OVW TV 1136: Gettin' Lucky in Kentucky!

This is the OVW Report for Thursday, May 20, 2021.

Tonight, the Kentucky Heavyweight Title Tournament continues! Shannon the Dude faces Rex, Brandon Espinosa faces Rush Champion Star Rider, and Gustavo faces Ryan Howe in first round matchups. Plus, much more!

PRE-SHOW:
AJ McKay is the ring announcer.

"The Iron Bear"
 Tom Coffey vs. "Mr. Juicy" Luscious Lawrence
.
Tom locks Luscious up from behind and Luscious wiggles. Tom drops Luscious on his head. They exchange blows and Luscious charges into a boot from Tom. Tom with a hard clothesline. He misses a charge in the corner and Luscious butt butts him in the corner. Luscious catches Tom with his feet in the corner and drives Tom's face into his backside. Tom pulls Luscious off the ropes, but Luscious comes back with an atomic drop, then an inverted atomic drop. He finishes him off with the fameasser for the 3.
WINNER: LUSCIOUS by pinfall.

"The Candidate for a Brighter Future in Wrestling"
 Koda Jacobs vs. "Satan's Favorite Sinner" Amon

Koda says he will cleanse OVW of all demons and there is not a chance in hell that he won't win the Kentucky Heavyweight Title. This brings out his opponent. Koda gets scared out of the ring. Koda tries to hit Amon from behind, but it doesn't faze him. Amon grabs him by the throat and headbutts him, then clubs him from behind. He spits in his hands and rubs them through Koda's hair and face. He clotheslines him 3 times and grabs him by the tie. Koda reverses a throw and tosses Amon out of the ring. Koda recovers and grabs Amon's chain as Amon gets back in. He goes to hit Amon, but Amon blocks it and takes the chain away. Amon clocks Koda with it and the ref calls for the bell.
WINNER: KODA by DQ.
After the match, Amon proceeds to hit Koda with the STH.

"The Legacy of Brutality"
: Big Zo & Steve Michaels (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) vs. Jake Omen & William Lutz
.
Zo shoves Omen down. Omen back with a kick, uppercut, and boot to the side of the head. Both men tag and Lutz tries to drop toehold Steve. Steve doesn't budge and Lutz tries a side headlock instead. Steve throws him off and Omen tags in. Omen gets kicked in the back by Zo and Zo tags in. Zo kicks him around the ring and slams him hard. He hits the Are You Serious? leg drop and tags Steve. Steve with a shot to the ribcage. Omen back with two jawjackers, but Steve shoves him to the corner. Omen rolls through Steve's legs and tags Lutz. Lutz gets compacted in the corner, but boots Steve in the face and tags Omen. They try to double team Steve, but he pulls them into each other and throws them off the ropes. Zo pulls the ropes down and Lutz flies out to the floor. Meanwhile, Steve chokeslams Omen and Zo tags in and hits the Zo bomb for the 3.
WINNERS: LEGACY by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):
Bryan Kennison & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, AJ McKay is the ring announcer.

"The Sultan of the Sky"
Blanco Loco
 vs. "The Neon Ninja" Facade vs. "Mr. Zero Gravity" AJ Daniels.
Very fast-paced action. AJ hits some kicks to Facade, before being taken down by Loco. Several kicks from each competitor and action off the ropes. Loco hits a cutter off the ropes to AJ, but Facade breaks the pin. Facade moonsaults off the ropes onto both men and covers AJ for 2. Facade slams AJ and goes to climb. Loco charges in with an uppercut. Loco goes up and Facade kicks him in the head. Facade with a flying headscissors taking Loco crashing down onto AJ on the mat! Loco takes Facade out and then dives out on him & AJ. Facade gets back in and does a flip out onto AJ & Loco. Back inside, Facade walks the ropes and hits a kick to the head of Loco to get the 3.
WINNER: FACADE by pinfall.
3 impressive Rush Division talents all vying for a spot in the Rush Title hunt. Facade is also looking to tune up for a big match on Saturday against Dustin Jackson in the Kentucky Title Tournament.

"Picture Perfect"
Jordan Kage
 vs. KarDaniel "Demolition" Dunn.
Kage attacks Dunn and hits a "picture perfect" dropkick. He delivers a snap suplex, then elbow drops Dunn. He chokes him in the ropes and continues to just club Dunn. He kicks Dunn and goes up top. He hits a flying elbow drop. He doesn't go for the pin. He charges Dunn, and eats a back elbow. He charges him in the corner, and Dunn moves. Dunn fires up and splashes Kage in the corner. Dunn with a t-bone suplex. Dunn goes for another, but Kage claps his ears and hits a facebuster for the 3.
WINNER: KAGE by pinfall.
Can Kage ride this win into Saturday and topple the OVW Heavyweight Champion, Ca$h Flo, in the Kentucky Title Tournament?

"The Final Boss"
Bruce Wayans & "The Golden Bull" Jumbo Zamore
 vs. "The Tate Twins"Brandon & Brent.
Brent dropkicks Bruce into the corner and tags Brandon. Brandon splashes Bruce in the corner, Brent dropkicks Bruce's knee, then Brandon leaps off Brent's back and hits an elbow drop across Bruce's head. Jumbo causes a distraction that allows him & Bruce to take control for a brief moment. Brandon gets the hot tag to Brent. Brent dropkicks Bruce and knocks Jumbo off the apron. Brandon gets in and they hit a double eat de-feet and arm crossover takedown to Bruce. Brandon dives out on Jumbo as Brent picks up the 1-2-3.
WINNERS: TATES by pinfall.
After the match, the Tates say that Jessie Godderz & Tony Gunn are through babysitting their tag titles and they will take them back this Saturday at Defiance!

KENTUCKY HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT 1ST ROUND
: Brandon Espinosa (w/Perrin Johnson & Robbie Valentine) vs. Rush Champion Star Rider (w/Ramel Bradley & Lukasz Orbzut).
Espy tries a baseball slide, but Star moves. Quick pinfall attempts by Espy, but Star catches him with a dropkick. Espy grabs Star and slings him into the turnbuckle. Espy with a running cross body for 2. Star with some kicks, but Espy knocks him off the top rope, then superplexes him from the apron. Star comes back with a knee to the face that knocks Espy out of the ring. The ref tries to stop him from flying, but Star flies anyway over the ref and onto Espy. Back inside, he kicks Espy in the head and goes up top for the Five Star Frog Splash and the 3!
WINNER: STAR by pinfall.

2 OUT of 3 FALLS: "The Mayan Mauler" Drew Hernandez
 vs. Dustin Jackson.
Dustin comes out first and is attacked from behind on the ramp, with Drew throwing him face first into the ringpost. Drew rolls him in and covers for the 3.
WINNER of FALL #1: DREW by pinfall.
Drew charges Dustin in the corner and splashes him, just as he was getting back to his feet. Drew kicks Dustin and goes for the Mayan Apocalypse, but Dustin blocks it and rolls him up in a small package for the 3!
WINNER of FALL #2: DUSTIN by pinfall.
Drew charges Dustin again, but Dustin moves and rolls him up for 2. Dustin gets up and is met with a clothesline. Drew stomps him in the midsection and clubs and punishes Dustin. Drew kicks him in the ribs and locks in a sleeper. Drew drops an elbow. He smacks Dustin across the back. Drew with a suplex. He locks in the sleeper again. Dustin starts to fight out, but gets caught with a Samoan drop. Drew sets up in the corner for a shoulder tackle, but Dustin falls out of the ring. Drew goes out and rolls him in, but then turns his attention to a fan. Dustin gets up and leaps out on Drew! The ref starts to count with both men on the floor. Drew rolls back in at 6 and says to keep counting. Dustin gets in at 9. They exchange shots in the middle of the ring. Drew goes for the Apocalypse, but Dustin hits out. Off the ropes, he connects with the running boot to the face for the 3.
WINNER of FALL #3 and the MATCH: DUSTIN by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 2):
Steven Johnson & Bryan Kennison are on commentary, AJ McKay & Eric Cornish are the ring announcers.

KENTUCKY HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT 1ST ROUND
: Gustavo (w/Steve Romines) vs. "Rockstar" Ryan Howe (w/Drew Franklin).
Gustavo with a quick roll up for 2. Howe back with an atomic drop, uppercut, and rock 'n' roll fistdrop. Gustavo catches him with an enziguri on the top rope and covers for 2. Drew & Steve get into it on the outside. Gustavo catches Howe with a tornado DDT for 2. Gustavo goes up for a frog splash, but Howe gets the knees up. Howe with the neckbreaker drop for the 3.
WINNER: HOWE by pinfall.

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
"The Indian Lion" Mahabali Shera vs. "Superior" Tony Evans vs. AJ Cazana.
Evans dropkicks Shera. AJ charges at Shera, but Shera clotheslines him. He takes the fight to both Evans & AJ, catching Evans and throwing him onto AJ in the corner. Evans takes out Shera's knee from behind and they try to double team Shera, but Shera fires back with clotheslines and slams them. He delivers some backbreakers, then big boots AJ. Evans leaps off the top, but Shera grabs him by the throat and delivers a backbreaker. He hits AJ with the Sky High and gets the 3!
WINNER: SHERA by pinfall.

Reverend Ronnie Roberts is out for the Good Word.
Tony Gunn
 is tonight's special guest. Ronnie talks about Tony's issues with Kal Herro. Tony says Kal should not be here and the only reason he is, is because his daddy Dave Herro is good friends with Al Snow. Al is on the phone and says that Kal can make his own decisions and is an employee of OVW. Therefore, Tony cannot touch him and guarantees that even though Tony is a vet and tries to make rookies like Kal quit, Kal will not give up. He then tells Tony good luck in his match Saturday at Defiance when he & Jessie Godderz will defend the tag titles against the Tate Twins.

"The Demon"
 Lilith Grimm & Dani Mo vs. "Double A" Arie Alexander & Dream Girl Ellie.
Quick action. Arie & Ellie are in control, but Grimm breaks up a pin on Dani by using her skull mask. After the match, Grimm takes out all 3 women and stacks them up and poses over them.
WINNERS: ARIE & ELLIE by DQ.

KENTUCKY HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT 1ST ROUND
"Co-Star" Rex (w/Teddy Abrams & the Louisville Orchestra) vs. Shannon the Dude (w/Adam Revolver).
Adam continues to interfere, but Rex keeps taking him out. He hits a Big Ending on Adam, then scoops up STD. Tony Gunn runs out and kicks Rex below the belt while the ref is dealing with Teddy Abrams on the apron. STD falls on top of Rex and Gunn helps hold down Rex's feet and STD gets the 3!
WINNER: SHANNON by pinfall.

Ca$h Flo comes out to join commentary.
TEST of BRUTALITY
"Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) vs. Omar Amir.
Omar hits Hy in the corner and splashes him. Josh distarcts Omar and Hy sneaks in. Omar catches him and hits him. Josh trips Omar up off the ropes and Hy hits a backstabber. Hy with a kick to the head. Omar fires back, but Hy hits Omar in the eyes. He hits a super kick to Omar. He charges, but Omar back body drops him across the top rope. Back inside, Hy kicks him and dropkicks him in the head. Omar fires back, but Hy back with a super kick. Omar catches him with the spinebuster slam for the 3.
WINNER: OMAR by pinfall.
After the match, Big Zo & Steve Michaels come to the ring and Zo attacks Omar. He slams him and hits a Zo bomb, then the Legacy of Brutality stand over him to end the show.

This ended the TV taping.
