This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, November 8, 2017. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, we hear from new OVW Heavyweight Champion Michael Hayes, Big Jon & Justin Smooth face the Bad Boys Club in the main event to decide #1 contenders for the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles, Randall Floyd defends the OVW TV Title, plus more!
Without further ado:
Here we go...
Pre-Show Dark Matches:
OVW Southern Tag Team Champions "The Winter Swoldier" Adam Slade & Kevin Giza defeat "The Bro Godz": Colton Cage & Dustin Jackson (w/OVW Women's Champion Jaylee). Giza & Slade get a quick start, working over Dustin with some quick double-team maneuvers. They hit their own version of Bro 69 against Dustin. Jaylee causes a distraction, and Colton ambushes Giza from behind. Colton hits Giza in the corner, spelling out B-R-O. Colton hits a back elbow and throws Giza into a picture perfect dropkick from Dustin. They hit Bro 69, and go for a double-team, but Giza reverses into a double DDT. Giza tags Slade, and he comes in with uppercuts galore. He takes Colton out, then tags Giza. They hit a combo samoan drop/twisting neckbreaker for the 3 on Dustin.
TRIPLE THREAT: "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson defeats "Livewire" KTD & "Dancin" Deonta Davis. We start with a 3 way test of strength, before KTD tosses Sam to the outside. Deonta & KTD fight for a bit, then Sam runs back in to break a pin and try to steal some pins. This happens a few times before he does steal a pin over Deonta.
After the match, Deonta asks the crowd if they want to see them dance. As Sam, KTD, & Deonta dance, Chace Destiny & Damion run out and attack them.
"The River City Dragon" Logan James defeats Ca$h Flo (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft). Ca$h tells LJ to lay down. He does, but then kicks Ca$h in the face. They exchange side headlocks, then Ca$h hits him with some chops on the top rope. He hits a fall away slam. LJ comes back and hits some kicks. He charges at Ca$h, but Ca$h catches him and slams him down hard. Dapper Dan comes out and distracts Josh & Ca$h. It allows LJ to recover, hit a big DDT, then connect with the frog splash for the 3.
That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 9PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html.
Dr. Ted McNaler, Mike Lacett, & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, and KC is the ring announcer.
OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The Real Deal" Randall Floyd (c) defeats "The Silent Killer" Aloicious Hamilton. Randall has the early advantage, he hits a large hip toss, and chops Alo in the corner. Alo starts to fire back, but runs into a big clothesline. Randall stomps the limbs of Alo, then locks in a sleeper. Alo gets to his feet, but Randall clubs him down. He throws Alo in the corner, charges, but Alo moves. Alo splashes him in the corner, then hits a slingblade. Alo has him on his shoulders, but Randall slides off. He drops Alo, then locks in a boston crab. Alo taps.
After the match, Gilbert Corsey interviews Randall. We know about his 95-5 collegiate record, but he used some questionable tactics to keep the TV Title over Logan James at the Special. Randall says he did what he had to do, and the "River City Weasel" thinks he is great, but Randall says he is the greatest.
Big Zo defeats "Shotgun" Tony Gunn. Zo with the advantage early. He hits a big slam and the Are You Serious legdrop. Gunn comes back, and hits the flying knee to the head off the top rope. Zo catches him later and hits a release German suplex, then a fallaway slam. Zo hits him into the corner, then connects with the Zo train. He hits another splash and a Samoan drop. Zo hits a headbutt and goes for a slam. Gunn slides out and goes for the reverse DDT, but Zo reverses. He hits a big slam, but then Ca$h Flo & Dapper Dan come fighting out of the curtain. They end up in the ring, and then Zo & Gunn get involved.
All 4 are fighting, and the bell rings as a DQ win for Zo since Dan hit Zo first as he got in the ring.
Gilbert Corsey brings out Billy O. He asks about the revelation of the Masked Man being his former partner that we knew as the Rev. Stuart Miles. Billy says he doesn't know what happened, or why. He's just pissed off and wants Stu out here. Stu finally arrives pulling out Aloicious Hamilton by a chain. Billy goes out and fights with Stu. Inside, Stu hits Billy with a big clothesline and a pedigree.
He wraps the chain around Billy's neck, but Jade Dawson arrives and fights Stu off.
#1 CONTENDER'S MATCH for the OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLES: "The Bad Boys Club": "Bad Boy" Shane Andrews & "Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (w/"Bad Girl" Jessie Belle) defeat "The Trinidad Titan" Justin Smooth & Big Jon. Big Smooth has the opening control that includes a Big Jon splash and an overhead release suplex from Smooth, but then the BBC takes over. They work over Smooth, with Randy hitting a drop toehold on Smooth, followed by a kick to the face from Shane. Smooth is hung up in the ropes, and Shane hits a double foot stomp off the top rope across Smooth's back. The BBC double and triple team Smooth in their corner with assists from Jessie Belle as the ref has to keep Jon back in his corner. Smooth starts to fire out of the corner, and Randy runs into a big boot. Smooth reaches for a tag, kicks Randy away and makes it. Shannon the Dude is now out on the apron. He gets Jon's attention, but Mike Lacett pulls STD off the apron. Adam Revolver then comes out and bowls over Lacett. Jon goes after STD & Adam, chasing them to the back. Meanwhile, Royal uses a pair of brass knucks on Smooth and gets the 1-2-3 on the inside.
They continue to beatdown Smooth & Jon after the match until Kevin Giza & Adam Slade run out. The BBC take them down as well though, hitting a 3D on Giza, then a running clothesline on Slade by Shane as he was held by Randy.
This ended the TV taping.
Post-Show Dark Matches:
"The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix vs. Dapper Dan ends in a no-contest. Josh Ashcraft comes to ringside and tells Dan they're family. They lock up with clean breaks. Dan takes Tyler down with a side headlock. Matrix reverses. Dan locks in a headscissors. Tyler gets out, then gets taken down with a shoulder tackle. Off the ropes, Tyler comes back with a dropkick. Tyler runs off the ropes and is tripped up by Josh. Dan goes out and shoves Josh and tells him to stay out of it. Tyler connects with a kick to the head, but then gets his knee taken out. Dan stomps it and then locks in a submission. Tyler reverses, but Dan is still in control as they get up. Josh throws his baton, then a chain to Dan, but Dan keeps tossing them back out, telling him to stay out of it. Dan locks Tyler in a Figure Four. Tyler turns it over. Dan clubs Tyler in the back, but Tyler charges back with a flying forearm and a kick to the head. Dan comes back with splashes in opposite corners and a belly to belly suplex, then a release German suplex. Dan goes for the Death Valley Driver, but Tyler fights out and hits another kick to the head. He hits another that sends Dan to the floor.
Ca$h Flo comes out and goes after Dan.
Meanwhile, Michael Hayes comes out and goes after Tyler Matrix, leading to a no-contest.
After the match, Dan offers a handshake to Tyler, and Tyler accepts.
As always, thanks for reading!
