OVW TV 1034: Lily Kicked, Dustin Ticked

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, June 5, 2019. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and on the OVW Network. In this episode, the TV Title gauntlet featuring defending champion Randall Floyd, Jay Bradley faces #1 contender Dustin Jackson, Kings Ransom has an open challenge, plus more!

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

TRIPLE THREAT: Cali Young defeats Jessie Belle & Thunderkitty. Cali hangs out in the corner and lets Jessie & Kitty lock up. Jessie with a side headlock. Kitty kicks her and goes for a suplex, but Jessie with an inside cradle for 1 as Cali kicks it apart. Jessie shoves Cali and goes after Kitty again, but Cali spears her. Kitty gets knocked out of the ring and Cali rolls Jessie up from behind with a handful of tights for the 3.

DL3 (w/Shiloh Jonze & Big D) defeats William Alexander Moore. Moore charges and DL3 moves twice. Moore finally gets a hold of him and locks him up. He ducks a clothesline and hits some clotheslines of his own. Shiloh distracts him on the mic and DL3 hits him with a high knee. Moore comes back again, but Shiloh distracts him on the mic again. DL3 hits him from behind and hits the corner clothesline. Moore back with a neckbreaker drop. Shiloh on the mic, Moore is unfazed and hits his finisher on DL3, but then goes after Shiloh. He throws Big D into the ringpost and raps back at Shiloh. DL3 dropkicks him through the ropes, then hits the Director's Cut for the 3.

"Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya defeats Chace Destiny. They lock up into the corner, clean break. Hy with a side headlock takedown. Chace into a headscissors. Hy out, off the ropes, Chace with some arm drags and a dropkick. He hits a running uppercut in the corner. He snapmares him, but misses a kick. Hy rolls him over, but Chace catches him with another arm drag. Off the ropes again, Hy catches him with a knee to the gut. Hy chops him in the corner, but then runs into a back elbow and then a boot on another charge. Chace runs out into a sidewalk slam. Hy goes up, but lands on his feet as Chace moves. Chace goes for a leg sweep, but Hy jumps over it and nails a blue thunder bomb. Hy goes up again and hits the Ninja Vanish for the 3.

Gilbert Corsey, Shannon the Dude, & Dr. Ted McNaler are on commentary, and Brittany Devore & Mercy are the ring announcers.

Gilbert Corsey is in the ring and brings out the new Women's Champion, Megan Bayne. Meg says she was emotional that night, because she has worked hard to get to that point, and it was also her 21st birthday. She is interrupted by Cali Young. Cali asks who invited Meg, and says she was some bigfoot that got shaved down and molded into a wrestler. She wants a rematch. Meg goes down and gets in her face and says she has a rematch at Fort Knox on June 14, and she will put her "big foot" in Cali's little ***!

Kings Ransom comes out for their open challenge. They say it's been a little boring being champions, because they have had no competition. They fear no one. The War Kings appear on screen and say they got off the phone with Dean Hill and will take on their open challenge at Fort Knox on June 14. They're coming and it will be off with their heads! Ashton Cove & William Lutz come out with facepaint on like the War Kings and remind Kings Ransom that they beat them twice and are out to take care of business on behalf of "Crimmy"!
OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: "Kings Ransom": Maximus & Leonis Khan (c) defeat William Lutz & Ashton Cove. Lutz & Cove get chopped, and Lutz gets knocked to the outside. Off the ropes, Cove gets speared for the 3! Ransom says they will see the War Kings on June 14.

Drew Hernandez comes out and says that Melvin Maximus might have won the battle royal at SNS, but Melvin isn't here and he has been in more gauntlets than anyone and was the second to last one in the battle royal. Brandon Wolfe comes out and wants a shot at the last spot. Sam Thompson comes out and wants in, as does Big Zo, Ca$h Flo, and finally the champ himself, Randall Floyd. Ted McNaler says he got word from Dean Hill that there will be a battle royal right now to determine the order of tonight's gauntlet...
BATTLE ROYAL: Drew Hernandez is eliminated first, then Sam Thompson, Brandon Wolfe, Big Zo, and Ca$h Flo. Randall Floyd wins, but Drew runs back out and clips the leg of Floyd. He stomps on it and officials try to keep him away to help Floyd out.

TELEVISION TITLE GAUNTLET MATCH:
Drew Hernandez defeats "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson. Sam ducks clotheslines and dropkicks him, then hits a slingblade. Drew rolls out and Sam flies out onto him. Back inside, Sam goes off the ropes, but is caught with a pop-up spinebuster for the 3.
Drew Hernandez defeats Brandon Wolfe. Wolfe with kicks galore, and a leaping knee to the face. He misses a reverse frog splash from the top, and Drew hits him with the Mayan Apocalypse for the 3.
Big Zo defeats Drew Hernandez. Drew kicks Zo as he enters, but Zo catches him with a slam, followed by the SaZoan drop. Drew pulls Zo's head down across the top rope and goes for the powerbomb, but Zo hits an Alabama Slam for the 3.
Ca$h Flo defeats Big Zo. Ca$h fires away and ducks a running cross body from Zo. He chops Zo on the outside against the railing and throws him back in. Zo fires back, but gets tripped up off the ropes. Ca$h with a butt drop across the back and a submission. In the corner, Ca$h misses a charge and Zo splashes him. He runs into a super kick, and Ca$h goes up top. He hits the frog splash for the 3!
"The Real Deal" Randall Floyd (c) defeats Ca$h Flo. Floyd limps out following the attack from Drew after the battle royal. Ca$h goes right after it as Floyd enters the ring. He works it over, but Floyd takes him down and tries to lock in the Figure Four. Ca$h kicks him into the corner and chops him. Floyd continues to try and fire back, taking Ca$h down again for the Figure Four. Ca$h rolls him up an inside cradle, but Floyd rolls it over and gets the 3!

Jay Bradley (w/OVW Heavyweight Champion Justin Smooth) defeats #1 Contender Dustin Jackson (w/Lily & Michael Hayes). Jay runs Dustin into the corner and hits him. Dustin with a side headlock takedown. Jay breaks free and charges him, but runs right into a dropkick. Dustin fires away on Jay in the corner. Jay reverses a throw, but misses a big boot. Dustin takes him down for 2. Jay back with a slam off his shoulders. He calls for the Boomstick, but Dustin with a cross body. Dustin fires away, but Jay grabs the ref, and Smooth trips Dustin off the ropes. Hayes returns the favor to Jay, but the ref sees it and throws him out. Dustin with a roll-up for 2, followed by an enziguri. Jay back with a snap suplex. Dustin back with the "B-R-O" in the corner, but Jay slams him down. Off the ropes, Jay charges at Dustin, but Dustin pulls down the top rope and Jay flies out. Jay grabs a chair, but Dustin dropkicks it in his face. He hits a running knee and a suplex. He slams Jay on the chair and goes up top. He hits the top rope splash and covers for 2 as Smooth pulls him off. Hayes comes back out and chases him around ringside. As the ref gets Hayes to the back, Smooth attacks Dustin from behind and pounds on him. Lily gets in and grabs Smooth's arm. She smacks him as Dustin gets back up. Justin charges with a bicycle kick that catches Lily! Dustin spears Justin and pounds away. Meanwhile, Jay has finally recovered and rolls Dustin up from behind for the 3.

This ended the TV taping.

DARK MATCH: OVW Southern Tag Team Champion Leonis Khan defeats OVW Heavyweight Champion Justin Smooth. They lock up and Leo has the upperhand into the corner. They lock up again and Smooth gets Leo into the corner. He chops him. Leo drives him into the opposite corner and chops him hard. Smooth rolls out and takes his time getting back in. Off the ropes, Leo leaps over Smooth and hits the running shoulder tackle. Again, Smooth rolls out and takes his time getting in. Smooth hits him and chokes him in the corner. Leo with an uppercut and chop. He hits Smooth off the turnbuckle in the corner. Smooth kicks him and puts a chinlock on. He pulls Leo down and smacks him. He hits him in the back and chokes him in the ropes. Smooth chokes him in the corner with his boot and throws him hard across the ring into the opposite corner. Smooth charges into a back elbow. Leo goes up top, but crashes as Smooth moves. Smooth sets up for the bicycle kick, but Leo ducks and spears him. He goes up top again and hits a huge cross body for 2. Jay Bradley runs out and attacks Leo causing a DQ. Maximus Khan runs out for the save, but ends up getting taken down as well. Jay & Smooth continue to stomp them as Dustin Jackson & Michael Hayes run out and run them off.
