OVW TV 1027: A Little Change in OVW

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, April 17, 2019. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and on the OVW Network. In this episode, Dimes makes a big challenge to Tony Gunn, Dani gets herself into some trouble with Lily, Kings Ransom defends the Southern Tag Team Titles against Ca$h Flo and a partner of his choosing, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus (w/Mrs. Marvelous) defeats "Livewire" KTD. Melvin gets attacked before the bell. KTD hits him in the corner and clotheslines him in the corner. Melvin shoulders him down and hits a back body drop. He plants him with the powerslam for the 3.

Drew Hernandez defeats Big D (w/Shiloh Jonze & DL3). Big D issues a challenge and Drew answers. DL3 charges at Drew, but Drew flings him out of the ring. Big D hits him from behind, but Drew comes back with a shoulder block. Shiloh distracts him and Big D hits him again and delivers a side slam. Drew fires back as DL3 & Shiloh get in again. He moves and they run into each other. He goes for another meeting of the minds, but Big D hits him from behind and slams him. He goes up top and hits a moonsault, but Drew moves. Shiloh & DL3 are dancing on the apron, not knowing Big D missed. Drew hits their heads into each other. He then powerbombs Big D for the 3.

TRIPLE THREAT for $1000:
Brandon Wolfe defeats William Lutz & Ashton Cove. Wolfe gets double teamed by Lutz & Cove out of the gate. Wolfe locks a headlock on Cove, then Lutz locks one on Wolfe. Off the ropes, Lutz & Cove run into each other. Wolfe tries to pin Cove, then Lutz trying to break it up, keeps hitting Cove by accident as Wolfe moves. They shove each other, but Wolfe dropkicks Lutz, kicks Cove, and hits him with a snap suplex. Wolfe gets thrown out of the ring as Lutz & Cove fight it out. Lutz gets the upperhand on Cove, but Wolfe throws Lutz out, then hits a standing moonsault on Cove for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 9PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at OVW TV.

Gilbert Corsey, Josh Ashcraft, & Dr. Ted McNaler are on commentary, and Brittany Devore is the ring announcer.

SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: "Kings Ransom": Maximus & Leonis Khan defeat Ca$h Flo & Brandon Espinosa. Espy & Ca$h attack them in the corner, but off the ropes, they both come back with clotheslines. Espy gets knocked out of the ring, but Ca$h stays on his feet. Ca$h catches Leonis in a bearhug and tags Espy. The Kings regain control until Ca$h kicks Maximus in the back from the apron. He gets chopped and worked over. Espy goes for a back drop, but Maximus flips over and tags Leonis. Leonis fires away, but gets taken down and Ca$h goes up top for the flying legdrop. Espy gets kicked into the ropes, knocking Ca$h down. Espy turns into a spear and a swanton bomb for the 3.
After the match, Ca$h says they beat his partner. He wants another shot next week with another partner of his choosing. He knows they can't pin him. The Kings accept.

Dimes comes out and says that neither Justin Smooth or Tony Gunn believe he is big enough to compete for the Heavyweight Title, but the TV Title proves he belongs. He calls Gunn out. Gunn says he needs to understand what it means to be a champion.
Smooth comes out and says they both suck and Dimes is lucky to have a title in the ring. They all argue and Dimes & Gunn both end up agreeing to put their titles on the line in the gauntlet match tonight, meaning someone will walk away with two championships!

Hayley Shadows defeats "The 97 Year Old Wrestling Extraordinaire" Thunderkitty. Cali Young is on commentary. They lock up around the ring. Kitty takes her down with a snap suplex. Kitty locks in a claw. She then hits a kneelift and locks in the Boston crab, but someone comes to the ring with flowers. Cali gets up and takes them and throws them down. This allows Kitty to recover and roll Kitty up for the 3!

Colton Cage & Dani come out and Dani talks about her week. She's dealt with crazy, but this is next level. She says Lily & Dustin Jackson attacked them like barbarians, when they were innocently out here to spend time with the fans. She says Lily has been blowing her phone up, tracking her car, making a fake email address, and calls her a psycho slut.
Lily comes out with Dustin and says you don't slander her name like that. Dani says she thought she would come out here and threaten her, so she got a restraining order and calls an officer out. The officer puts Lily in handcuffs, but looks at the order. She unlocks Lily and locks up Dani instead, taking her out of the building in cuffs!

Dimes defeats Amon. Dimes hits Amon with an enziguri. Amon fires back in the corner and throws him to the opposite. He charges and Dimes leaps over him, but hurts his knee. Amon clips it and bites it. He stomps the knee and works it over. He locks Dimes in a full nelson, but Dimes drops and delivers a chinbuster. Dimes goes for the Change Maker, but Amon hits the STH. Justin Smooth breaks the pin at 2 and hides so the ref doesn't see it. Dimes comes back with the Change Maker for the 3!
Dimes (c) defeats "Shotgun" Tony Gunn. Gunn goes after Dimes and works over the knee. He twists it up. Dimes off the ropes goes for the stunner, but Gunn catches him and delivers three release German suplexes. Smooth distracts Gunn on the apron. Gunn clotheslines him as Dimes recovers.

He hits the cartwheel butt bump and back elbows. Kyle comes back with a pele kick. They exchange forearms. Zo misses a splash in the corner. Kyle goes up top and is caught. Kyle slides out and Zo hits the running cross body for the 3.

DARK MATCH: Chace Destiny & Eddie Knight defeat "The Entourage 2.0": Shiloh Jonze & DL3 (w/Big D). Chace keeps DL3 & Shiloh off their game early, with them running into each other and hitting each other by accident. With Eddie in, DL3 accidentally kicks Shiloh off the ropes. They argue and Eddie throws Shiloh out of the ring and flips DL3 in. Big D charges in, but Eddie side steps him and he flies out. Eddie jumps out onto D. He goes up top for the flying elbow, but Shiloh shoves him off while DL3 fakes an injury. DL3 & Shiloh keep him grounded in their corner, working him over. He gets a hot tag to Chace, but DL3 & Shiloh come back and take him out with their finisher for the 3.
