OVW TV 1025: Colton Sees a Ghost

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, April 3, 2019. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and on the OVW Network. In this episode, Dimes defends the TV Title in the gauntlet, Colton Cage has a funeral for Dustin Jackson, Justin Smooth picks an opponent for Tony Gunn, plus more!

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Drew Hernandez defeats Nigel Winters. They lock up. Nigel off the ropes, comes back with a sunset flip attempt. Drew picks him up. Off the ropes again, Drew catches a reverse cross body attempt by Nigel. Nigel takes him down and goes for a monkey flip. Drew blocks and goes for a powerbomb. Nigel slides off and monkey flips him. He jumps on Drew's back and locks in a sleeper. Drew rams him into the corner to break the hold. Nigel leaps at him in the corner, but gets caught for a powerbomb. Drew picks him up and Nigel tries to fight back, but he hits a second powerbomb and gets the 3.

"The Trinidad Titan" Justin Smooth defeats William Lutz (w/Ashton Cove). Smooth grabs him out of the corner and plows him down. Lutz rolls out and takes a timeout to talk to Cove on the outside. Smooth goes after him and Lutz stomps him as he gets back in the ring. Off the ropes, Smooth hits him with a back body drop. He delivers the spinebuster, then the bicycle kick and gets the 3.

Amon defeats Eddie Knight. Amon shoves him down and throws him off the ropes. Eddie leaps at him and gets caught. Eddie slides out of a hold and shoves Amon. Amon comes back with some clubbing blows and locks in a full nelson. He escapes and throws Amon to the corner, but runs into a boot. Amon locks the full nelson back in. Eddie drops with a chinbuster. Amon clubs him again for 2. He locks in a chinlock. Eddie works up and Amon claws his back. Eddie fires back and hits the 10-count punches in the corner. He hits the flying forearm off the ropes and goes up top for the flying elbow drop. Amon moves, hits the STH, and gets the 3.

TELEVISION TITLE GAUNTLET MATCH:
Brandon Wolfe defeats Chace Destiny. A lot of quick back and forth action early. Chace knocks Wolfe to the outside and follows him out. Back inside, Wolfe with a quick rollup with tights for the 3.
Dimes (c) defeats Brandon Wolfe. Dimes goes right after him, but Wolfe takes him down and kicks him. A quick takedown by Wolfe, Dimes returns the favor. Wolfe back with a clothesline to the back of the head for 2. Wolfe chokes him in the ropes, then in the corner. Off the ropes, Wolfe superkicks him in the face for 2. Dimes fires back and hits a superkick of his own. Wolfe reverses a suplex into a neckbreaker drop. He splashes Dimes in the corner and jumps in with a clothesline off the top rope for 2. He goes for another, but Dimes catches him with a cutter for the 3.
Dimes (c) defeats DL3 (w/Shiloh Jonze & Big D). DL3 goes after Dimes and hits the corner clothesline. He hits a double knee to the head of a seated Dimes. He hits him off the ropes and distracts the ref so Shiloh can interfere. Dimes catches him with a double boot to the face and knocks Shiloh & D off the apron. He gets knocked out of the air by DL3 and DL3 locks in a submission. Dimes fires out and clotheslines him. He hits a back elbow and dropkicks the knees. He goes for the springboard stunner, but Shiloh hits him. Dimes hits the stunner on DL3 and gets the 3. Shiloh attacks him as soon as the 3 count hits.
Dimes (c) defeats Shiloh Jonze (w/Big D & DL3). Shiloh works Dimes over and Dimes fires back. They exchange hard chops. Dimes with a clothesline in the corner and kicks to the head. Shiloh with a hard reverse throw to the corner. He shoulders him, then charges again and Dimes flips over and rolls him up for the 3.
Dimes (c) defeats Big D (w/DL3 & Shiloh Jonze). Dimes dives out onto D. DL3 hits him from behind with the title while Shiloh distracts the ref. D works Dimes over and splashes him. Dimes fights back and hits a sunset flip for the 3!
Shiloh, D, & DL3 attack him and get ran off by Big Zo & Chace Destiny!

Colton Cage & Dani come out with a casket and a poster of Dustin Jackson that says "We Won't Miss You" in the ring. He says he is going to miss Dustin for what he was. He was the best mouth-breather. He says he was also the best at throwing vienna sausages and brushing his teeth with sharp cheddar cheese. He was the tallest oompa-loompa and had the best tan of all the California raisins. Dustin pops up out of the casket and hits Colton over the head with the poster and knocks him out of the ring.
Lilly comes out and Gilbert Corsey gets in and asks Dustin if he's sure he wants to face Colton Saturday. Dustin says Colton put him in jail and almost ended his career. Gilbert goes through his injuries and Dustin says he just wants to kick Colton's butt. Gilbert has a hold harmless agreement and if Dustin is absolutely sure, he just has to sign it and the cage match is on. Dustin signs it and says he will break Colton's face!

Jaylee & Valerie Vermin come out. Jaylee says she is going to end Cali's career and title reign. Val agrees and says on the off chance she can't get it done, Val will be there and in the ring. Since she beat Cali last week, it will be a triple threat match. Jaylee doesn't like hearing this and attacks Val.

Tony Gunn's music hits and Ca$h Flo attacks him from behind. Justin Smooth comes out with a bag of popcorn to watch...
"Shotgun" Tony Gunn vs. Ca$h Flo. Ca$h works him over and chops him hard. He rolls Tony in and flips in on him! Off the ropes, Ca$h catches him and hits a fall away slam for 2. Gunn tries to chop back, but Ca$h knees him. He splashes him in the corner. Off the ropes, Gunn tries a sunset flip. Ca$h drops his weight down on top of him and locks in a chicken wing. Gunn is fading. He works back up and hits an enziguri. He charges Ca$h in the corner, shouldering him, then hits a running knee to the face. Gunn goes up and misses the flying knee. Ca$h slams him into the corner, then to the mat for 2! Ca$h locks up the arm. Gunn tries to reach the ropes, but Ca$h pulls him back. Gunn works out and starts firing back, but Ca$h hits him with a cross body for 2! Ca$h with another big chop, then another, then a third. Gunn hulks up and Ca$h hits him in the face. Gunn fires back and hits a facebreaker off the knee. He charges Ca$h in the corner. Up top, Gunn hits the flying knee. He argues with Smooth on the outside. Smooth gets on the apron and Ca$h charges at Gunn. Gunn collides into Smooth on the apron. He hits Ca$h with a Killshot and goes out and battles with Smooth. The ref calls for the bell.
The officials come out to try and separate them as they continue brawling around the ringside area.

This ended the TV taping.

DARK MATCH: "The 97 Year Old Wrestling Extraordinaire" Thunderkitty & Rose Wilde defeat Brittany Garcia & "Amazing" Maria James. Maria & Brittany work over Rose for the majority of the match until she finally gets a hot tag to Kitty. Kitty fires away on both opponents. She claws Brittany and takes her down for a Boston crab and a tapout as Rose knocks Maria down from stopping the submission.

DARK MATCH: "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson & "Kings Ransom": Maximus & Leonis Khan defeat Nick Stanley & "The War Kings": Jax Dane & Crimson. Nick gets Sam in the corner and shoves him in the face. He kicks Sam and takes him down. Sam back with some arm drags and a kick to the head. He tags Leonis and they deliver a double suplex. Leonis then press slams Sam onto Nick. Nick tags out to Crimson. Crimson kicks Leonis, but Leonis tags Maximus and they double clothesline Crimson out of the ring. Leonis flies out onto all 3 of them. Sam tags in and delivers several charging forearms to Crimson in the corner before Jax plows him over. The War Kings & Nick triple team Sam and work him over. Sam starts to fire back, but Nick plows him down with a back elbow. Crimson tags in and hits him, then tags Jax. They splash Sam in the corner and Jax plows him down again. Crimson works him over, but misses an elbow drop. He tags Nick and Sam tags Leonis. They knock the War Kings down and powerbomb Nick. Sam flies off the top, but Jax breaks the pin at 2. Nick flies off with a dropkick to Sam's face as all the Kings fight to the back. Sam comes back with a quick rollup on Nick for the 3.
