OVW TV #964: "State of OVW"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, February 7, 2018. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, the start of an Anarchy Rules tournament, Michael Hayes delivers a "State of the Union" address, LJ defends the OVW Television Title, plus more!

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

DL3 (w/"The Bro Godz": Dustin Jackson & Colton Cage, Dimes, & Jaylee) defeats Drew Crawft. Drew has a quick start, hitting clotheslines and a suplex. The Bros cause a distraction allowing DL3 to take control. He hits a trilogy of running clotheslines. Drew fights back and takes DL3 down for the 3, but now Jaylee is on the apron. DL3 hits Drew from behind, then connects with the Director's Cut for the 3.

"The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson defeats SK Eveslage. SK attacks Sam as he is on the apron. He rams him into the side of the ring and hits the USK elbow drop back inside. He works over Sam and tries for another elbow and misses. Sam rolls him up and gets the 3.

Amon & "The Void": Chace Destiny & Damion defeat Flex, William Lutz, & Eddie Knight. Flex, Knight, & Lutz all try to take down Amon to no avail. Amon clotheslines Flex down and tags Damion. Damion gets worked over by the opponents until tagging Chace. Flex takes Chace down with a clothesline and spinebuster. Off the ropes, Amon pulls the rope down and then slams him on the floor. Amon chops him hard and tags Damion. Damion snapmares him and headbutts him. Chace tags in and works him over, then Amon is back in to choke him. Damion is tagged again, but Flex kicks him away. He tags Lutz who fires away on Chace & Damion, but they take control because of the numbers advantage. Knight gets in to even things up. Lutz & Knight throw the Void off the ropes, but they hold on, and Amon comes in behind them and clotheslines them. Knight is thrown out of the ring, then Amon pedigrees Lutz for Chace to get the 3.

Dr. Ted McNaler, Mike Lacett, & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, and Brittany is the ring announcer.

Shiloh Jonze comes out and introduces himself. He says he is a 3x OVW TV Champion, and you may remember him from such title reigns as defeating the Metal Master, the Pope, and "Vacant". He tells Logan James to get his "b-u-double t" out here so he can kick it and become a 4x champion.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The River City Dragon" Logan James (c) defeats Shiloh Jonze. A fast-paced opening. LJ is in control after a takedown and a coup de grace. Shiloh catches him off the ropes with a kick to the face. He rams him into the corner, then takes him down and locks in a headlock. LJ out with a chinbuster. LJ fires up with some running forearms and a backdrop. He hits a second, goes up top, and connects with the frog splash for the 3.

After the match, Randall Floyd runs out and attacks LJ from behind. LJ fights back and throws Randall into the ringpost shoulder first. Shiloh hits LJ from behind, and as LJ turns around, Randall is back up with the TV title and clocks LJ with it. He tells LJ that when he wakes up, someone can tell him that he is entitled to his rematch, and will have that match at the March SNS in a cage!

ANARCHY RULES HARDCORE TITLE QUALIFIER: "Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeats "Livewire" KTD. Gunn says most people dress for matches in jeans and a tanktop and use weapons, but he is the best wrestler here and is going to prove why. KTD comes out with a garbage can full of weapons, but Gunn says to put them away and fight him man-to-man. Gunn controls early, but KTD starts to fire back. On the outside, Dapper Dan hits Gunn from behind as he tries to leave. He throws Gunn back in and passes the garbage can to KTD. KTD goes to hit him with it, but Gunn low blows him to get the 3.

Michael Hayes is out for a "State of the Union" address. He mocks Donald Trump and talks about how he is the "GOAT" and recites a pledge about himself. Randy Royal comes out and says before we go another further, Hayes needs to stop. This isn't fun and games anymore, it pains the crowd. He wants a match with Hayes for the title. He says if Hayes beats him, no big deal because he's just an old guy. Dean Hill comes out and makes it official for next week. He says he is showing Randy a little love since it is Valentine's Day next week, but for Hayes it could be a Valentine's Day massacre!

"The Top Guys": Kevin Giza & "The Winter Swoldier" Adam Slade defeat "The Bro Godz Stunt Doubles". DL3 comes out with the Broduction Team and says they are not fighting tonight, so they have stand ins. The Top Guys take them down quickly after Slade hits some uppercuts and him & Giza hit their finisher for the 3.

After the match, the Broduction Team attacks. Scott Cardinal runs out and takes them all out, then the Top Guys dive onto all of them.

Cardinal goes after DL3, but DL3 reminds him that he can't be touched.

Amon & the Void bring out a casket and start a eulogy for Houdini. Billy O runs out and Damion goes out after him. Billy takes him out, then Chace Destiny. He has Amon chase him to the back, allowing Aloicious Hamilton to sneak in the side to save Houdini.

Alo opens the casket, but the Void gets back in to fight him. Houdini gets out of the casket and attacks Alo! He is now under Amon's spell. Billy runs back out, but gets taken out by the new Void.

ANARCHY RULES HARDCORE TITLE QUALIFIER: Big Zo defeats "The Real Deal" Randall Floyd. Zo controls early, as he slams Randall several times and goes for the Are You Serious legdrop, but Randall rolls away. He grabs a chair, but Zo blocks it. He throws it down, slams Randall on it, and hits the Are You Serious legdrop for 2. They fight to the outside, and Zo runs into the ringpost. Randall rolls him in and turns him in the modified Boston crab. LJ runs out and blasts Randall with the TV Title. Zo gets up and connects with the Zo bomb for the 3.

After the match, LJ grabs a mic. He says the thing is, he knew Randall would do something cheap to announce his rematch clause. Picking a cage match, he didn't realize he was going to war, and right now LJ is winning the war. Maybe someone can tell him when he wakes up.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Meg defeats OVW Women's Champion Jaylee (w/Dimes, DL3, & "The Bro Godz": Dustin Jackson & Colton Cage) by countout. Jaylee takes Meg down and locks in a headlock. Meg suplexes her over and takes control. Jaylee rolls out of the ring and takes the countout.

After the match, Torey Payne arrives and rolls Jaylee back in. Meg goes for a finisher, but Jaylee escapes. Torey says she is good at running, her mouth, and away from her opponents.

The Bro Godz announce that it's time for the Bro Parade! He tells Dimes to go out and get the stuff from yours truly, the "Bro-VWmania" section.

 They celebrate with champagne glasses and "Mountain Bro" as Dustin claims that they will forever be champions and godz.

"The Bro Godz": Dustin Jackson & Colton Cage (w/DL3, Dimes, & Jaylee) defeat Billy O & Aloicious Hamilton. Billy & Alo take it to the Bros early. They hit double hip tosses and dropkicks to Dustin and work him over. Colton blind tags and clocks Alo from behind. He splashes him and shoves him to Dustin, but Alo blocks a wild swing and hits a t-bone suplex. Billy tags in and high knees the Bros in opposite corners. Jaylee gets on the apron distracting the ref. Colton gets in and nails Billy from behind with one of the tag titles. DL3 pulls Alo off the apron, and Dustin gets the 3 on Billy.
