Void, but manages to stay in control and hit a roundhouse kick. He goes up for the swanton, but Adam Revolver runs out and pushes Matrix off to cause a DQ.

After the match, Logan James runs out to help fight off Revolver.

Matrix gets back up and helps fight off Revolver, but the Void attacks them and Jade hits a snap DDT on Matrix. Holy Water runs out and fights with the Void. They take out Chace & Damion, then hit a combo clawslam/chokeslam on Jade.

They grab a casket from under the ring and try to stuff him in, but the Void comes back in and knock Billy to the outside and try to stuff Stu in. Billy comes back in with a sledgehammer and chases them off.

"The Winter Swoldier" Adam Slade & Kevin Giza defeat Apollo "Showtime" Garvin & Dre Blitz. Quick start by Giza & Slade, but Apollo kicks Slade from the outside as he goes off the ropes. Apollo & Blitz work Slade over, until Slade comes back and gets the tag to Giza. Slade flips Giza onto Apollo with a flying legdrop for the 3.

Gilbert Corsey & Ted McNaler say that the Women's Title has been vacated by Mickie Knuckles due to personal reasons, so there will be a new champion at the Special. Cali will be one of the participants, with the other to be announced Saturday night. Also, after their win, Adam Slade & Kevin Giza are the new #1 contenders for the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles.

Michael Hayes defeats "The River City Dragon" Logan James. A back and forth opening with Hayes in control, then LJ comes back with some kicks and fast-paced maneuvers. Hayes goes down in the corner, and takes off his leg. While the ref is distracted, Adam Revolver runs out and low blows LJ from behind. Tyler Matrix runs out and fights with Adam to the back. Hayes only gets a 2, but puts LJ away with a mandible claw.

After the match, Hayes won't break the hold until he is chased away by Justin Smooth.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"Holy Water": "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles & Billy Oceans defeats David Lee Lorenze III & "The Real Deal" Randall Floyd (w/Jaylee). Holy Water with all the control early. They work over David first where Billy hits a high knee in the corner, but David kicks out at 2. Then after Randall tags in, Stu hits him with the Holy Trinity of chops. David & Randall take over control when Billy gets kicked by David on the outside after going off the ropes. Randall with a big slam for 2. David with two "takes" on his clotheslines to Billy. They work over Billy's knee. Billy reverses a Director's Cut attempt from David into a tombstone. Both men make tags. Stu comes in with healing shots to both David & Randall. They hit the clawslam/chokeslam combo on David, then the double flapjack on Randall to get the 3.
