Without further ado:
Here we go...
Pre-Show Dark Matches:
Robbie can never really get going, and Locker dominates this matchup. Locker gets the 3 following a T-Bone Suplex.
WINNER: LOCKER by pinfall.
Former Marauders meet up, but Raul controls throughout. After some chops and wearing down of Dumeyer, Raul locks in the Texas Cloverleaf for the tapout.
WINNER: RAUL by submission.
That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching
the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report.
Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday
afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv
and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 9AM and 10PM (check local listings).
Dean Hill & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary with Gilbert also ring announcing.
Hayes comes out firing away and hits a backdrop. He notices that Adam Revolver is at the announce table and goes out and chases him around the desk. Dapper Dan sneaks out and hits him from behind. He rolls Hayes in the ring, but gets back in as Hayes gets back up. Hayes connects with the facebuster and locks in a head clutch submission for the tapout.
WINNER and STILL OVW TV CHAMPION: HAYES by submission.
Howe gets triple teamed and Miles says he accepts his offer for a match, August 23rd in E-Town.
MATCH #1: "Double D" Deonta Davis & Leon Shelly vs. "The Wild Boyz": Eddie F. Diamond & "Party Starter" Bud Dwight.
The Wild Boyz quickly dispatch of Deonta & Leon, hitting their side slam/reverse DDT finisher on Leon for the 3.
WINNERS and MOVING ON in the GAUNTLET: WILD BOYZ by pinfall.MATCH #2: "The Fabulous Free Bodies": The Bodyguy & Big Jon vs. "The Wild Boyz": Eddie F. Diamond & "Party Starter" Bud Dwight.
The Wild Boyz ram Bodyguy in the corner several times and work him over. EFD misses a dropkick after Jon holds Bodyguy against the ropes. EFD is then double teamed and worked over. Bodyguy sets up for a suplex, but EFD reverses it into a small package for the 3.
WINNERS and MOVING ON in the GAUNTLET: WILD BOYZ by pinfall. As the Wild Boyz await the final team, the Free Bodies attack them from behind.
MATCH #3: Shiloh Jonze & Eric Locker vs. "The Wild Boyz": Eddie F. Diamond & "Party Starter" Bud Dwight.
Shiloh runs in to try to pin, but EFD kicks out. EFD is worked over, but finally gets the tag to Dwight. Dwight comes in firing away and sets up to hit Shiloh, but Locker had gotten a blind tag and hits the T-Bone Suplex for the 3.
WINNERS and NEW #1 CONTENDERS: SHILOH & LOCKER by pinfall.Jason "the Man" Lee vs. Rump Thump.
A decent back and forth match, but Rump catches Lee with the Thump for the 3.
WINNER: RUMP by pinfall.Marcus Anthony & Adam Revolver vs. Randy Terrez & the Mexicutioner.
A very good start for Terrez & Mex, but Adam & Marcus double team Terrez and take control for a bit. Mex gets the hot tag and comes in on fire. Mex & Terrez hit a double team finisher on Adam and get the 3!
WINNERS: TERREZ & MEXICUTIONER by pinfall. After the match, Marcus attacks Terrez and Mex from behind. Melvin Maximus runs out and Marcus hits Melvin as he gets in the ring. He runs off the ropes, but Melvin catches him with a powerslam and stands tall as Marcus rolls out of the ring.
This ended the TV taping.
Post-Show Dark Matches:
"The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles (w/"Altar Boy" Jade Dawson, & "the Apostle" Jake Glasure) vs. "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus.
Thanks to outside interference, Miles is able to get the early advantage and control through most of the early going. He tries to keep Melvin grounded, and hits him in the head yelling "Be Healed!". Melvin fires back, however, and sets up for the bearhug. Glasure grabs Miles from the ring and the Congregation retreats, taking the 10 count.
WINNER: MELVIN by countout.
This
episode of OVW TV will be up online tomorrow. As
always, thanks for reading!
Maybe I'm crazy but Eric Locker looks remarkably like 2010 OVW wrestler Scott Simms http://www.profightdb.com/wrestlers/scott-simms-7892.html
ReplyDeleteIs it possible they're the same guy?
I'm not sure. Interesting catch, if so.
DeleteAnd of course, no womens action... again. Why do they even still have the Womens Championship active anymore?
ReplyDeleteThe lack of womens action is frustrating me too but I wouldn't go as far as deactivating the title just yet, I think the next ovw womens champ should be rebel since she has been having matches anyway why not I think it would do her good.
DeleteRebel might be an okay champ but I'd rather see Mary Elizabeth Monroe as the next champion.
DeleteHopefully, some more women come into OVW soon. Tapa has been traveling, Jessie Belle will soon be retiring, and Rebel injured herself (fractured arm) on a TV taping for Impact. That only leaves Mary Elizabeth right now, as Ray Lyn moved to Pittsburgh, and Lylah is no longer with OVW, either.
DeleteLets be honest though, OVW has never looked too fondly on their women, this is why I say they may as well deactivate the belt and have no womens division.
DeleteI mean maybe its because Jessie Belle is apparently retiring frm wrestling knowing they only have Tapa, Monroe & Rebel in their wings, but the thing is they can always bring in other women if they really wanted to show them on TV. But of course they haven't done so since May.
They either need to start putting more effort into their womens division or simply get rid of it.
