That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching
the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report.
Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday
afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv
and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 9AM and 10PM (check local listings).
We have a brand new opening video. Dean Hill & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, and Terry Boddie is the ring announcer.
Mary Jane comes hula hooping out of the curtain, and Chris Silvio is not far behind. They get in the ring and Silvio says he would like to apologize. He would like to apologize that his brother-in-law got in his way last week, and apologize that his partner, Jamin Olivencia, didn't have the gall to show up for their match.
The music of Paredyse fills the arena as he makes a return from his duties with TNA Wrestling. He says that he doesn't see the "Totally Awesome" Silvio he once knew (they were once a tag team called "Totally Awesome"). He thinks Silvio should give a real apology to his brother-in-law (Chris Sharpe). Silvio says what happened doesn't concern him, they should just go drink a few beers, and have a good time. Paredyse challenges him and it looks like Silvio is going to walk away, but he turns and goes after Paredyse...
Paredyse catches Silvio with a side headlock takedown. Silvio gets out and charges after Paredyse into another side headlock takedown. Silvio rolls under the ropes, but Paredyse grabs him from the outside of the apron and rams him head first into the turnbuckle, and Silvio falls to the floor. Paredyse catches Silvio in the keister to the kisser, but Silvio blocks it and throws Paredyse down to the outside. He holds the ropes open for Paredyse to get back in. Silvio works Paredyse over until Paredyse catches him again and hits the keister to the kisser and a kick to the head. He hits the seated senton, but Silvio kicks out. Off the ropes, Paredyse and Silvio smack heads, and Silvio falls outside. Paredyse hold the ropes open for him, but Silvio hits him with the Psychadelic Superpunch and gets the 3.
WINNER: SILVIO by pinfall. After the match, Silvio delivers a piledriver to Paredyse.
Ryan Howe's music hits and he comes to the ring and delivers a big atomic drop, and Bodyguy retreats.
"The Wild Boyz": Eddie F. Diamond & "The Party Starter" Bud Dwight vs. "TerreMex": Randy Terrez & the Mexicutioner.
This was a fun match to sit back and watch with really good back and forth fast-paced action. In the end, TerreMex has EFD set up for La Chancla, but Dwight interrupts the move and he & EFD each roll up their man for the 3.
WINNERS and NEW #1 CONTENDERS for the OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLES: WILD BOYZ by pinfall.Backstage, Gilbert Corsey interviews OVW Heavyweight Champion Melvin Maximus. Melvin is confident that at the end of the triple threat match at SNS, the result will be marvelous.
Bodyguy & Bostic exchange armbars. Dylan hits a backdrop, dropkick, and cross body. He goes off the ropes, but is grabbed by Big Jon. While the ref gets on Jon, the Bodyguy takes a chain out of his tights. Dylan grabs Bodyguy for a backdrop, but Bodyguy hits him in the head with the wrapped fist and gets the 3.
WINNER: BODYGUY by pinfall.
A lot of mat wrestling early. Howe slams Hayes and misses the strumming fistdrop. Hayes hits a backdrop, slams Howe, but misses an elbow. Howe tries to lock in the Whammy Bar, but Hayes breaks out. Howe slams Hayes again, and this time connects with the strumming fistdrop. He goes up top, but Hayes moves, and Howe crashes and burns going for the Chart Topper. Hayes rolls him up for the 3.
WINNERS and STILL OVW TV CHAMPION: HAYES by pinfall. After Titus Enterprises comes out, Cliff Compton comes out and takes the mic.
He wants to introduce his partner, returning to the Davis Arena for the first time in over 7 years, "Boom Boom" Colt Cabana!
"Titus Enterprises": Marcus Anthony & Adam Revolver (w/Michael Titus) vs. Cliff Compton & Colt Cabana.
Cliff & Colt take it to Adam early. Adam tags to Marcus, and Marcus clotheslines Cliff. Off the ropes and into the corner for a big splash to Cliff. He splashes Cliff again and tags Adam in. Cliff tries to roll him up for 2. Adam hits Cliff's leg off the apron. He tags in Marcus. Marcus goes for another corner splash, but Cliff flies out with a spear. Both make tags, and Colt comes in firing away with jabs to Adam's chin. He hits a bionic elbow and splashes Adam. Marcus breaks the pin, and Cliff comes in. Marcus goes after Cliff, but Cliff moves, and Marcus rams Josh Ashcraft in the corner. Colt locks in a reverse Boston crab on Adam, and Timmy Danger runs out to see Adam tapping and calls for the bell.
WINNERS: COMPTON & CABANA by submission.
After
the match, Marcus hits Colt from behind and knocks him from the ring and hits Danger down. He grabs Cliff and locks him in the Crimson Omen. This ended the TV taping.

The good word is "opportunity". Miles gives Leon the opportunity to join his group. Leon declines, and is beat down by Jade & Jake.
The Assassin's music hits and he comes out and is triple-teamed.
Ryan Howe comes out and takes out Jade and Assassin shoves Howe out of the way and takes out Jake. Leon, Howe, & Assassin all surround Miles, but he leaves the ring.
Walker gets worked over by Locker & Shiloh for most of the match. Walker with a Cosmic Kick out of nowhere to Shiloh. Both men tag, and Reynolds comes in firing away, but gets double teamed and Locker holds him up for Shiloh to faceplant him off the top rope for the 3.

This

always, thanks for reading!
Just like to point out that Silvios ring name was Sucio and Paredyses name was Kamikaze Kid during their tag team titles reigns just in case people didn't understand the reference :).
ReplyDeleteWhy is Rebel & Jessie Belle not listed as a dark match, but it's not in the video for episode 789? :-(
ReplyDeleteyes I noticed this too I really wanted to see a rebel match in ovw but it was a match I really wanted to see and to not get it is very disappointing.
DeleteThey had this match after the opening segment between Paredyse & Silvio, so I assumed this was filmed for TV. Either they ran out of time and had to cut it out of this week's episode, or they went out of order on what was dark matches and what was for TV. Let's see what happens next week.
DeleteThey probably realised that with this being their first televised womens match since May that Bodyguy's character promo about womens wrestling being 'rotten' shows the company's views on it more so than Bodyguy's.
DeleteIt's called a "dark" match because no one sees it but the people in attendance...................DUH !
ReplyDeleteWhy do I get the feeling that with this being their first womens match in so long, that Bodyguy's words hold more value in terms on the companies views of womens wrestlers more so than the Bodyguy's character?
ReplyDeleteAlso this may also show more so since they decided to cut the match from the TV show altogether. I mean if this were a dark match sure, but it wasn't. Curiouser and curiouser...
