OVW SNS: Nightmare Rumble 2021

This is the OVW Saturday Night Special Report for Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Tonight, a SOLD OUT crowd returns to Davis Arena to see the Nightmare Rumble crown a NEW OVW Heavyweight Champion, who will then go on to face Jessie Godderz in the main event for the National Heavyweight Title!

The Rush Division Title will also be up for grabs as William Lutz defends it in a 7-man scramble, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Bryan Kennison, & Steven Johnson are on commentary, Eric Cornish, Ms. Stephanie, & Ms. Linda K. are the ring announcers.

"Leader of the Executive Order" Koda Jacobs vs. "The Final Boss" Bruce Wayans.

Koda offers a handshake and then slaps Bruce in the face. Bruce fires back and double axehandles Koda repeatedly in the corner. Bruce goes after him in the corner, but Koda uses the ref to poke Bruce in the eyes. He works him over and uses Bruce's tie to pull him down. Bruce back with the Big Boss Slam for the 3.

WINNER: WAYANS by pinfall.

LAST CHANCE BATTLE ROYAL to get in the NIGHTMARE RUMBLE:

A lot of new guys in the ring including OVW regulars such as KTD, Ashton Cove, Steve Michaels, & JC Addams. Steve Michaels eliminates most of the field and is the last man standing.

WINNER: MICHAELS.

NIGHTMARE RUMBLE:

First two men are Gustavo and Luscious Lawrence. Brandon Espinosa is out #3. #4 is AJZ. #5 is Ryan Howe. #6 is Tom Coffey. Howe eliminates Espinosa.

#7 is Big Zo. #8 is D'mone Solavino. #9 is Omar Amir. Omar eliminates Coffey, clotheslining him over the top rope. Omar powerbombs D'mone to the floor to eliminate him. #10 is Reverend Ronnie Roberts. Ronnie runs down the crowd, then gets eliminated by Omar. Truth Magnum is #11. #12 is Atiba.

Kal Herro is lucky #13. #14 is Steve Michaels. Michaels immediately eliminates Magnum, Herro, & Atiba. Michaels tosses Gustavo out. Michaels also eliminates Zo! #15 is the Gilpinator. Omar eliminates Michaels! #16 is Amon. #17 is Ca$h Flo. Ca$h opens up the chop shop and eliminates Amon. #18 is Brent Tate. #19 is Turbo Floyd.

#20 is Elliott Russell. #21 is Brandon Tate. The Tates toss AJZ. The Tates eliminate Luscious. #22 is Matt Sigmon. Brent, Sigmon, & Russell are eliminated. Brandon eliminates himself diving out on Sigmon & Russell after they hit Brent with a chair. #23 is Tony Gunn. Gunn eliminates Howe. #24 is William Lutz. #25 is Tony Bizo. Lutz eliminates Bizo. Gunn eliminates Lutz. Gilpinator eliminates Gunn. #26 is Drew Hernandez. #27 is Bruce Wayans. #28 is AJ Daniels. #29 is Dustin Jackson. Dustin takes Drew & Floyd both out with a running boot. #30 is Tony Gunn's second chance. Gunn immediately goes after and eliminates Gilpinator. Gunn takes out Bruce, then AJ. #31 is Mahabali Shera.

Shera takes out Dustin. The final 4 are Ca$h, Shera, Omar, & Gunn. Omar clotheslines Shera out. Omar & Ca$h knock Gunn out. Omar then takes down Ca$h off the apron!

WINNER and NEW OVW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: OMAR AMIR.

"Hollyhood" Haley J vs. Joseline Navarro.

Haley with some early offense. Joseline with a snap DDT. Some back and forth action, then Joseline with a roll in and takes Haley down with a hard shot. She boots her in the face for 2. Joseline throws her into the turnbuckle. Luscious Lawrence comes out and pulls Haley out of harm's way when Joseline sets up for her finisher. Haley hits her from behind, with Joseline distracted by Luscious, with a sock of rocks and gets the 3.

WINNER: HALEY J by pinfall.

7-MAN SCRAMBLE for the OVW RUSH TITLE: Star Rider vs. JC Addams vs. Rohit Raju vs. "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya vs. "Zero Gravity" AJ Daniels vs. Ace Austin vs. William Lutz (c).

Extremely fast-paced action. In the end, Hy knocks Lutz off the top rope, then drops a leg off the top rope down on AJ for the 3.

WINNER and NEW RUSH CHAMPION: HY ZAYA by pinfall.

SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: "The Heatseekers": Matt Sigmon & Elliott Russell vs. "The Tate Twins": Brandon & Brent (c).

 Quick offense early from the Tates, but the Heatseekers take control. Finally, a hot tag to Brandon. He takes it to both Sigmon & Russell, hitting a back elbow off the ropes and a hurricanrana. He takes Russell down for 2. Brent goes up top, but Russell throws Brandon into him and then Russell slams Brandon and Sigmon hits a flying headbutt for 2 as Brent puts Brandon's foot on the ropes. A small package, and Russell rolls Sigmon on top, but Brent rolls Brandon back over on top as Russell has his back turned on the apron. The Tates pick up the 3.

WINNERS and STILL SOUTHERN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: TATES by pinfall.

OVW NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Heavyweight Champion Omar Amir vs. "Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz (w/Shannon the Dude) (c).

Godderz rams Omar into the corner. Omar with a hip toss. Godderz knocks him out of the ring, and STD hits Omar in the back. Godderz suplexes him back in and clotheslines him hard as Omar tries to rally. Godderz gets him in the Adonis Lock, but Omar gets to the ropes. Godderz puts his knee across Omar's throat. He locks up the left arm and Omar escapes. Godderz charges him in the corner, but Omar moves and clotheslines him several times. A sidewalk slam for 2. Godderz dropkicks Omar into the referee, knocking the ref out of the ring completely. Ca$h Flo comes out and takes out Godderz! Omar back in and hits a spinebuster. Godderz kicks out at 2. Another big clothesline, then another from Omar. He slams him and splashes Godderz in the corner. Another big clothesline. Omar with a German suplex. STD gets on the apron. The ref ejects him from ringside. Tony Gunn then comes out from the side and low blows Omar, while the ref is making STD go to the back! Godderz gets the 3.

WINNER and STILL NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: GODDERZ by pinfall.
