OVW TV 1070: Shots Fired at Khan!

This is the OVW Report for Tuesday, February 11, 2020. OVW TV can be seen LIVE at 8PM ET on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area as well as Youtube! OVW Overdrive can be seen on Saturdays at 11AM. You can also find OVW TV on the OVW Network.

In this episode, Maximus Khan defends the Heavyweight Title in a rematch against Justin Smooth, Sinn Bodhi is in action, plus more!

Here we go...

OVW Overdrive (Airing Saturdays at 11AM):

Tony Bizo defeats "The Nephilim" D'mone Solavino. Quick crucifix pin attempt and reverse roll-up pin attempt by D'mone. D'mone with another crucifix into a sunset flip for 2. Bizo catches D'mone with a spinebuster, then 3 hard clotheslines. He then hits the Bizo Bottom for the 3.

Luscious Lawrence & William Lutz defeat Trent Ware & Gustavo. Trent takes down Lutz. Both men tag out. Gustavo with a dropkick, hurricanrana, and arm drag off the ropes. Lawrence drives him into the corner and Lutz tags in and works him over. Gustavo escapes Lutz' grasp and gets the tag to Trent. Trent fires away and hits a kick to Lutz. He goes up top, but Lawrence shoves him off the top rope. Lutz knocks Gustavo off the other top rope and rolls up Trent with a handful of tights for the 3.

Dapper Dan vs. KTD. Dan attacks him before the bell and clubs him in the back. Dan slams him and drops a fist for 2. KTD with a quick roll-up for 1. Dan clubs him across the chest and throws him off the ropes for a back body drop. KTD tries to fire back, but runs right into a Death Valley Driver for 2 as Dan pulls him up. He continues clubbing him and pulls him up again at 2. Dan continues pummeling him, so the ref calls for the bell and rules it a no-contest.
He continues the beating until Crixus comes out and runs him off. Dan yells at him to stay out of his business.

"The Trent Twins": Brent & Brandon defeat "The Bro God" Dustin Jackson & Anthony Catena. The twins use their agility and speed to keep Catena & Dustin off their feet. It didn't help that Catena & Dustin couldn't get along. They fight over who should be in and try for the pin, and it eventually results in Dustin shoving Catena down into a roll-up for the 3.

Jay Bradley (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeats Sam Adonis. Quick back and forth opening. They fight out onto the outside where Jay hits his leg aross the apron, then misses a clubbing blow. They fight around ringside, with Jay going into the ringpost, then Sam hitting the post as Jay moves. Back inside, Jay misses a boot and Sam flies off the top. Jay throws him into the corner and does hit a boot, then slams him. He misses the jumping elbow off the second rope. Sam with big boots and a clothesline takedown. Sam goes up, but Jay hits the ropes. He goes up with him, but Sam hits him off and hits a flying body press. Off the ropes, Josh trips Sam and Jay connects with a Boomstick for the 3.

We start out with a recap of what happened between Maximus Khan, Justin Smooth, & Tony Gunn from last week.

HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: "The Trinidad Titan" Justin Smooth vs. Maximus Khan.
Smooth hits Street Justice before the bell, knocking Khan out of the ring. Smooth rolls him in and the bell rings. Smooth covers for 2. Khan kicks out. He tries again for another 2. Khan fires back on the apron and shoulders Smooth in the gut. Khan leaps in with a sunset flip for 2. Smooth catches Khan with a shot to the face that knocks him back down to the mat. Khan drives and shoulders Smooth into the corner. He chops him, then delivers a big uppercut. He runs into a clothesline from Smooth, but then catches Smooth with a big spinebuster. Smooth catches Khan with a shot to the jaw, then rams him face-first into the turnbuckle. He chokes Khan in the ropes. Khan with a quick roll-up attempt for 2. Smooth kicks Khan and stomps him on the mat. He goes for a slam, but Khan slides out and slams Smooth. He slams him again, then a third time. He sets up for the spear, but Smooth side steps it. Khan runs into the corner full steam. Smooth covers him for 2. Smooth throws him out of the ring. Smooth fires away against the barricade. He knees him in the face and hits his head off the apron. Back inside, he locks Khan in a submission, cutting off the circulation to his head. Off the ropes, Khan catches Smooth with a back body drop. He clotheslines Smooth so hard over the top rope, it takes him over and out also. He hits Smooth around ringside. Back inside, Smooth holds the ref and kicks Khan below the belt where the ref couldn't see it. Smooth covers for 2 as Khan kicks out. Smooth pounds away and stomps him. Smooth pulls him by the dreads, then locks in another sleeper. The ref checks him, but Khan is not out. Khan gets up and rams Smooth repeatedly into the corners to break the hold. Khan with several huge clotheslines and the leaping clothesline from across the ring off the ropes. He misses a spear, then ducks Street Justice. He charges Smooth again, Smooth moves and connects with Street Justice this time for 2! Khan somehow kicks out again. Khan catches a boot from Smooth, slings him off the ropes, and connects with the spear for the 3!
WINNER and STILL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: MAXIMUS by pinfall.
Tony Gunn appears on the monitor congratulating Khan on his win. He said he promised he would get his attention and the camera pans out to show he has invaded Khan's home with Khan's wife and child. Maximus takes off out of the ring and through the side door.

Dimes is in the back and says they have another match. Corey Storm says he left him out there last week. Dimes says he knows and he shouldn't have pushed him. Storm says they need a win, just to concentrate on tonight.

Maximus & Leonis Khan are shown speeding out of the parking lot.

Chace & Nigel vs. Dimes & Rush Champion "The Prince of Flight" Corey Storm.
Dimes & Storm with quick teamwork early, keeping Nigel & Chace off their feet. Storm knocks Nigel off the apron, then turns into a kick the bad arm from Chace. They work over his arm, until he gets a hot tag to Dimes. Dimes dropkicks Nigel off the apron, then grounds and pounds Chace. He drop toeholds Nigel into Chace's lap and throws Nigel out. He connects with the Change Maker, then Storm follows it up with the Eye of the Storm for the 3.
WINNERS: DIMES & STORM by pinfall.

We see Melvin Maximus & Mrs. Marvelous in the back. She says she is so sorry, the last few weeks have been like a blur.

"The Mayan Mauler" Drew Hernandez vs. "The Warlord of Weird" Sinn Bodhi.
Sinn goes immediately after Drew and repeatedly sits on Drew. Drew fires back and hits Sinn into the corner turnbuckle. A big slam, then another. He goes for the Mayan Apocalypse, but Sinn slides out and headbutts him. He tears his pants leg off and claws Drew's thigh. Drew fights back and goes for the Mayan Apocalypse again, but Sinn falls on top of him. He chokeslams himself on Drew, then ties his leg up on the ropes and stomps it before chokeslamming himself on Drew several more times. He locks Drew up in a leglock submission. He tries to pin for 2, then claws the leg again. He locks the legs up again and Drew kicks him off. Drew hobbles at Sinn, but Sinn kicks the leg back out from under him. He continues to kick at the leg. Sinn is on top of him in the corner, and Drew powerbombs him out of the corner for the 3!
WINNER: DREW by pinfall.
We see the Khans arrive back at home to go after Tony Gunn and check on Maximus' wife and child.
