OVW Sept. 2016 SNS: Reckoning Results

This is the OVW Saturday Night Special Report for Saturday, September 3, 2016.

Tonight:

-Rocco Bellagio faces Rev. Stuart Miles for the OVW Heavyweight Title in a "Stairway to Heaven" Match

-Big Jon & Tyler Matrix face off with the Legacy of Brutality's Hy Zaya & Big Zo
 
-TNA Knockout Rebel returns to face Jessie Belle & Maria James for the OVW Women's Title in a triple threat

-Bud Dwight is also in a triple threat defending the OVW TV Title against Stephon Smith & Trevor Steele

-Plus more!

Your announcers for tonight are Ron Hed & Gilbert Corsey, and Ron is also ring announcer.

"The Legacy of Brutality": Big Zo & "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya (w/Josh Ashcraft) vs. "The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix & Big Jon.
Zo attacks Matrix as he enters the arena. Jon comes out from the back without his music and goes after Zo. Jon & Zo brawl around ringside as Matrix & Hy fight inside. Matrix throws Hy outside and Jon gets in. Jon throws Matrix, and Matrix flies out onto Zo & Hy. The Legacy regroups and quickly takes advantage, using cheap tactics, double-teaming Matrix, when referee AJ Lucio is distracted. Matrix gets wishboned across the ring post, and Zo hits him with a big legdrop and steamrolls him, but can't put him away. Hy hits Matrix with a suplex slam, but can't put him away still. Matrix leaps for a tag, but again AJ is distracted, and Jon is not allowed in. Zo hits a big slam and goes for the Zo Bomb as Hy tags in. Jon has had enough and goes over and attacks Zo and knocks him to the outside. They fight around ringside as Matrix fires back on Hy. He hits a flying forearm in the corner and follows it with a pele kick. Josh gets in with his hand wrapped in a chain, but eats a super kick from Matrix. Matrix kicks him out of the ring, and Hy has recovered. Hy rolls him up with a handful of tights for the 3.
WINNERS: LEGACY of BRUTALITY.
After the match, Jon gets back in. He grabs Hy and throws him into a super kick from Matrix. Jon chokeslams him, as Matrix goes up and hits a swanton bomb.

Tony Gunn comes out and says it is time for another edition of the YTO Club. He says it is not for the weak-minded, or the weak-hearted. It is for the elite, and the elite only. So far, there are already 2 members in the club: Skinny Idiot & Facepaint Magoo. He says for some reason, Facepaint Magoo asked for a rematch tonight.
"Shotgun" Tony Gunn vs. "Psycho Cowboy" Benny Factor.
Gunn gets Benny into the corner and slaps him in the face. They lock up into the other corner, and Benny shoves Gunn. Gunn comes out mad, but Benny hits a drop toehold. He locks in a side headlock. Gunn comes back and controls most of the remaining match, and gets him locked in the YTO for the tapout victory.
WINNER: GUNN by submission.
After the match, Gunn says this is the Gunn show, and he is the best wrestler here, like it or not.

"Iron Demon" Shane Mercer vs. Colton Cage.
Cage locks in a side headlock, but is pulled down by his hair. Mercer locks in a side headlock. Cage gets out, and clotheslines Mercer over the top rope. He goes off the ropes with intentions to fly out, but Mercer runs back in and catches him with a belly-to-back suplex for 2. He hits a big standing vertical suplex for 2. He locks in a chinlock, but Cage gets out. Cage with a roundhouse kick, clothesline, and side slam for 2. Cage goes up top, but Mercer meets him, and hits an amazing backflip slam off the top rope for the 3.
WINNER: MERCER by pinfall.

OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Adam Revolver & the Mexicutioner vs. "The Van Zandt Family Circus": Dapper Dan Van Zandt & Mad Man Pondo (w/Scarlet & Little Damion) (c).
Team Mexi-volver is working well together until they argue over Mex dropkicking Adam onto Pondo. The Circus takes advantage and double-teams Adam. Adam takes a lot of punishment until dropping Pondo with a reverse DDT. Both men tag. Mex comes in firing away, hitting Pondo with a slam, and Dan with a spinebuster. Pondo grabs Mex, but Dan accidentally takes down Pondo. Mex rolls Dan up and gets the 3!
WINNERS and NEW OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: REVOLVER & MEX by pinfall.
After the match, Pondo grabs a chair and hits Mex from behind. He then tosses the chair to Adam. The Van Zandts walk away and Mex gets up to see Adam in the ring behind him with the chair. Mex thinks Adam hit him, and delivers a Mexislam to him.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH: Trevor Steele vs. Stephon Smith vs. "Party Starter" Bud Dwight (c).
Steele & Dwight try to corner Stephon, but end up in a staredown. Stephon flies out onto both of them. He rolls both men in, but misses thumps on both of them in opposite corners. Steele & Dwight each hit Stephon and deliver a double back body drop to him. Steele hits Dwight out of the ring and to the floor. Stephon takes Steele down and works over his leg. Dwight is climbing back onto the apron, but Stephon grabs him and throws him into the ringpost, before going back to Steele's leg. Steele fires back, and throws Stephon face first off the top turnbuckle. He hits a discus punch, but Dwight breaks the pin. Steele gets knocked to the outside, and Stephon attacks Dwight's arm. He thumps Dwight in the corner, but misses a kneedrop. Dwight fires back and hits the Party Time boot in the corner. He hits the flying clothesline off the top rope, but Steele breaks up a pin. Dwight & Steele throw Stephon over the top rope and exchange blows. Dwight pulls down the top rope as Steele charges at him. Dwight hits a high knee on Stephon, but misses a flying clothesline as Stephon ducks. Dwight turns into a big boot from Steele. Steele gets taken down by Stephon leaping off the second rope. Stephon tries to pin both for 2's. Stephon grabs the title belt and hits Dwight. Steele & Stephon fight to the outside.
Dwight gets back up and leaps off the top rope onto both of them. He rolls Stephon in and hits the Party Splash and the Hangover, but Steele breaks the pin again. Steele takes Dwight down with a torture rack into a slam. Stephon pulls the ref out of the ring. Steele grabs Stephon and then Dwight and goes for a double chokeslam. Stephon kicks Steele below the belt and goes to do the same to Dwight. Dwight catches his foot and nails him with the in-knee-briator for the 3.
WINNER and STILL OVW TV CHAMPION: DWIGHT by pinfall.

Gilbert Corsey brings out Rebel and says Maria James got a concussion and will be out for at least a week. Unfortunately, there will be no title match tonight. Rebel says she wouldn't wish a head injury on her worst enemy, but when Maria is ready, she will be ready to take the OVW Women's Title. Jessie Belle comes out with Shane Andrews and says she thinks Maria is ducking her, but she wants to know how Rebel even got this opportunity. She says she is ready to compete and take the trash out to get 1 step closer to getting her belt back. Paredyse then comes out and says that they should have a mixed tag right now. Gilbert says Dean Hill is okaying it, and the winning team's female will get a 1-on-1 shot at Maria at the September 13th show in Charlestown, Indiana at the Rusty Bucket.
MIXED TAG MATCH: "Bad Girl" Jessie Belle & "Bad Boy" Shane Andrews vs. Rebel & Paredyse.
The crowd, including myself, was distracted from this match as WWE RAW GM Mick Foley was in attendance with OVW Founder Danny Davis. 
Paredyse & Rebel won after a double rollup.
WINNERS: REBEL & PAREDYSE by pinfall.

Rev. Stuart Miles comes out and says he will take Rocco Bellagio to the depths of hell before he climbs to Heaven. The lights go out and when they come back on, Rocco is behind Stu and Plunges him.
OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN" MATCH: Rev. Stuart Miles vs. "The Show Stealer" Rocco Bellagio (c).
Rocco hits Stu at ringside, then grabs a table and sets it up in the corner. He flips Stu into the ring, and Plunges Stu through the table. He grabs a ladder and starts to climb, but Stu pulls him off. He runs Rocco head first into the ladder, then grabs the ladder and rams it into Rocco's gut three times. He throws the ladder out of the ring and Rocco hits him from behind. Stu ducks a big boot and jumps on Rocco with a Lou Thesz press, followed by "Be Healed" slaps. He brings in a table and turns into a big boot from Rocco. Rocco sets him on the top rope and hits him. He climbs up, but Stu starts slapping him back and knocks him off. Rocco catches himself, but Stu leaps off with a clothesline on Rocco through the table. Stu grabs a bigger ladder and starts to climb. Rocco gets up and hits Stu with a piece of the broken table and backdrops him off the ladder. Rocco gets back up and charges Stu, but Stu pulls down the top rope and Rocco falls to the floor. Stu leaps onto him on the outside. He hits Rocco into the announce table, off the barricade, and off one of the building's steel beams. Rocco comes back and hits Stu off the announce table, then puts him on his shoulders and goes to the back. Rocco takes him to the rafters like many before him.
He grabs the Plungetown sign, but Stu ducks it. He heals Rocco off the rafters and to the floor below! Stu then decides to fly off after him with a flying elbow drop! Stu crawls out to ringside and into the ring. Rocco starts crawling out shortly thereafter. Stu is climbing the ladder, but Rocco gets up and hits him with the Plungetown sign. Stu jumps off with a dropkick. Stu goes back up, but as he nears the top and the title, Rocco gets back up and shoves the ladder over. Stu falls off the ladder and goes crashing through a table at ringside! Rocco climbs up and retrieves the title.
WINNER and STILL OVW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: ROCCO.

  1. Of course Mick Foley would distract everyone during the match involving the women... that shows how much they actually care about the women, or lack thereof anyway.
