OVW TV 1098: A Dark & "Storm"-y Night for Corey

This is the OVW Report for Tuesday, August 11, 2020. In this episode, a Rush Title rematch between Dimes & Corey Storm with Jay Bradley banned from ringside, Ryan Howe returns to action, plus more!

OVW Overdrive (Airing Saturdays at 11AM):

Bryan Kennison & Steven Johnson are on commentary, Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

"The Complete Package": "Supernatural" Tony Bizo & "The 6-Tool Product" Anthony Catena defeat Flash Thompson & "Livewire" KTD. A dominant performance by Bizo & Catena. They control the offense throughout and finish Flash off with their double-team finisher for the 3.

Dustin Jackson defeats "All Day" Marshe Rockett. Quick back and forth off the ropes early with both men going for a dropkick ends in a stalemate. Dustin connects with his dropkick, and Marshe takes a break at the guardrail outside the ring. Dustin rolls him back in and goes up top. He leaps over Marshe, then Marshe connects with a dropkick and chops Dustin in the corner twice. He uppercuts Dustin in the opposite corner and then does the same in the opposite corner again. He misses a third, and Dustin hits a running boot to the face off the ropes. Dustin clotheslines him in the corner, then gets flipped to the apron. Dustin hits him and goes up top. He misses a flying body press and Marshe hits a spinebuster for 2. He sets Dustin up top and chops him again. He goes up for a superplex, but Dustin hits him off, hits the splash off the top, and gets the 3.

"The Tate Twins": Brandon & Brent defeats "The Mayan Mauler" Drew Hernandez & Gustavo. Gustavo with quick arm drags early and a 1-count. The Tates take control and hit a double elbow drop for 2 as Drew breaks the pin. He pulls Gustavo over for the tag and comes in and chops Brent. He tags Gustavo and suplexes Gustavo on Brent. Drew tags back in and works Brent over, but misses an elbow drop. Both men tag and Brandon comes in on fire. He kicks him in the face and hits a double foot stomp across his chest for 2. Drew charges in, but the Tates pull down the top rope. They hit Gustavo with a double eat de-feet and front face slam for the 3.

"The Nephilim" D'mone Solavino vs. "Rockstar" Ryan Howe. Howe locks him up into the corner. He chops him, but D'mone takes him down and fires away. Underhook suplex by D'mone. He shoulders Howe in the corner, but Howe comes back and hits a sunset flip for 2. D'mone throws him into the corner hard, but misses a charge. D'mone goes over the top rope, but flips himself back in. He runs into a hard clothesline from Howe, then the Rock 'n' Roll DDT for the 3.
WINNER: HOWE by pinfall.

Adam Revolver is out in a hazmat suit with doctors and his own sign language guy. He gives tips in what he calls a weekly installment of his Covid update.

Roman Rozell vs. DL3 (w/Cali Young).
DL3 attacks Roman on the outside after using Cali as a shield. Back inside, Roman with a fireman's carry into an armbar. DL3 rolls out and blames Cali. Roman goes out and hits his head off the apron. He rolls him in and locks in a headlock and gator rolls with him. DL3 rolls out and blames Cali again. Roman chases him around the ring. Back inside, DL3 misses an elbow drop and Roman kicks him in the corner. He throws him to the opposite corner and misses a charge. DL3 stomps him and Roman starts to fire back, but DL3 rakes his eyes. DL3 yells at Cali again, then turns into a takedown from Roman into the single leg Boston crab submission for the tapout.
WINNER: ROMAN by submission.

"Big Beef" Gnarls Garvin & "JMO" Jesse Morris vs. "The Legacy of Brutality": Steve Michaels & "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya (w/Josh Ashcraft, Big Zo, & Ca$h Flo).
Hy & Steve fire away on them in the corners. Steve hits JMO out of the ring, as Hy hip toss slams Garvin to the mat. Steve hits a legdrop, Hy hits the Ninja Vanish, then Steve with a big splash for the easy 3.
WINNERS: LEGACY by pinfall.
After the match, Josh says he dares and challenges anyone to step up to them, especially with the newest addition to the L.O.B., Steve Michaels!

RUSH TITLE MATCH (JAY BRADLEY banned from ringside): "Category 5" Corey Storm vs. Dimes (c).
Storm goes after Dimes and chases him backstage. They fight back down the entrance way with Corey taking control, hitting Dimes around ringside and into the ring. They fight outside again. Back inside, Corey hits and shoulders him in the corner. Dimes rolls out again and Corey goes after him. He throws him in the ringpost, chops him, then kicks him. Back inside, Storm covers for 2. Kicks to Dimes, suplexes, and another cover for 2. Corey misses the Eye of the Storm and Dimes throat thrusts him. Storm back with chops, but Dimes pulls him into the turnbuckle. Quick rollup attempts for 2 by Storm. Corey with a clothesline. He hits a spinebuster off the ropes for 2. Dimes rakes his eyes. Storm takes him to the mat and fires away again. Dimes kicks Corey away as he tries to pick him up by the feet. Corey charges him in the corner. He throws Dimes toward the corner. He avoids the ref, but Corey dropkicks Dimes into the ref by accident. Storm takes him down, but there's no ref. A second ref comes out and counts 2.
Jay Bradley sneaks out as ref #2 checks on ref #1. He hands Dimes a chair. Dimes accidentally hits ref #2. Jay gets in and chokeslams Corey on the chair. Ref #1 gets back up, but Corey kicks out at 2. Jay gets in to deliver a Boomstick, but Corey kicks him in the head and Jay rolls out. Corey goes off the ropes, but Dimes trips him up, rolls him up with a handful of tights, and gets the 3.
WINNER and STILL RUSH CHAMPION: DIMES by pinfall.

This ended the TV taping.
