OVW TV 1045: OVW vs. oVe: The Sequel

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, August 21, 2019. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and on the OVW Network. In this episode, Dustin Jackson faces Randall Floyd in a 60-minute time limit match, the TV Title gauntlet, plus more!

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Legacy of Brutality": Big Zo, Ca$h Flo, & "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya (w/Josh Ashcraft & Jay Bradley) defeats "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson, Ashton Cove, & Dapper Dan. Hy dropkicks Sam in the corner and slams him down. Zo tags in and squashes Sam in the corner. Ca$h tags in and chops Sam hard. Ca$h tosses Sam to the floor and Zo & Jay put some boots to him while Ca$h distracts the ref. Sam gets away to tag Cove. Off the ropes, he runs into a big boot from Ca$h. Zo & Ca$h squash Cove between them in the middle of the ring. Hy tags in and hits the Ninja Vanish for the 3.

"The Veteran" Apollo defeats Adam Revolver. Adam grabs a mic and says Apollo is a loser. He never wins and asks if he ever wins when he goes to the "hepatitis bingo halls" across the river. He says there's a $100,000 qualifying match coming up and after he beats Apollo and puts him to sleep, he is going to win that match too. While Adam keeps running his mouth, Apollo quickly rolls him up and gets a 3!

TRIPLE THREAT QUALIFYING MATCH FOR THE $100,000 LADDER MATCH AT FIGHT FOR FREEDOM: Nigel (w/Chace) defeats William Lutz & KTD. A handshake from Nigel turns into Lutz & KTD throwing him off the ropes and hitting a double back elbow. KTD with a Lou Thesz press and pin attempt on Lutz, but Nigel breaks it up. Nigel throws KTD into the corner onto Lutz and hits a double foot stomp. He tries to pin KTD, then Lutz for 2 counts. Nigel throws Lutz off the ropes, and Lutz comes back with a flipping neckbreaker for 2 as KTD breaks the pin. Lutz throws KTD into the corner and charges into an empty corner as KTD moves. Some big rights and forearms by KTD. A spinning back elbow. Chace goes to hit KTD with a croquet mallet, but KTD knocks him out. KTD picks up the mallet, but Nigel low blows him while the ref is distracted by getting Chace out of the ring. Nigel with the 3.

Valerie Vermin comes out and says she is owed another Women's Title match and tells Megan Bayne it's not over between them.

"The Real Deal" Randall Floyd vs. Dustin Jackson. They argue, shove, and then try some quick pin attempts. Roll-ups, small packages, all for 2 counts. Dustin tries to lock Floyd in his own finisher, the modified Boston crab. Floyd tries to lock up Dustin's arm. Dustin tries for a cross armbreaker. Floyd gets out and goes for a Deal Breaker. Dustin slides out, but Floyd catches him with a release German suplex. Floyd with a side headlock. Dustin gets out and locks up the arm again. Floyd with another German, then another. Floyd with a snapmare and a sleeper applied. Dustin works up. Off the ropes, shoulder block from Dustin. Side headlock applied to Floyd. Off the ropes again, and this time Floyd with a shoulder block. They both go for a dropkick at the same time. Dustin with a knee to the face. Dustin charges Floyd in the corner and Floyd flips him over. Dustin falls to the floor. Floyd goes to dive out, but catches a forearm from Dustin. Floyd misses a charge and Dustin kicks him in the face from the apron. Dustin leaps up top and dives down onto Floyd on the floor. Dustin rolls Floyd in. Dustin goes up top, but Floyd hits him. He climbs up, and they exchange blows. Floyd with a superplex. Both men are down, both men get back up before 10. Floyd rolls Dustin up in a leglock submission. Dustin manages to crawl to the ropes. Dustin starts to fire back. Floyd with a chop. Dustin fires back some more. Floyd catches him with a Deal Breaker. Floyd goes up top, but misses a top rope splash as Dustin rolls away. Dustin hits Floyd with a Deal Breaker! Dustin hits another Deal Breaker. He charges, but Floyd rolls him up into the modified Boston crab! Dustin almost gets to the ropes, but Floyd pulls him back to the middle.
All of a sudden, oVe's Madman Fulton & Ace Austin run out from the side entrance! Ace kicks Floyd in the back of the head as Fulton hits Dustin with a BTB.
They continue to pound on them as the OVW locker room empties and Ace & Fulton retreat.

TELEVISION TITLE GAUNTLET:
Maximus Khan defeats Jay Bradley (c). Khan goes right after Jay. They fight in the corners exchanging hits and chops. Jay with a snap suplex. He clubs Khan across the back and slams him near the corner. He hits an elbow off the middle rope for 2. Khan fires back and chops Jay. Off the ropes, Khan hits a big clothesline, then another. He slams Jay and hits a Claymore kick. He goes for a spear, but Jay knees him in the face. Khan back with a spear and the 3.
Maximus Khan defeats Vineeshhh. Khan takes Vinny down with a shoulder block and a slam. Vinny claws Khan's eyes and works over the arm. Khan misses a charge in the corner, but comes back with a spear for the 3.
Maximus Khan defeats Chace. Chace drops a glove and acts like he is going to pick it up. He tries to get a cheap shot on Khan, but Khan ducks and spears him for the 3.
Maximus Khan defeats Colton Cage. Colton trips Khan up and clotheslines him as he gets in the ring. He hits him and locks in a sleeper. He hits him in the corner. Khan rolls him up for 2 and Colton goes back on the attack. Khan with some shots to the midsection. Colton kicks him. A shot from Khan. He clotheslines Colton in the corner, but Colton rakes the eyes. He goes for the scissor kick, but Khan moves and hits the spear for the 3.
Maximus Khan defeats Drew Hernandez. Drew goes right after him and tries the Mayan Apocalypse, but Khan hits his way out. Drew bulldozes him and knocks him out of the ring. He goes to kick Khan as he gets back in, but Khan shoulders his way in. He flips in and hits a spear for the 3.
After the match, Ace Austin & Madman Fulton hit the ring again and attack Khan & Drew.
Leonis Khan runs out, but gets taken down too. Dustin Jackson & Randall Floyd run out with chairs and chase them out the side door.
Dean Hill calls oVe to get back out here. They finally come back out and Fulton says "He" told them to be here September 11. Dean says he doesn't care who this "He" is, but they will not be there. Fulton says to listen himself.
Sami Callihan appears on screen and asks if he was missed. He says of course he was, because he is "the Draw" and oVe is one of the best groups of all time. He will be back for September 11, and as a matter of fact, he will be back next week! Dean says if they want to compete so bad, how about Ace tells the big assassin to go to the back and gets in the ring right now if he has the "cahonies"!
Ace Austin defeats "Category 5" Corey Storm. Ace offers a handshake, then tries to kick Corey. Corey ducks and hits a flying headscissors. He rolls him up for 2. Corey leaps up in the corner, but Ace kicks him in the back. Ace with some offense. Corey goes for a kick to the head, but Ace ducks. He papercuts Corey with an Ace card. He takes him down and hits a legdrop for 2. He knees Corey in the head. He hits a standing frog splash for 2 as Corey grabs the ropes. He locks in a sleeper. Corey works up and hits a chinbuster to break out of it. He hits a kick to the head and a cutter out of the corner for 2. He delivers another kick and hits the Eye of the Storm. Madman Fulton is back out and the ref is distracted by him. Justin Smooth sneaks in the side entrance and hits Corey with Street Justice. Ace recovers to get the 3.

This ended the TV taping.
