OVW TV #728: "Could Jay Bradley Survive the Welsh Colossus?"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, July 31, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this final episode before the next Saturday Night Special on August 3rd, Jay Bradley meets Rob Terry, Dylan Bostic defends the OVW Television Title against Flash Flanagan, the Femme Fatales compete in a battle royal for #1 contendership for the OVW Women's Title, plus more!

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Jack Dundee vs. Mohamad Ali Vaez (w/Michael Hayes).
Jack & Ali lock up. Jack with a fireman's carry. Ali back with an arm drag. Ali hits a dropkick, but Jack is back with a clothesline. He goes up top, but misses a moonsault. Ali hits a chinbuster, a backdrop, and finishes Jack off with the neckbreaker drop for the pin.
WINNER: ALI by pinfall.

The Marauders come out and Shiloh grabs a mic and says that their dynasty, their warpath, begins tonight. Nothing is going to stop them. Someone is going to try and test them tonight...
Raul LaMotta (w/Shiloh Jonze, Joe Coleman, & Flash Flanagan) vs. Elvis Pridemoore.
Raul attacks Elvis, firing away on him. He slams him and stomps him in the stomach. He kicks Elvis in the corner and snapmares him out. Elvis starts to fire back, hitting a roundhouse kick, and then jumping on him across the second rope. He hits Raul with a flying fist. Off the ropes again, Raul catches Elvis and hangs him up across the top rope. He hits a reverse Russian leg sweep, planting Elvis on his face for the 3.
WINNER: RAUL by pinfall.

4M: "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus vs. Eddie F. Diamond (w/Timmy Danger).
4M gets EFD in the corner. He goes to hit him, but EFD moves. 4M hits EFD and slams him. He drops an elbow. EFD picks himself up in the corner. 4M charges, but EFD moves. EFD with several spinning back elbows, but 4M doesn't go down. EFD goes up top and connects with one to 4M, and gets the 3.
WINNER: EFD by pinfall.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 12 noon with replays Wednesdays at 9PM after WWE Main Event.

The show starts off with Dean Hill sending condolences to the friends and family of former USWA commentator and Memphis wrestling staple, Corey Maclin, who passed away following a car accident.

In the back, Jay Bradley yells at Chris Sharpe to do something about the contract and his match with Rob Terry since he's the senior official. Sharpe says he is not an attorney. He says that Jay got to pick Marcus Anthony to go against Jamin Olivencia last week, and Jamin picked Rob Terry to go against him tonight. Jay says fine.

"VIP" Joe Rosa (w/"The VIP Club" J. Best & Roberto De Luna) vs. Michael Hayes (w/Mohamad Ali Vaez).
Rosa says they play by "VIP rules" meaning that anyone can fight at anytime. In this case, "The Mexicutioner" will be facing Hayes.
"The Mexicutioner" Roberto De Luna (w/"VIP" Joe Rosa & J. Best) vs. Michael Hayes (w/Mohamad Ali Vaez).
Roberto shoves Hayes down twice. He throws haymakers at Hayes, but Hayes ducks. Hayes runs into a shoulder tackle. Hayes fires back, and is able to deliver a shoulder tackle to Roberto and take him off his feet. He drops a headbutt, but Roberto moves. Roberto hits a side slam and rams Hayes in the corner. Roberto fires away and headbutts Hayes, but Hayes starts to hulk up. Hayes fires back, hits a backdrop, and hits a flying headbutt. He locks Roberto in a crossface, but VIP interferes. Ali chases him to the back. Roberto rolls Hayes up, but Hayes kicks out at 2 and locks Roberto back in the crossface. Best gets on the apron, and Ali takes him down. With the ref distracted, VIP runs back out and clocks Hayes in the back of the head with the champagne bucket. Roberto gets the 3.
WINNER: ROBERTO by pinfall.

In the back, Jay Bradley tells Marcus Anthony that dogs that don't obey are put down. Marcus says he is looking for a shot at the title as well. Jay attacks Marcus and injures his leg as he yells that he is in the BFG series and after Saturday, he will be OVW Heavyweight Champion.

Jamin Olivencia is on the phone with Big Rob Terry, who hasn't made it to the arena yet due to car trouble. Tony Gunn and Rudy Switchblade are standing nearby. Jamin asks if they can help him out. They say they would love to, but have a lot going on with Randy Royal and the TV Title picture. Jamin understands, and Rudy and Gunn promise each other that they'll watch each other's backs.

The Marauders are back again. Shiloh Jonze says the OVW you used to know is no more, and their warpath begins tonight.
OVW TELEVISION TITLE: Flash Flanagan (w/Shiloh Jonze, Raul LaMotta, & Joe Coleman (on commentary)) vs. "The King of Pink & Justin Bieber of Professional Wrestling" Dylan Bostic (c).
Flash fires away. He gets Bostic in the corner and misses an attack. Dylan arm drags him. Flash comes back and kicks Dylan in the corner. He clubs him down and drops a knee for 2. Off the ropes, Bostic with a sunset flip, but Shiloh distracts the ref. Raul chokes Dylan across the ropes while Flash distracts the ref. Flash chops Dylan, goes for another, but Dylan moves, and Dylan with a chop to Flash. Dylan charges Flash, but Flash kicks him. Flash knees Dylan in the head and sends him off the ropes. Dylan comes back with a cross body that sends them both crashing over the top rope and to the floor. Dylan rams Flash head first into the steps and rolls him in for 2. Flash and Dylan have several reversals off the ropes and Dylan kicks Flash in the chest. He kicks him again and delivers a chinbuster off his shoulder. He goes up top, but Flash catches him and delivers a top rope DDT.
He goes for the pin, but Randy Royal runs out and grabs the ref out of the ring. Tony Gunn runs out as well as Rudy Switchblade. The Marauders, Royal, Gunn, & Rudy are all brawling as Dylan crawls to the back and everyone has to be separated. Royal gets back to Gunn and throws him into the ringpost shoulder first. An upset Flash hits Royal in the head with the kendo stick and the Marauders attack Royal to the back.
NO CONTEST.

A video says the Bodyguy is coming next week.

As OVW Women's Champion Trina comes out for commentary, Dean Hill says that "Peter Cotton-", he means Jessie Godderz was supposed to have a match, but called and said that this was all his fault and wasn't competing tonight. He refuses to wrestle in the bunny suit and Danny Davis is reviewing it.
FEMME FATALE BATTLE ROYAL TO CROWN #1 CONTENDER FOR THE OVW WOMEN'S TITLE: (In order of entry) Taeler Hendrix, Heidi Lovelace, Hannah Blossom, Nikki St. John, Holly Blossom, Lovely Lylah, Jessie Belle, Lei'd Tapa, & Envy.
Taeler & Nikki eliminate Holly, Tapa eliminates Hannah, Taeler, Nikki, Jessie Belle, Lylah, & Envy. Tapa goes to powerbomb Heidi out of the ring, but Heidi holds on to the top rope and headscissors Tapa over for the win.
WINNER and #1 CONTENDER: HEIDI.
Trina gets in the ring to congratulate Heidi. Tapa reenters the ring and Heidi turns into a big boot. Trina then gets the spinning diamond cutter finisher as Tapa yells that this is her island and holds up the OVW Women's Title.
The Assassin comes out to help Trina & Heidi up and raises their hands.

Jay Bradley comes to the ring and says Rob Terry is not here, he's afraid. Jay tells Chris Sharpe to start the count. Jamin Olivencia comes out and says he just got off the phone with Rob, and to give him another couple minutes. Jay says Rob's not here, and it's not his fault Rob has 4 flat tires. Jamin asks "Who said anything about 4 flat tires?". Jamin goes after Jay and they have to be separated. Jay yells at Sharpe again to start the count. Rob shows up in street clothes just before the 10 count.
Jay Bradley vs. "The Welsh Colossus" Rob Terry.
Big Rob clubs Jay and locks him in an armbar. He rams Jay in the corner. Jay rolls out of the ring, but Jamin rolls him back in. Rob elbows Jay in the corner. He rams his head into one turnbuckle, and then another. He hits a fall away slam. Rob goes to grab him, but Jay grabs him and pulls him out of the ring. Jay gets on the apron and jumps out on Rob, but Rob catches him. Jay slides off Rob's shoulders, and pushes Rob into a pole in the arena. Rob makes it back in before the 10 count. Jay hits a big boot and then gets on the top rope and drives a knee into Rob's back. He slams the big man and hits a kneedrop and elbow drop. He locks in a sleeper, but Rob gets to his feet and falls backward to break the hold. Rob hits Jay with a high knee for a 2 count. He clotheslines Jay twice, and then backflips Jay. He splashes him in the corner. Jay goes to the outside. Rob grabs him, but Jay pulls Rob's head down across the top rope. Jay gets in and Rob scoops him up for a powerslam, but Jay rakes his eyes. While the ref checks on Rob, Jay pulls something from his trunks and slips it in the Boomstick. Jay delivers a loaded Boomstick to Rob to get the 3.
WINNER: BRADLEY by pinfall.

This ended the TV taping.

Danny Davis came out to talk about "OVW Old School". This will be a special show they are doing this Sunday that will showcase some of the OVW superstars in 1980's attire, wrestling in the way they did in the 1980's. Tickets are only $5 at the door, or $3 if you keep your ticket stub from SNS.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Yaden Matthews vs. Aaron Sky.
Yaden with a suplex. Aaron back with a flurry of offense. Yaden catches Aaron with a boot. He throws Aaron across the ring, but Aaron jumps up on the second rope and turns into a flying body press and connects on Yaden to get the 1-2-3.
WINNER: SKY by pinfall.

The Marauders' Joe Coleman & Shiloh Jonze (w/Raul LaMotta) vs. "The Really Really New Rockers" Ryan Howe & Rockstar Spud.
Howe fires away and hits a sliding uppercut and strumming fistdrop. He is taken out of the ring and Shiloh rams his head off the announce table. Shiloh chops Howe, but Howe chops back. Shiloh with a drop toehold to keep Howe from tagging Spud. The Marauders double and triple team Howe as the ref tries to keep Spud in his corner. Coleman with a suplex to Howe and more double teaming. Shiloh with a reverse headlock. Howe wotks his way up and tags Spud, but the ref is distracted by Raul. They double team Howe again, but accidentally run into each other and Howe tags Spud. Spud fires away and dropkicks Shiloh. They try to double team Spud, but Spud fights through them. Howe hits the Chart Topper on Shiloh and Spud hits the flying elbow. Raul again distracts the ref, and Coleman hits Spud in the back of the head with a pair of handcuffs, allowing Shiloh to get the 3.
WINNERS: MARAUDERS by pinfall.

    1. I like their push, too. I don't see Hayes & Ali losing the titles this quickly, though. I believe Joe Rosa is a star in the making.
