OVW TV #967: "Uncaged Animosity"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, February 28, 2018. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, a new #1 contender is named for the OVW Heavyweight Title, plus more!

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Big Zo defeats Flex. They lock up and Flex shoves Zo back twice. On the third lockup, Zo shoves Flex to the mat. Flex wants a test of strength. They lock up and reach a stalemate. Zo with a side headlock. Flex reverses. Off the ropes, Flex runs into a wall. He tries again, but can't get Zo off his feet. He tries a third time, but runs into a roundhouse kick. Zo slams him and hits the Are You Serious legdrop for 2. Zo hits the cartwheel butt bump in the corner. He goes for the Zo train, but Flex gets a boot up. Flex hits his head off each corner turnbuckle as Tony Gunn arrives to coach Flex.

Zo comes back and hits a big slam and then the Zo bomb for the 3 as Gunn shakes his head.

Amon & "The Void": Houdini & Chace Destiny defeat BGB, Ashton Cole, & "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson. Sam takes Houdini down with a reverse hip toss. Cole slams him, then BGB is in and locks in a side headlock. Houdini gets him to the corner where he tags Chace. Chace comes in and hits Sam, but Sam fires back and tags Cole. Cole with a dropkick, then BGB is back in. Chace gets him to the corner where Amon tags in. Amon rubs BGB's face across the top rope and hits him in the corner. He tags Chace back in. BGB fights him off and tags Sam. Sam takes Chace & Houdini both out with super kicks, but Amon attacks him from behind. He hits him with a pedigree and gets the 3.

Dapper Dan & Drew Crawft defeat Dre Blitz & "The Vet" Apollo "Showtime" Garvin. Dan starts off with the control against Blitz, hitting him with a big side slam. He tags Drew, and he slams Blitz. They both tag out, and Dan has control against Apollo, and he tags Drew in. They hit a double back elbow. Apollo pokes the eyes and smacks Drew. He tags Blitz in. Blitz works him over, but misses a Blitz Kick. They both tag out. Dan clotheslines Apollo and Blitz. He knocks their heads together. He then hits Apollo with the Death Valley Driver for the 3.

Mike Lacett, Dr. Ted McNaler, & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, and Brittany is the ring announcer.

"The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal accompanied by "Bad Girl" Jessie Belle make their way to the ring. Royal says he enjoyed the week off last week, but is not going to be a "paper champion". He will defend it against anyone in the back or anywhere listening and thinking about coming here. He wants Dean Hill to come out and tell him who he is facing Saturday though.

Dean comes out and says he is glad Royal is champion, he is glad Michael Hayes is gone, but he looked for someone worthy to fight for the title and got the call this afternoon. His opponent is "The Psychadelic Superstar" Chris Silvio! Royal likes it, but Adam Revolver's music hits. He comes out with Shannon the Dude.

STD says if anyone is deserving of a title shot, it's a triple crown champion like Adam. Adam says he is the most recent former champion here and challenges Royal. Royal accepts if it's non-title. Adam says he doesn't fight for nothing. If he wins, he wants in at the Special. Royal accepts, and Dean Hill's law says that match happens tonight, and it will be a triple threat at the Special if Adam wins. STD says Adam is as serious as a heart attack, and Royal will have another one after Adam wins tonight and again at the Special to become new Heavyweight Champion!

Kevin Giza (w/Adam Slade) defeats DL3 (w/Jaylee, Dimes, & "The Bro Godz": Dustin Jackson & Colton Cage). Giza with some quick offense early. He hits a hurricanrana and a 619. DL3 comes back hitting Giza with the corner clothesline. Shiloh Jonze comes to ringside also. A lot of quick back and forth until Giza gets hung up in the tree of woe and DL3 goes after his leg. Giza fights back, though, and dives out on the Bro Godz. DL3 grabs the title from Jaylee, and Slade gets in and takes it away. Shiloh gets on the apron and tells Slade to hit DL3 with it. DL3 hits Slade in the throat, and Shiloh gets in. He goes to hit DL3, but DL3 ducks, and Shiloh takes out Slade. DL3 takes Shiloh out with a faceplant, but then Giza takes DL3 out with a running knee for the 3.

After the match, the Bro Godz & Dimes attack Giza, and the Bros hit him with the Snapshot.

Cardinal runs out and takes out the Bros & Dimes. DL3 says he signed the contract and can't touch him! Cardinal says he can't touch him until a match, but last week DL3 put out an open challenge and he says it's still standing, so he accepts! He'll face him at the Special and learn that Cardinal owns you!

Mike Lacett is in the ring as Logan James comes out for his match. He asks LJ about Saturday and the interference by Randall Floyd. LJ says he beat Floyd for the title and he doesn't need Floyd sticking his nose in his business. He can win on his own and will do so again at the Special!

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The River City Dragon" Logan James (c) vs. "Livewire" KTD. NO CONTEST. As KTD makes his entrance, Randall Floyd runs out and attacks him from behind. LJ runs out after Floyd and they brawl on the outside. They have to be separated by other wrestlers from the back.

Torey Payne defeats Maria James. Maria with the early offense and control as Jaylee comes out to watch. Torey fights back, and takes Maria down with a spear. She looks to have the pin when Jaylee runs in and breaks it up to cause a DQ.

Torey fights back and slams Jaylee off her shoulders. Jaylee runs off, but is shoved back in the ring by Jessie Belle & the Varsity Babes. Torey spears her and holds up the title.

"The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (w/"Bad Girl" Jessie Belle) defeats Adam Revolver (w/Shannon the Dude). Royal has the early control and Adam rolls out for a timeout. Royal follows him out and decks him. Back inside, Royal DDT's him in the ropes and goes up top. Shannon grabs his foot and Jessie chases STD to the back with a chair. Adam takes his leg out from behind and works it over for a bit. Royal fires back and hits the reverse Russian leg sweep, followed by the backstabber. Ted McNaler jumps up from commentary and says Adam needs medical attention. Sam Thompson runs out and pulls Ted off the apron. Ted knocks him out as Zo comes out and chases Ted around the ring. Ted runs right into a super kick from Sam.

Zo throws Ted over his shoulder and carries him to the back. Inside, Adam locks Royal in the sleeper. Royal fights out, hits the Royal Flush and gets the 3.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"The Bro Godz": Dustin Jackson & Colton Cage defeat Billy O & William Lutz. Dustin is taken down with double teams from Lutz & Billy. Lutz has Dustin in a side headlock, but Colton causes a distraction to get in and hit him off. They take control, working over Lutz and hitting him with the "B-R-O". Colton then headbutts him spelling "B-R-O". Dustin hits him with a big slam, then a beautiful dropkick after the Bros have a race with elbow drops. Dustin slams Lutz near the corner and goes up top, but Lutz gets up and slams Dustin off. He gets the tag to Billy who cleans house. He hits Dustin with a boot and goes for the pin, but Colton breaks it up. Billy knocks him out of the ring, then Dustin knocks Billy out of the ring. Colton gets back in and hits the snapshot with Dustin on Lutz for the 3.

"The Real Deal" Randall Floyd defeats "The Winter Swoldier" Adam Slade & Lukas Gibson. Lukas runs out to make this a triple threat. Lukas & Slade say Randall is big. Randall says thank you, but gets double teamed and knocked out of the ring. Lukas then goes after Slade. Randall gets back in and knocks Lukas off the top rope to the outside. He then focuses on Slade.

Randall stomps the extremities of Slade as Lukas keeps trying to get back in, but Randall keeps knocking him back to the floor. Lukas finally shoulders his way in. He knocks Slade out of the ring, but Randall hits him with the Deal Breaker slam for the 3. He tells the ref he should count to 50.
