OVW TV 1137: A "Juicy" Betrayal

This is the OVW Report for Thursday, May 27, 2021.

Tonight, the Kentucky Heavyweight Title Tournament continues! Drew Hernandez faces D'mone Solavino, Jake Omen faces Brandon Tate, and Hy Zaya faces Atiba in first round matchups. Plus, the Women's Title is on the line as Haley J faces Arie Alexander, and much more!

PRE-SHOW:

Ms. Linda K is the ring announcer.

"Mr. Zero Gravity" AJ Daniels vs. Gaston LaRue.

They lock up. AJ takes LaRue down. Gaston works over the arm. AJ with a side headlock and shoulder block takedown off the ropes. LaRue with a drop toehold and AJ pokes him in the eye. He faceplants him and stomps him, then chokes him in the ropes. AJ locks in a sleeper. LaRue works out, but AJ connects with a dropkick. He fakes a 450 and locks the sleeper back in. LaRue fires up and misses a running boot. AJ connects with the Zero Gravity Kick for the 3.

WINNER: AJ by pinfall.

Will a change in attitude propel AJ back up the Rush Division rankings?

"Superior" Tony Evans vs. "The Mercenary" Garrisaon Creed.

They lock up and Evans takes Creed down with a side headlock. Creed comes back with a kick to the head and a brainbuster for 2. Evans goes after the leg of Creed and works it over. He locks in the ankle lock, but Creed grabs the ropes. Evans pulls him off the ropes and keeps it locked in and Creed is forced to tap.

WINNER: EVANS by submission.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):

Bryan Kennison & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, AJ McKay is the ring announcer.

Tony Gunn comes out and grabs a mic. He has had it up to here with OVW management and Kal Herro. Gunn invites Kal to the ring to face him man to man and get his fanny pack, jacket, and stupid boots back that he always loses in. Gunn says Al Snow is not here and can't save him, to get in the ring and get his stuff. Kal says unlike Gunn, he follows the rules. Al IS here and comes out to shut Gunn up. Gunn says he's here to hold Kal's hand. Al says Kal can use his foot to kick Gunn's ***. Al says Kal is an employee and Gunn can't wrestle him. Gunn says reinstate him. Al reinstates him and makes the match for right now! If Kal wins, he gets his stuff back.

"Shotgun" Tony Gunn vs. "The Fanny Pack Kid" Kal Herro.

Kal fires away on Gunn and hits a Lou Thesz press off the ropes and pounds Gunn. He covers for 2. He rolls Gunn up again for another 2. Gunn takes control and hits Kal in the corner. He tears his polo off and chops him, then sets him up top. Kal sunset flips over him and tries to powerbomb him, but Gunn holds on and hits him. Gunn leaps off the top for the flying knee, but Kal catches him with a super kick for 2. They exchange blows and Kal gets hit with some big clotheslines. Kal blocks a fourth one and rolls him up for the 3!

WINNER: HERRO by pinfall.

Dream Girl Ellie vs. Jody Threat vs. Dani Mo.

Jody goes after Ellie & Dani. Dani clotheslines Jody out and turns the fight to Ellie. She hits Ellie with a flying hurricanrana for 2. Jody comes in and hits Dani with a spike slam for 2. Ellie hits Jody with a facebuster for 2. Ellie arm drags Dani and shoulders her in the corner. Ellie with a hard kick to the back and a clothesline. Ellie chops her and sets her up top. Jody comes over and powerbombs Ellie as she superplexes Dani. Jody hits Ellie with an airplane spin/slam, but Dani has recovered and walks the top rope to hit Jody with a cross body for the 3.

WINNER: DANI by pinfall.

KENTUCKY HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT 1ST ROUND: "The Nephilim" D'mone Solavino (w/Jeff Ruby) vs. "The Mayan Mauler" Drew Hernandez (w/Amanda Lemond).

D'mone goes right after Drew, but Drew takes him down with a big boot. He then hits a big shoulder tackle, knocking D'mone from the ring. Back inside, D'mone comes back with a dropkick off the ropes. D'mone goes for the Locked in Purgatory submission, but Lemond has his wings on the outside, distracting him. D'mone turns around into a big spinebuster from Drew, then Drew hits the Mayan Apocalypse for the 3!

WINNER: DREW by pinfall.

Brandon Espinosa vs. "The Neon Ninja" Facade.

Espy attacks Facade with clubbing blows in the corner. Facade tries to come back with some kicks and chops, but Espy goes back on the attack. He headbutts Facade and goes for a suplex, but Facde gets out. Espy catches him with a clothesline that turns him inside out. Espy covers for 2. Facade fires back and hits an atomic drop and an inverted atomic drop. Facade catches Espy with a kick after Espy rolls out. He rolls Espy in, but Espy rolls out again. Facade goes up top and hits a flipping dive. Back inside, Espy catches Facade with a kick to the head as Facade looks to go up. Facade knocks him away and hits a boot to the face off the top rope. AJ Daniels comes to the ring and squares up with Facade, but then turns and clocks Espy to cause a DQ.

WINNER: ESPINOSA by DQ.

Ca$h Flo comes out to join commentary.

TEST of BRUTALITY: Steve Michaels (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) vs. Omar Amir.

Steve goes after Omar. Omar back with some dropkicks and forearms. He goes off the ropes, but Josh pulls the top rope down. Josh argues with the ref while Steve splashes Omar against the ringpost. Back inside, Steve clubs him and stands on Omar's back. He locks in the Chicago Bearhug. Omar gets out and avoids a splash in the corner. Omar runs in with a splash and leaps off the top. Steve grabs him by the throat and goes for a chokeslam, but Omar slides out. He picks Steve up and hits the spinebuster slam for the 3!

WINNER: OMAR by pinfall.

After the match, Omar wants his rematch. Ca$h says that wasn't his trial of brutality. His trial of brutality will be going through all 3 of his guys during the same night. Then, if he somehow wins, he can pick the stipulation and get his rematch!

OVW TV (HOUR 2):

Shannon the Dude & Bryan Kennison are on commentary, AJ McKay is the ring announcer.

KENTUCKY HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT 1ST ROUND: "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya (w/Charles Booker) vs. "The Rocky Mountain Dragon" Atiba (w/Tony Vanetti).

Quick back and forth early. Hy catches Atiba with a backstabber. Atiba comes back with a kick to the back of the head for 2. Off the ropes, Hy connects with the leg lariat and goes up top. He hits the Ninja Vanish for the 3.

WINNER: HY ZAYA by pinfall.

Reverend Ronnie Roberts is out for the Good Word.

Luscious Lawrence is tonight's special guest. Ronnie asks what's up between him and Haley J after he had Kindly Myers in his corner last Saturday. Ronnie says he heard Luscious was upset that Haley was doing better than him. Tony Bizo appears on the screen and mentions their match tonight and gets interrupted by Haley. Haley says he had a blonde bimbo, but let's see how he does tonight without anyone in his corner.

WOMEN'S TITLE MATCH: "Double A" Arie Alexander vs. "Hollyhood" Haley J (c).

They lock up into the corner and Haley shoves Arie in the face. Arie runs out and rolls her up for 2. Arie hits her in the corner, then snapmares her and kicks her in the chest. Haley pulls Arie into the corner turnbuckle, then kicks her. She hits two snap suplexes, but Arie rolls her up in a small package for 2. Haley regains control and locks in a sleeper. Arie starts to fire back, but gets pulled down by her hair. Haley stomps her in the midsection. Arie comes back with a German suplex and takes control. Haley grabs the title, but Arie rips it away. As the ref takes the title from Arie, Haley takes her sock of rocks .

WINNER and STILL WOMEN'S CHAMPION: HALEY by pinfall.

KENTUCKY HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT 1ST ROUND: Jake Omen (w/JD Shelburne) vs. "The Fanny Pack Kid" Kal Herro (w/Maria Montgomery).

Jake with the early control. He hits a suplex and big knee drop. He locks in a sleeper and as Kal works up, knees him in the midsection. Kal fires back and clotheslines Jake as Tony Gunn comes out to the ring. Gunn shoves JD down and takes his guitar. Maria pulls it away from Gunn, then Kal baseball slides him off the apron. Jake grabs him for his finisher, but Kal slides out and hits a knee to the face for the 3!

WINNER: HERRO by pinfall.

"The Complete Package" Tony Bizo (w/Dr. Ricky Jones) vs. "Mr. Juicy" Luscious Lawrence.

Luscious makes a dash in the ring and fires away on Bizo. He slams him and butt butts him in the corner. He goes for the stinkface, but Bizo pushes him away and delivers a release spinebuster. He uppercuts Luscious in the corner, snapmares him out, then kicks him in the back of the head. He chokes Luscious in the ropes and clubs him across the back of the head. Bizo with a big slam for 2. Bizo continues to club him across the back. Luscious slaps him and slams him. Bizo rolls out to the apron. Luscious butts him off the apron to the ramp. They fight on the outside. Bizo on the attack back inside. He tries a couple pin attempts for 2's. Bizo with the Bizo Bottom. Bizo poses instead of covering. He finally does, but Luscious kicks out at 2. Bizo chops him in the corner, but Luscious begins to fire up. Bizo back with some hard shots and catches Luscious with a knee to the midsection off the ropes. He covers for 2 as Luscious gets the shoulder up. Luscious elbows back and clotheslines Bizo. He hits the giant swing and delivers the stinkface. Luscious hits the One Night Stand, but Jones gets on the apron. Haley J comes out and offers a stuffed animal and box of chocolates to Luscious. They hug on the apron, but Haley clocks him with the sock of rocks. Bizo crawls over for the cover and the 3.

WINNER: BIZO by pinfall.

This ended the TV taping.

POST-SHOW DARK MATCH:

RUSH TITLE MATCH: Espiritu Maya vs. Blanco Loco vs. Star Rider (c).

Lots of high flying, fast paced action early. Some hurricanranas from Maya to Loco, and Star to Maya. Loco uses Star as a battering ram into Maya. All 3 fight in the corner with Loco powerbombing Maya, who was hitting a fall away slam from the top on Star. Loco hits a cutter on Star for 2. Loco drives Maya into the mat, but Star flies off the top with the Five Star Frog Splash on Loco for the 3.

WINNER and STILL RUSH CHAMPION: STAR by pinfall.
