OVW TV 1042: Storm Gets STD (Smooth's Terrible Deed)

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, July 31, 2019. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and on the OVW Network. In this episode, the TV Title gauntlet featuring TV Champion Big Zo, Corey Storm faces Adam Revolver with a chance to get 5 minites alone in the ring with Shannon the Dude, Sinn Bodhi is back to defend the Anarchy Title against Drew Hernandez, plus more!

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"Mr. Marvelous" Melvin Maximus (w/Mrs. Marvelous) defeats Jacob Black. A side headlock by Black. Off the ropes, Melvin shoulder blocks him. Off the ropes again, Black tries a hip toss, but Melvin reverses. He charges Black in the corner, but Black moves. Black with a knee to the gut and a pressure point. Melvin works up and hits a shoulder tackle off the ropes. He splashes Black in the corner, then goes for the Russian leg sweep. Black blocks it and slams Melvin for 2. He puts Melvin in a pressure point again. He forearms Melvin in the face, but Melvin gets angry, then delivers the Russian leg sweep for the 3.

Dimes defeats Big D. D attacks Dimes before he gets his ring vest off. He hits a sidewalk slam off the ropes, then chokes Dimes in the ropes. He slams Dimes in the middle of the ring and hits a legdrop. D rips the vest off and continues clubbing Dimes. Dimes comes back off the ropes with a flying headscissors. He hits a legdrop across the back of the neck, then connects with the Change Maker for the 3.

Amon defeats KTD. Amon tries to attack, but KTD ducks and fires away with lefts and rights. He leaps at Amon and is caught. He is slammed and then gets a back body drop. Amon knocks him outside to the floor. KTD goes to climb in, but Amon stands on KTD's hands. Amon suplexes him in from the apron. KTD kicks out at 2. Amon locks him in a full nelson. KTD works his way up, but Amon slams him down. Off the ropes, KTD tries a sunset flip. Amon blocks it, picks KTD up by his ears, then delivers an STH for the 3.

SANTA'S SUMMER SURPRISE ANARCHY TITLE MATCH: "The Warlord of Weird" Sinn Bodhi (c) defeats Drew Hernandez. Drew charges at Sinn, but gets a boot to the face. Sinn bites Drew's hand. Drew back with a shoulder block, but misses an elbow drop. Drew rolls out and Sinn dropkicks him through the ropes. Sinn hits him with a present. Drew hits him off the apron, then gets a bottle of something out of a present and throws it in Sinn's eyes. Drew gets out a table, but Sinn hits Drew's head off of it. Sinn opens another present and it has lighter fluid. He sprays it on the table, but can't find a lighter. He tries to start a fire with a stick. Drew kicks him in the head and takes the table inside. Sinn back with a banana that he shoves in Drew's face. Sinn slips on the banana peel, but comes back and throws popcorn in Drew's face and hits his finisher for the 3.

After the match, Drew attacks Sinn from behind and throws Sinn through the table in the corner.

We see Shiloh Jonze asking DL3 in the back if he is going to have his head in the game this week. DL3 asks if Shiloh is going to be a good partner this week. Shiloh drinks something that DL3 made for him and DL3 insists he drink it all up.

TELEVISION TITLE GAUNTLET:

Shiloh Jonze (w/DL3 & Big D) defeats Ashton Cove. Cove dropkicks Shiloh, but Shiloh grabs him and throws him into the ringpost, knocking him out for the 3!

Shiloh Jonze (w/DL3 & Big D) defeats "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson. Sam fires away, but D trips him off the ropes. Shiloh takes Sam down and does a Shiloh-roonie. Off the ropes, DL3 "accidentally" trips Shiloh, yet Shiloh still gets the pin on Sam for the 3.

"The Real Deal" Randall Floyd defeats Shiloh Jonze (w/DL3 & Big D). Floyd takes it to Shiloh, but Shiloh can't take anymore and leaves the ring holding his backside. He gets counted out.

"The Real Deal" Randall Floyd vs. Dustin Jackson. Several back and forth pin attempts. Floyd rolls through one and delivers a German suplex. Dustin rolls to the floor. Floyd comes out and rolls Dustin back in. He locks in a sleeper. Dustin fights up, but Floyd catches him with a big suplex. He tries to pin for 2. Dustin catches Floyd with a hard shot to the face and tries to lock him in Floyd's Boston crab. Floyd reverses. Dustin out and tries a German suplex, but Floyd rolls through and locks in an ankle lock. Dustin gets to the ropes. Floyd charges and runs into a back elbow. Dustin throws Floyd into the opposite corner and hits a splash. He hits a second and then delivers a Michinoku Driver. He goes up top and hits a cross body, but Floyd rolls through for 2. Floyd takes Dustin back down and goes up top himself. Dustin catches him up top and slams him off. He pins for 2. Another small package for 2. Roll-up for 2. Floyd drops Dustin and tries to lock in the modified Boston crab, but the bell rings. Time has expired!

Big Zo comes out, but there are no competitors left. Jay Bradley comes out and says everyone loves chanting Zo's name. It would be a shame if the fans didn't get to see him wrestle. Zo accepts a challenge from Jay.

Jay Bradley defeats Big Zo (c). Jay and Zo exchange blows. Zo throws Jay to the corner and Jay hops over a charging Zo. He goes down clutching his leg. Officials and Ted McNaler check on him and walk him toward the back. Zo comes out and says he doesn't want to win this way. He turns back toward the ring and Jay grabs him from behind and throws him face first into the ringpost. He rolls him in and tells the ref to count. Jay gets the 3! Jay is the NEW TV Champion!

Valerie Verman is out, but gets interrupted by referee Daniel Spencer. Daniel says Val used a weapon last week and hit officials, so she is suspended by Dean Hill. Val hits Daniel with the bat and goes to hit him again, but Megan Bayne comes out and slams her.

She poses in the corner, but Val gets the bat and hits her from behind. She attacks the knee of Meg.

IF COREY STORM WINS, HE GETS 5 MINUTES WITH SHANNON THE DUDE: "Category 5" Corey Storm defeats Adam Revolver (w/Shannon the Dude). Adam tries to attack Corey from behind, but Corey catches him and fires away on him. He hits a dropkick and Adam goes to the outside. Corey hops onto the apron and kicks Adam in the face. STD grabs Corey's foot as he goes to get in, long enough for Adam to get up and knock Corey off the apron and into the barricade. Adam gets out and hits Corey off the apron. Corey comes back and hits Adam's head off the apron. Back inside, Adam hits Corey with a back elbow. He misses an elbow drop, and Corey is back with a headscissor takedown and dropkick. Off the ropes, STD distracts him again and Corey runs after him. STD runs through the ring and Adam plows Corey down for 2. Adam tries a sleeper, but Corey with a chinbuster. Corey with a spin kick to the head. He goes up top and STD gets on the apron. It allows Adam to get up and knock Corey off the top rope. Corey back with a kick to the head that knocks Adam out for the 3!

Shannon the Dude defeats "Category 5" Corey Storm. Officials force STD to get in the ring. Corey helps pull him in. Justin Smooth runs out and blasts Corey from behind with a steel chair. He tells the ref to ring the bell. STD runs over and gets the 3!

After the match, Smooth raises STD's arm, then proceeds to wrap the chair around Corey's back a couple more times. He grabs a mic and says he has been disrespected while out on his business trip and he is going to teach Corey some respect at the Special. 

This ended the TV taping.

DARK MATCH: "Filthy Rich": Nigel & Chace defeat Ashton Cove & William Lutz. Nigel & Chace with the early control, suckering them in for a handshake then kicking and hitting them in the corners. Lutz back with some offense, including a double neckbreaker. Chace distracts the ref with a croquet mallet, and tosses a croquet ball to Nigel. He uses it to blast Cove in the side of the head for the 3.
