That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 9PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html.
Dr. Ted McNaler & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, and KC is the ring announcer.
OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: "The Bad Boys Club": "Bad Boy" Shane Andrews & "Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (w/"Bad Girl" Jessie Belle) (c) defeat "BillyOcious": Billy O & Aloicious Hamilton. Shane offers a handshake to Billy, but hits him. He tags Randy in. Randy with a drop toehold and Shane with the kick to the face. Randy hits him and chokes him in the ropes. He throws Billy to the outside and Jessie puts some boots to him. Randy high knees Billy in the ropes and Shane hits the double foot stomp. Shane headbutts him, and clubs him across the back. Off the ropes, Billy catches Shane with a huge spinebuster. They double clothesline each other. Billy goes for a tag while Randy distracts the ref. Amon has come out to ringside, and Alo fights him to the back. Alo comes back to the apron, and Billy gets the tag. Alo fires away on Shane & Randy, but then stops in his tracks. He starts foaming at the mouth and goes down choking. Shane runs over and gets a quick 3 to retain.
He says it's funny that he's here and "Mike La-suck" is nowhere to be found. He says he "La-cept's" the challenge from Mike Lacett at the January SNS for his World Heavyweight Radio Title.
Gilbert Corsey calls out the new #1 contender Houdini. Instead, he gets Tony Gunn. Gunn says last week, he got screwed. He complains that it's all Dean Hill's fault, and the way he runs this place. Dean comes out and says he's sorry about what happened, but he gives his refs full authority and they saw Houdini as the winner. It's the gamble you take being in a triple threat or fatal 4 way match.
Houdini comes out and says the ending may have been a little funny, but he's worked hard for 2 years, coming to every practice, being at every show, and has earned his spot. Gunn says he hasn't earned anything and challenges him for his #1 contendership tonight. Houdini accepts. Gilbert tries to talk him out of it, saying he may never get a shot like this again. Houdini says no one believes in him, and he wants to prove them wrong tonight. Dean makes the match official.
OVW TELEVISION TITLE: Randall Floyd (c) defeats "The Winter Swoldier" Adam Slade. Slade with a hot start, kicking Randall in the gut and hitting a slingblade. Randall hangs him up in the ropes and takes control. He works Slade over. Slade comes back with uppercuts and gets a 2. Slade goes for the Swoldier Slam, but Randall slides off and takes Slade down. He locks in the modified Boston crab and Slade taps.
OVW Women's Champion Jaylee (w/David Lee Lorenze III, Camera Man & "The Bro Godz": Colton Cage & Dustin Jackson) defeats Cali (w/Meg). A quick match. Cali with the early offense. She knocks Jaylee off the apron onto both the Bros. She chases Jaylee on the outside, and David grabs Cali's leg as she goes to get in. Jaylee takes control, but loses focus when she sees the Entourage talking to Meg on the outside. Cali takes her down for 2, but Jaylee comes back and hits her finisher for the 3.
He goes up top and flies off, but is caught for a Death Valley Driver. Amon gets the chain and lays Dan out for the DQ.
After the match, Amon goes to keep choking Dan with the chain, but Billy O comes out and grabs Dan's stick. He blasts Amon in the back twice to no avail. Chace is back up and takes out Billy's knee from behind. Amon pedigrees Billy, while Josh hits and chokes Dan.
After the match, Gunn attacks Houdini. He's angry and embarrassed, and then takes out the ref as well. Houdini comes back with a flying forearm to knock Gunn out of the ring. Hayes sneaks in from behind and takes Houdini out with the title belt. He goes for his hook slam finisher, but Logan James runs out to run Hayes off.
This ended the TV taping.
