OVW TV 1047: Sami One Step A-"Head" of Al

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, September 4, 2019. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and on the OVW Network. In this episode, Drew Hernandez defends the TV Title in the gauntlet, the Legacy of Brutality gets a challenge from Kings Ransom, a battle royal to determine the last entrant in the $100,000 ladder match, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"Kings Ransom": Maximus & Leonis Khan defeats Chace & Nigel. The Kings control early until Chace causes Leonis to get out of his corner. With the ref distracted, Chace helps Nigel gain control against Maximus. Maximus finally gets the hot tag to Leonis. He clotheslines through Nigel & Chace, then press slams Nigel. He tags Maximus and hits the spear on Chace. Maximus covers Chace for the 3!

"The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson defeats Big D. Sam with a kick. He hits a slingblade and goes up top, but D hits the ropes and knocks him down. D works him over in the corner, clubbing him. Sam off the ropes, comes back with a headscissor takedown. D runs into a boot, and Sam hits him with a neckbreaker. Sam goes up top and hits a flying cross body for the 3!

"The Real Deal" Randall Floyd defeats Dapper Dan. Dan tries to sucker punch Floyd, but Floyd blocks him and fires back. Dan gets in the corner and rakes Floyd's eyes behind the ref's back. He chokes Floyd and slams him. He locks in a submission, but Floyd back with a chinbuster. Floyd hits, then kicks him, and follows it up with a suplex. Floyd rolls him over in the modified Boston crab for the tapout.

Brandon Wolfe defeats AJZ. AJZ poses and runs out. Wolfe with a dropkick. AJZ is chased around the ring and clubs Wolfe as he comes back in. He works him over and hits a kneedrop. Wolfe fires back, but misses a standing moonsault. AJZ is unable to take advantage, as Wolfe fires back again and hits the standing moonsault for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 9PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at OVW TV.

Gilbert Corsey & Ted McNaler are on commentary, and Brittany Devore & Mercy Keller are the ring announcers.

Dustin Jackson comes out and says he wants answers from Tony Gunn and isn't going anywhere until he comes out. Randall Floyd comes out and says he doesn't see eye-to-eye with most people in the back, especially not Dustin. They are on the same page wanting answers from Gunn though.
Al Snow comes out and says everyone wants answers, but they need to go to the back. They want a match sanctioned tonight. Gunn shows up from the side entrance with a bat. Al wants answers. Gunn takes the mic, but drops it in front of them and flips the finger. They chase him out the side door!

TELEVISION TITLE GAUNTLET:
Dimes defeats KTD. Several exchanges, followed by an exchanging of chops. Dimes dropkicks the knee of KTD, hits a headscissor takedown, and then the Change Maker for the 3.
Dimes defeats William Lutz. Lutz tries several quick pin attempts. Dimes with a roll-up of his own, followed by a dropkick. Dimes with a suplex, but misses a standing moonsault. Lutz hits Dimes in the corner. Lutz with a spinning neckbreaker. He goes up top, but Dimes avoids the moonsault. He connects with the Change Maker for the 3.
Dimes defeats Colton Cage. Cage goes on the attack and suplexes him. He throws him out of the ring and hits him on the outside. Back in the ring, Cage splashes him in the corner. Dimes avoids a charge, but Cage claws his eyes. He hits the Sideburn Effect and chokes him on the mat. He locks in a sleeper. Dimes works his way up, but runs into a clothesline. Cage pins for 2. Dimes tries to fire back, but Cage headbutts him. He chokes him in the ropes. Cage slaps him in the face. Off the ropes, Dimes comes back with a Change Maker for the 3.
Drew Hernandez (c) defeats Dimes. Drew picks Dimes up, but gets hit in the face. Dimes goes off the ropes for the Change Maker, but Drew catches him and delivers the Mayan Apocalypse for the 3.
Drew Hernandez (c) defeats Amon. Amon grabs him from behind and hits a side slam. He drools on him. He has control until Sinn Bodhi's music hits. A clown comes out and delivers a gift to Amon. He opens it and it's a jack-in-the-box. It's a long enough distraction that Drew recovers and rolls Amon up for the 3.

Megan Bayne comes out and says that all of her challengers always try to find a way to tell her she doesn't belong. The same thing for Madison Rayne. She better enjoy her long trip back when she fails to beat her for the Women's Title. She gets interrupted by the Legacy of Brutality. Josh Ashcraft tells her that she is taking up their time and she needs to leave and make them a snack or something before she gets something that she'll regret.
Kings Ransom runs out with chairs and chases the L.O.B. off. They say that the L.O.B. has had 2 things on them...numbers and experience. They are going to take care of that next week at Fight for Freedom, as they are bringing the Rock 'n' Roll Express to partner with them against the L.O.B. in an 8-man tag!

Shiloh Jonze comes out and wants to be serious. He says sometimes things go too far, and he'd like to apologize to "Mr. & Mrs. Marvelous". Big D comes out as Melvin, while DL3 later comes out as Mrs. Marvelous. The real Melvin comes out and challenges Shiloh to a match next week at Fight for Freedom. Shiloh calls him an idiot and says he has a partner, so Melvin needs one too. Melvin says he has one...Mrs. Marvelous comes out and says she will be his partner! She squeezes DL3's hand hard and slams him across the ring, while Melvin takes out Shiloh & D!

BATTLE ROYAL for the FINAL SPOT in the $100,000 LADDER MATCH at FIGHT FOR FREEDOM: Brandon Wolfe, Dapper Dan, Ashton Cove, KTD, "The Veteran" Apollo, Chace, Adam Revolver, & "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson. Sam tosses KTD. Dan tries to get the money, but the guards knock him down and stop him. As he gets back in the ring arguing with them, Sam comes over and tosses Dan over the top. Apollo is eliminated. Cove & Wolfe fight on the apron and Wolfe kicks Cove off. Wolfe tosses Chace. Sam & Wolfe eliminate Adam. Sam & Wolfe exchange blows as Tony Gunn runs out. He knocks them both out with the bat, then hits Dustin Jackson, Randall Floyd, and even Al Snow! He flips off the camera and runs out as the OVW locker room empties.
Al says oVe will be on the show next week, that way they're under his rule, his law. Sami Callihan & Tony Gunn will face Dustin Jackson & Randall Floyd in an anything goes tag match. Sami appears on the TV's and says he got exactly what he wanted.

This ended the TV taping.
