OVW TV #928: "Eads' Worst Nightmare"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, May 31, 2017. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, a #1 contender's match for the OVW TV Title, Zo in action, Shannon the Dude & Adam Revolver have another "warm-up" match, plus more!

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stu Miles defeats Dre Blitz. Stu heals Blitz early. Blitz back with some offense, but misses the Blitz Kick. Stu with the Clawslam for the 3.

Dapper Dan defeats Kevin Giza. Dan hits some big clotheslines, and punches Giza in the kidney and then the throat. Giza fights back, and Dan is on the outside. Giza jumps out, but Dan catches him and rams him back first into the ringpost. He delivers a back body drop on the apron. Inside, Giza slides out of a Death Valley Driver attempt, and hits an enziguri. He jumps off the top rope with a flying body for 2. Dan catches Giza with the Death Valley Driver and then delivers a message to Zo by hitting Giza with a Zo Bomb for the 3.

Lukas Gibson Jacobs, Chace Destiny, & OVW TV Champion Jade Dawson defeat Houdini & "The Bro Godz": Colton Cage & Dustin Jackson. The Bros hit Divine Retribution on Lukas, but as the ref gets Cage back in his corner, Jade sneaks in and hits the snap DDT on Dustin. Lukas gets the 3.

Gilbert Corsey & Ted McNaler are on commentary, and KC is the ring announcer.

The show starts with Daniel Eads & Big Jon brawling around ringside and into the ring. Officials and superstars have to break them apart as Dean Hill comes out. He asks if they are trying to sabotage the main event for the Special. He has to come up with a way to keep them from tearing each other apart. He has an idea...tonight they will be tag team partners! He says if Eads betrays Jon, he will lose any shot at any title in OVW. He tells Jon if he betrays Eads, he will hold up the title. He tells them they will face the Bad Boys Club, and it will be for the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles!

#1 CONTENDER for the OVW TELEVISION TITLE: LJ defeats David Lee Lorenze III. A very good back and forth match. LJ hits Blue Thunder for 2. He misses a frog splash and David hits the Director's Cut, but only gets 2. He yells at the ref that it's her fault, and then goes for a second take. LJ spins out of another Director's Cut, rolls David up with a bridge and gets the 3. After the match, David attacks LJ. Rev. Stu Miles runs out and fights David off, giving him the claw slam. Jade Dawson, who was on commentary, runs in and delivers a snap DDT to Stu, and again whispers in his ear before leaving the ring.

Zo defeats Adam Slade. Slade pokes Zo in the eye, and gets in some strikes early. Zo rams Slade in the corner, and then sends a message to Dapper Dan by hitting Slade with a Death Valley Driver, followed by the Zo Bomb to get the 3. After the match, Gilbert Corsey asks Zo if it will be Zo time at the Special. Zo says it is always Zo time and he will take down Dapper Dan at the Special.

Gilbert Corsey brings out Mickie Knuckles and just gives her the mic. She gets in the ring and calls out Cali. She has a gift for her. Cali finally comes out and the gift is a giant stuffed rat. Mickie says it's Cali's mom. It's the only way she could have gotten to where she is, by being a giant, dirty rat.

Cali hits Mickie with it and leaps at Mickie, but gets caught. Mickie hits a spinning slam and tells Cali to have sweet dreams about her. She licks Cali's face before leaving the ring.

"The New Conquistadors": Oso Rayos & Conquistador Dos defeat Shannon the Dude & Adam Revolver by countout. Adam & Shannon take it to Rayos early, when Tony Vanetti comes out and grabs a mic. He gets their attention as Conquistador Dos comes in the ring and unmasks. It's Tyler Matrix. He hits some kicks and a running knee to Adam, and Shannon jumps on his back. Tyler snapmares him off and goes up top for the swanton, but Adam pulls Shannon out of the ring and they get counted out. Vanetti says Shannon is a disgrace to OVW, and his title is a disgrace to him, and he is going to teach him a lesson. Tyler then says on Saturday, they will be locked in the Lion's Den.

OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLES: "The Bad Boys Club": "Bad Boy" Shane Andrews & "Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (c) (w/"Bad Girl" Jessie Belle) defeat OVW Heavyweight Champion Big Jon & "The Man of Tomorrow" Daniel Eads. Eads & Jon try to show each other up early. They blow kisses at each other and tag themselves in. Eads then refuses to tag back in when Jon gets in trouble. Jon starts firing back and Eads says Jon has this. Jon sets up for a double chokeslam, but Jessie gets on the apron. Jon gets in her face, but Eads gets in the ring and tells him not to touch a lady. As the ref gets Eads back in his corner, Royal low blows Jon, hits the samoan drop, and Shane hits the frog splash to get the 3.

After the match, Eads sets up for a superman punch as the Bad Boys hold Jon. Dean Hill comes out and tells the Bad Boys to let go of Jon or he will strip them of their titles. They drop him and leave. Dean tells Eads he is a piece of work. The main event needs something special, like a special referee. He tells Eads he's gonna like this one. It will be Jon vs. Eads, no holds barred, and the special referee will be the "Nightmare" Danny Davis!

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"The Trinidadian Titan" Justin Smooth defeats Ca$h Flo. Ca$h controls early with some power moves and chops. Smooth fires back and catches Ca$h off the ropes with the bicycle kick for 3.
