OVW TV 1185: Lights Out


This is the OVW Report for Thursday, April 28, 2022.

TONIGHT:
-OVW Heavyweight Champion Ryan Howe teams up with Tony Bizo to face the duo of Omar Amir & National Champion Mahabali Shera! 
-Jessie Godderz & Tony Gunn try again to get back in the win column in a rematch against the Outrunners!
-Women's action sees Women's Champion Leila Grey in action, as well as Freya the Slaya!
-Plus, Amon is in action against D'mone Solavino, Luscious Lawrence goes 1-on-1 with Koda Jacobs, and much more!

PRE-SHOW:
Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

Carson Drake
 vs. Joe Mack.
They lock up and Mack shoves Drake down. They lock up again into the corner and Drake pokes Mack in the eye. Mack reverses a throw and clotheslines Drake in the opposite corner. Drake grabs his megaphone and blares a siren in Mack's ears. Drake momentarily takes control, but runs into a big boot. Mack plants him with a spinebuster and picks up the 3.
WINNER: MACK by pinfall.

"The Devine One" Olivia Devine vs. Charlie Kruel
.
Kruel wants to share her pop tarts, but Olivia throws them out in the crowd. Devine attacks her and chokes her in the corner with her boot. She locks in a sleeper, but Kruel starts to fire back. She knees Olivia in the face. Olivia reverses a throw to the corner, but Kruel avoids a charge. Olivia hits the corner and Kruel rolls her up for the 3.
WINNER: KRUEL by pinfall.

"Double A"
Arie Alexander (w/"Rockstar" Ryan Howe) vs. "Savage, Not Average" Judi Hendrix
.
Judi locks in a side headlock, then Arie pulls her down by her hair. Judi fires up and hits Arie in the corner. She hits a snapmare and running kick for 2. Arie pulls her down into the corner turnbuckle. Howe gets on the apron and kisses Judi on the head. Judi hits Howe down. She fires up again and hits a t-bone suplex. She gets Arie on her shoulders, but Arie slides off and hits a German suplex. She follows up with a modified pedigree and gets the 3.
WINNER: ARIE by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):
Bryan Kennison, Dancin' Stevie J, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

Maximo Suave vs. "The Star of the Show" Star Rider.
Star with a hard back elbow, but goes looking for Hy Zaya again. Back inside, Suave takes Star down and hits a swinging neckbreaker. Star rolls out and Suave goes to leap out, but Star catches him with a super kick. He looks for Hy some more. Back in, he hits Suave with a nice dropkick and stomps him. Suave comes back with some clotheslines. Star reverses a throw, but Suave catches him with a side slam. Suave tries to grab Star, but he knocks Suave down and hits a double foot stomp. He charges him with a hard dropkick into the corner, then hits Orion's Belt from the top for the 3.
WINNER: STAR by pinfall.

"The Legacy of Brutality"
Big Zo & Steve Michaels (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) vs. 
"The Rogue One" DNA & "The Viking" Roger Mathis
Side headlock to Zo by DNA. Roger tags in and hits Zo with a hard shot. Zo tags Steve in and Roger gets him in a side headlock. DNA tags himself in and tries to clothesline Steve. Steve grabs him and hits a big fall away slam. DNA breaks away from a hold by Steve and tags Roger. He charges in, but is quickly taken down. Steve runs back in after tagging Zo and knocks DNA off the apron as Zo hits Roger with a Zo Bomb for the 3!
WINNERS: L.O.B. by pinfall.

NON-TITLE MATCH: OVW Kentucky Champion "Flawless" Jake Lawless vs. "Suplex Shogun" Jackson Stone.
Stone shoves Jake down. He knocks Jake to the mat, but misses a big stomp. Jake rolls out. Stone goes to grab him, but Jake rakes his face, then sweeps out his legs. Jake leaps in over the top
rope with an elbow drop. He tries to cover for 1. Jake attacks the arm and works it over. Stone catches him with a big release German suplex and hits him in the corner. He hits a t-bone suplex for 2. Jake grabs the title and goes to hit Stone, but the ref takes it away. With the ref's back turned, Jake kicks Stone below the belt and hits him with Crossroads for the 3.
WINNER: LAWLESS by pinfall.

In the back, Tony Gunn tells Jessie Godderz that he's tried it Jessie's way twice the last 2 weeks and they got 2 big L's to show for it. He says Jessie was a National Champion, he was a Heavyweight Champion, and they were once tag champions. He says just once, let's try it his way. Jessie says fine.

"The Queen of the North"
 Freya the Slaya vs. "The Spark" Jada Stone.
Jada ducks an attack and hits a headscissors that sends Freya to the corner. Freya dumps Jada to the apron, but Jada lands on her feet and kicks Freya in the head. Jada goes up top, but Freya grabs her and slams her off hard to the mat. Freya controls the remainder of the match, finishing Jada off with a chokeslam and the legdrop.
WINNER: FREYA by pinfall.
After the match, Freya threatens Leila Grey. She is going to destroy her at Derby City Destruction to the point she will be unrecognizable. She warns her that Freya is going to slay!

"The Outrunners"
: Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum vs. "The PEC-Tacular Gunns""Shotgun" Tony Gunn & "Mr. PEC-Tacular" Jessie Godderz.
Jessie tags himself in early, but seems to be on the same page with Tony. They are able to thwart attacks from the Outrunners. Tony hits a hard clothesline and shoulder into Turbo in the corner. He runs in with a knee, then takes out the trash. He goes up top, but Truth shoves him off the ropes as Turbo distracts the ref. Truth chokes Tony in the ropes. Off the ropes, Tony hits a sunset flip for 2. Turbo gets a shot in as Truth distracts the ref. Truth hits Tony on the mat and throws him hard into the corner. Turbo tags in and cranks Tony's neck in a submission. He then moves to the arm. Tony tries to headbutt his way away from Turbo. Off the ropes, Tony hits Turbo with a cross body, but didn't see Truth blind tag. He stomps Tony, then stomps him in the corner. Truth misses a charge, and Tony rolls him up for 2. Truth drags Tony to his corner and tags Turbo. Jessie tries to get in, but the ref has to keep him out. Truth comes in without a tag and chops Tony. Tony fires up and chops Truth and Turbo, but they double team him. Turbo hits Tony with a suplex. Turbo goes for another suplex. Tony blocks it and rolls him up in a small package for 2 as Truth kicks Tony and breaks the count. Truth hits Tony and Turbo tags back in. He misses elbow drops, and Tony hits a backdrop. Truth runs in, but Tony throws him right back out. Turbo grabs Tony's foot, but he hits an enziguri. He goes to tag Jessie, but Truth pulls Jessie off the apron. Turbo gets taken down by Tony's reverse DDT. Jessie finally gets the tag and goes for the press slam on Truth. Turbo takes out his knee. They go for their finisher on Jessie, but Tony gets back in and plows Truth down. Jessie & Tony have each other's backs, firing away on Truth & Turbo. Jessie hits Truth with the Press Slam. Tony then nails Truth with the Killshot as Jessie spears Turbo for the 3!
WINNERS: PEC-TACULAR GUNNS by pinfall.
 
OVW TV (HOUR 2):
Bryan Kennison, Dancin' Stevie J, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

"Southern Discomfort": Jebediah Blackhawk & Snake Williams Jr. vs. Reverend Ronnie Roberts & "The Mercenary" Garrisaon Creed.
Before the match can get started, the lights go out and Dysfunction's music hits. You hear chair shots in the ring, and Ronnie is yelling. When the lights come back on, Jeb, Snake, the referee, & Creed are all down, and Ronnie is taped to the ropes.
NO CONTEST.

In the back, Jessie Godderz says he doesn't want an interview without Tony Gunn. He walks through the back and can't find him, but sees a lot of bodies knocked out.

"The Candidate for a Brighter Future in Wrestling"
 Koda Jacobs vs. "Mr. Juicy" Luscious Lawrence.
Luscious throws Koda to the corner and hits a running butt bump. He does another, then goes for the Rump Thumper, but Koda moves. Luscious goes to grab him, but Koda pulls his head down in the ropes. Koda kicks him and goes for a suplex. Luscious blocks it and delivers his own. He hits two double axehandles off the top rope. Luscious finishes him off with the One Night Stand for the 3, then delivers the Rump Thumper to Koda after the bell to the delight of the fans.
WINNER: LUSCIOUS by pinfall.

In the back, Star Rider says it's obvious that Hy Zaya is the one behind the reason the lights are going out. He tries to rally up some people from the back to go take Hy out.

"The Midwest Ace" TW3 vs. OVW Rush Division Champion "The Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya.
Hy with a side headlock. TW3 tries to get out, but Hy takes him down to the mat. Off the ropes, Hy plows TW3 down. Hy locks him up from behind. TW3 reverses. Hy reverses back, then TW3 reverses again. Off the ropes, Hy with a shoulder takedown. Hy with an arm drag and some chops in the corner. TW3 rakes the eyes of Hy and kicks him in the head. He covers for 2. Hy comes back with a hip toss and slam. TW3 misses a kick and Hy hits an inverted piledriver. He goes up and nails Ninja Vanish for the 3.
WINNER: HY ZAYA by pinfall.

In the back, Star Rider tells his gang that they need to stay focused because he knows Hy Zaya is behind this. Someone in the back gets taken out and Star is convinced it was Hy.

Michelle Green vs. OVW Women's Champion "The Unstoppable Danger" Leila Grey.
Quick offense back and forth early. Green takes Grey down and locks in a submission. Grey fights out and throws Green to the corner. She runs in with a high knee, then bulldogs her out of the corner. Grey connects with a double underhook facebuster off her knee for the 3.
WINNER: GREY by pinfall.

"The Nephilim"
 D'mone Solavino vs. "Satan's Favorite Sinner" Amon.
D'mone avoids an attack and hits Amon in the top turnbuckle. Amon keeps hitting his head into the turnbuckle, then clotheslines D'mone hard. He hits D'mone with the STH for the 3.
WINNER: AMON by pinfall.
After the match, Amon puts his chain around D'mone and appears to put him under a spell. He has D'mone get up and speak for him about his match with
Crixus on Saturday at Derby City Destruction.
 
In the back, Star Rider approaches Hy Zaya with his gang and says he finally found him and knows he has been the one behind the attacks tonight. He said throwing someone down the stairs was going too far. He's bringing back his "L.O.B." shenanigans. The lights go out and there's a lot of noise. When they come on, Star appears from hiding behind a backdrop and everyone has been taken out.

OVW Heavyweight Champion
"Rockstar" Ryan Howe & "The Complete Package" Tony Bizo (w/"Double A" Arie Alexander, Dr. Ricky Jones, & "Hollyhood" Haley J) vs. Omar Amir & OVW National Champion "The Indian Lion" Mahabali Shera.
Howe & Bizo keep tagging each other in, because neither wants to be in the ring with their opponents for this Saturday. The lights go out again. This time, Dysfunction is in the ring and everyone is laid out. Reverend Ronnie Roberts & Garrisaon Creed are out with the entire locker room.
They surround the ring.
Luke Kurtis & Charlie Kruel both get in the ring and get hit by a chair. Dysfunction escapes out the side door.
NO CONTEST.

This ended the TV taping.
