OVW TV #999: War Woes & Winning Bros

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, October 3, 2018. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at OVW TV. In this episode, Tyler Matrix returns to face his old rival Adam Revolver, the Bro Godz defend the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles against the War Kings, plus more!

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"King's Ransom": Maximus & Leonis Khan defeat "The Hernandez Brothers": Christian & Drew. Leonis locks up with Christian and locks the arm. Christian backs him into the corner and tags Drew. Leonis is worked over in the corner and Drew drops him with a shoulder block. Leonis back with an arm drag and tags Maximus. They deliver a double back elbow. Maximus works over the arm. Drew throws him into the corner and splashes him. He shoulders him, but Maximus comes back and works over the arm. He tags Leonis, who flips in and hits a big jumping clothesline for 2. Off the ropes, Christian grabs Leonis' hair and pulls him down across the top rope. Christian tags in and works the arm, then tags Drew back in. Drew locks in a sleeper. Leonis works up, then off the ropes, they double clothesline each other. Maximus gets the hot tag and takes down Drew, then Christian with a jumping clothesline as he runs in. Drew grabs him for a slam, but shoves him into Christian in the corner. Leonis gets in and they deliver a double spinebuster to Drew to get the 3.

"Bad Girl" Jessie Belle defeats Brittany Garcia. Jessie with a quick takedown and twirling legdrop for 2. Off the ropes, Brittany kicks Jessie and takes her down for 2. She hits an inverted atomic drop, then snapmares her. Jessie fires back and clotheslines her in the corner. She hits the Kiss My Grits in the corner and Brittany tries to reverse a throw, but Jessie locks her up for the Belle Ringer to get the 3.

Dimes defeats Eddie Knight. Quick offense and several roll-up attempts early. They exchange chops, and Eddie thinks he has it in the bag, but Dimes gets him with a sunset flip for the 3. After the match, Dimes offers a handshake, but Eddie slaps his hand away and walks off.

OVW Women's Champion Jaylee & Cali come out and say they challenged "Princess Fiona", they mean Meg Monroe, to a 6-women tag at episode #1000. They call her out, even though they know she doesn't have any friends to fight with her. Meg says she does have partners, and they are ODB & Victoria!

Valerie Vermin attacks her from behind and throws her in the ring. Cali & Jaylee go to clothesline her, but Meg clotheslines them instead, and sends them running.

"The Trinidad Titan" Justin Smooth & "The Real Deal" Randall Floyd defeat Crazzy Steve & Amon. Smooth fires away on Amon and slams him. Off the ropes, he hits him with a big spinebuster. He gets him into the corner and tags Floyd. Amon drives Floyd into his corner and tags Steve. Floyd comes back with a slam and Steve tags out. Amon runs in and Floyd tries to get him in the modified Boston crab. Amon kicks him to the corner where Steve awaits to lock him in a tarantula hold in the ropes. Amon works him over and tags Steve. Floyd tries a quick roll up for 2. Amon tags back in and they hit Floyd with a double back elbow. Amon has him locked in a submission and as Floyd works his way to the corner for the tag, Steve causes a distraction. Floyd tags Smooth, but the ref doesn't see it. Floyd gets worked over by Steve & Amon in their corner. Steve throws him off the ropes, and Floyd comes back with a sunset flip for 2. Back to the corner, Amon tags in and locks in the submission again. Floyd gets the tag to a fresh Smooth. Smooth fires away on Amon, and then hits him with a spinebuster. He knocks Steve to the floor and hits the bicycle kick on Amon to get the 3.

After the match, Amon & Steve attack Floyd & Smooth with the chains. The Void comes out and they bring chairs. They hold Smooth down in the middle of the ring with a chair set up across his ribs. Amon hits it with another chair, possible severely injuring Smooth ahead of episode 1000 next week!

Gilbert Corsey says it's like deja vu, as Smooth is injured after another attack. Smooth refuses help and says he could moan, but he is going to stand up and every time he gets knocked down, he is going to get up 5 times stronger! This has been a dream since he got to OVW, and they will have to put him in a casket to stop him from becoming OVW Heavyweight Champion!

DL3, Shiloh Jonze, & Big D are out. DL3 says Mike Eagle showed up and Shiloh was off his game. He had a sore throat. Shiloh then raps about Mike Eagle. They challenge him for the "crown" right now. A ref is out and they make him count out Mike Eagle. Before the ref gets to 10, Dean Hill comes out. He asks Shiloh what is wrong with him. Dean says he knows Eagle isn't here. Dean says he only has the guts to call him out because he knows Eagle isn't even in this state. He did send in a video. Shiloh says he better know he's bringing his posse. Dean says he better, because Eagle is bringing some friends of his own!

"The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix defeats "The Snake" Adam Revolver (w/Shannon the Dude). Adam & Tyler lock up into the corner. Adam chops him instead of a clean break. Tyler only gets angry and chops Adam back. Adam tries to lock in the sleeper. Tyler breaks free and hits a hurricanrana. He goes for the swanton, but Adam rolls out. Tyler goes for a dive, but STD is on the apron. Tyler slides through his legs and pulls him down. He turns into a clothesline from Adam. Adam tries to lock the sleeper in again on the apron. Tyler pulls him down and goes up top. Adam catches him and they exchange blows. Tyler knocks him down and goes for the swanton, but Adam puts his knees up and locks him in the sleeper! Tyler is fading, but on the third arm raise, finds his second wind. He works his way out and reverses. Adam flips him over, but Tyler kicks him in the head. He delivers a pele kick, then a neckbreaker. He goes up again, but STD jumps up. Tyler kicks him off and hits the swanton, but before the 3, Josh Ashcraft hits the ring and attacks Tyler.

Michael Hayes runs out to save Tyler. As Adam, STD, & Josh retreat, Melvin Maximus shows up behind Adam and tosses him back in the ring.

Tyler super kicks him into a side slam from Hayes!

OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: "The Bro Godz": Dustin Jackson & Colton Cage (c) defeat "The War Kings": Jax Dane & Crimson. All 4 men go at it and fight on the outside before the bell rings. Inside, Jax tosses Dustin with an overhead suplex. Crimson comes in and works him over in the corner. Dustin dropkicks Crimson to the outside, but Crimson pulls him out and throws him into the steel steps. Jax tags in and stomps Dustin and hits him in the corner. He tags Crimson and they take Dustin down. Jax locks in a submission. Dustin works his way up, but off the ropes, Jax plows him down to the mat. Dustin fires back again, and gets the hot tag to Colton. Colton fires away, but Jax reverses a throw off the ropes, and Crimson trips Colton. Jax then plows Colton out of the ring. Back inside, Jax hits Dustin. The ref keeps Dustin from getting in as the Kings double team Colton in the corner. Crimson headbutts Colton and delivers a suplex. Colton finally gets a hot tag. Dustin fires away and hits a beautiful dropkick on Crimson. Jax gets in and hits him with a Samoan drop. Colton gets in and hits Jax with the scissor kick. Crimson spears Colton. Dustin is back up and caught in between Jax & Crimson. Crimson goes to spear Dustin, but Dustin moves, and he spears Jax! Colton pulls Crimson out as Dustin gets the 3 on Jax!

This ended the TV taping.

The bracket for OVW 1000 will be Jax Dane vs. Crimson with the winner facing the winner of Abyss vs. Hurricane Helms, and Justin Smooth vs. Tommy Dreamer with the winner facing the winner of Billy Gunn vs. Randall Floyd. The "Team of Champions" match will be Rocco Bellagio, Tyler Matrix, Melvin Maximus, & Michael Hayes vs. Nova, Adam Revolver, Jay Bradley, & Paul Burchill.

DARK MATCH: DL3 & Shiloh Jonze (w/Big D) defeat Big Zo & "Livewire" KTD. Zo & KTD control early. Zo takes DL3 & Shiloh both out with a double clothesline. KTD fires away on both with uppercut shots. A distraction by Shiloh allows DL3 to hit KTD from behind and take control. DL3 throws him to the floor where Big D kicks him. Back inside, Shiloh holds KTD down for DL3 to drop an elbow. He locks a sleeper in, but KTD hits a chinbuster. Both men tag and Zo plows Shiloh over. He hits a big right and goes for the pin, but DL3 distracts the ref. Zo slams Shiloh and goes for the Zo bomb, but Big D covers Zo's head with a flag. Shiloh low blows Zo and rolls him up for the 3.
