OVW TV 1120: A Pec-tacular Gunn Show?

This is the OVW Report for Tuesday, January 19, 2021. In this episode, Hy Zaya defends the Rush Title against former champion William Lutz in a 1-on-1 rematch, a fatal 4 way for the #1 contendership for the Rush Title, plus more!

OVW Overdrive (Airing Saturdays at 11AM):

Eric Cornish & AJ McKay are on commentary, Ms. Stephanie is the ring announcer.

"The Legacy of Brutality": Big Zo & Steve Michaels (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) vs. "Southern Discomfort": Snake Williams & Jebidiah Blackhawk.

Jeb & Snake with the early offense, making quick tags and taking it to Zo. Zo tags out to Steve. Jeb with a side headlock, but Steve squeezes him and Jeb slides out. Snake tags in and runs into a bearhug. He claps Steve's ears to get out of it. Both men tag. Jeb fires away on Zo and then Steve. Snake gets knocked off the apron, and Zo & Steve deliver a double chokeslam to Jeb for the 3.

WINNERS: LEGACY by pinfall.

"The Iron Bear" Tom Coffey vs. Ca$h Flo (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft).

Coffey with some early shots, then Ca$h chops back and stomps him in the corner. Coffet back with a clothesline off the ropes, then a chop of his own and a hard right. He hits Ca$h off the top turnbuckle, then slams. He charges Ca$h in the corner, but Ca$h jumps up and drops across him. He hits a running splash in the corner, then stomps a mudhole in him. A hard chop, then a chop off. Off the ropes, Ca$h takes him down with a running splash. He goes up top and hits the frog splash for the 3.

WINNER: CA$H by pinfall.

"Hollyhood" Haley J (w/Luscious Lawrence) vs. Arie Alexander.

Arie controls most of the match. Haley needs an early timeout on the outside. Arie with a drop down in the corner and pulls her out for 2. She hits a German suplex. Luscious gets on the apron and kisses the ref while throwing the sock of rocks to Haley. Haley whacks Arie in the head and gets the 3.

WINNER: HALEY by pinfall.

Heath Hatton vs. "Zero Gravity" AJ Daniels.

Heath slings AJ across the ring. Heath charges, but runs into a drop toehold. Heath comes back and pounds AJ in the corner. AJ with a kick to the face, but Heath with a suplex. Heath pins for 2. He drops a knee, then pins again for 2. Heath with a chinlock, but AJ works up and hits a reverse cross body off the ropes for 2. He runs into a big boot, then Heath pounds him on the mat and stomps him in the face. Heath with a vertical suplex and a hard throw into the corner. A couple big rights, but AJ starts to fire up. He hits a leg sweep and the Countdown to Zero kicks. Heath catches the last one and kicks AJ in the gut. He goes for a backdrop, but AJ flips over and hits an enziguri. He goes up top and connects with the 450 splash for the 3.

WINNER: AJ by pinfall.

"The Golden Boy" AJZ vs. Ryan Howe.

Back and forth match early. Howe targets the arm and locks in the Whammy Bar, but AJZ gets out of it. Howe stays on the attack and kicks AJZ in the head from the apron. Back inside, he hits the Chart Topper. He goes for the pin, but AJZ rolls over to the corner and throws up an "X". He tells the ref he's hurt, to stop the match. While the ref checks on him, AJZ kicks Howe below the belt and rolls him up with a handful of tights for the 3.

WINNER: AJZ by pinfall.

FATAL 4 WAY (WINNER BECOMES #1 CONTENDER for the RUSH TITLE): Gustavo vs. KarDaniel "Demolition" Dunn vs. JC Addams vs. Star Rider.

 Very quick offense early. Gustavo with a dive outside on JC & Dunn, then Star dives out on all 3. Back inside, JC with a running knee to Gustavo. Side suplexes by Dunn to JC. In the corner, Gustavo with a kick to Star's head, then a double superplex and powerbomb combo with all 4 men and they all go down. Star with a frog splash as Gustavo has JC covered for 2 as Dunn breaks the pin. Dunn goes up top and hits a flying headbutt on Star for the 3.

WINNER and NEW #1 RUSH CONTENDER: DUNN by pinfall.

Brandon Espinosa vs. Mahabali Shera.

Espy attacks Shera as he comes in the ring, but he goes off the ropes right into a pop-up spinebuster slam for the 3.

WINNER: SHERA by pinfall.

Reverend Ronnie Roberts comes to the ring for another edition of "The Good Word". He said it got a little hot last week in his first installment. Tonight's guests are Luscious Lawrence & Haley J. The Rev gets under Haley's skin talking about her win over Joseline Navarro using the sock of rocks and her relationship with Luscious. Luscious has to keep her held back from going after him.

NON-TITLE TAG MATCH: "The Nephilim" D'mone Solavino & "Action" Ashton Cove vs. Southern Tag Team Champions "The Tate Twins": Brandon & Brent.

The Tates with quick tags early and often against Cove, then D'mone. Brent back elbows Cove, then pulls down the rope for D'mone to fly outside. D'mone pulls Brandon off the apron, then Cove attacks Brent. Brent quickly regains momentum and tags to Brandon. They knock Cove out of the ring, then deliver a double front faceslam to D'mone for the 3.

WINNERS: TATES by pinfall.

Heath Hatton vs. Dustin Jackson.

Heath with some quick shots in the corner. Dustin back with an arm drag, hip toss, and the picture-perfect dropkick. He spells "BRO" with hits in the corner, but Heath takes out the leg. He pins for 2. Dustin fires back and splashes Heath in the corner. He delivers a bulldog, then the Michinoku Driver. He goes up top, delivers the Derby City Dive, and gets the 3.

WINNER: DUSTIN by pinfall.

RUSH TITLE: William Lutz vs. "The Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) (c).

Hy with a spear, some kicks, and the super quick punches on the mat. He throws Lutz to the floor and slams him. He hits his head off the table, then dives across the table on him. He goes up top after rolling Lutz in, but Lutz hits the ropes. He goes for a hurricanrana, but knocks him off and jumps across his legs. He sits him up top and hits him, but Lutz kicks him away and hits a flip dive onto Hy for 2. Lutz puts Hy up top and goes for a hurricanrana again, but Hy blocks it and delivers a Styles Clash. Lutz back with an eat de-feet. A reverse cross body out of the corner, but Josh trips him off the ropes. Lutz hits the flipping neckbreaker. Josh gets on the apron, but Tony Gunn, Jessie Godderz, & Shannon the Dude come out. Gunn has the Rush Title and hits (accidentally?) Hy with it. Jessie gets in, but Lutz dumps him out of the ring. Lutz goes up top and hits the moonsault for the 3!

WINNER and NEW RUSH CHAMPION: LUTZ by pinfall.

OVW Post-Show Dark:

"The Complete Package" Tony Bizo & Luscious Lawrence (w/"Hollyhood" Haley J) vs. "Shotgun" Tony Gunn & National Heavyweight Champion "Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz (w/Shannon the Dude).

Lots of back and forth action with interference from STD & Haley. Luscious fights Gunn on the outside while Jessie locks in the Boston crab on Bizo. The ref sees STD helping and throws him out. Haley then knocks out Jessie with the sock of rocks and gets thrown out. Meanwhile, Gunn hits Bizo with the Killshot and has Jessie cover him for the 3.

WINNERS: GODDERZ & GUNN by pinfall.
