OVW TV 1150: Rockin' 'Round to Reckoning

This is the OVW Report for Thursday, August 26, 2021.

Tonight, the Kentucky Title Tournament continues with quarterfinal matches featuring Hy Zaya vs. Reverend Ronnie Roberts and Tony Bizo vs. Drew Hernandez, Facade is in action against Koda Jacobs, the women of OVW are in action as Dream Girl Ellie meets up with Skylar Orion in a rematch from last week and Charlie Kruel faces Arie Alexander, a 6-man scramble featuring some of the competitors in the 6-team tag title ladder match, plus much more!

PRE-SHOW:
Linda Kay & Eric Cornish are the ring announcers.

"The Iron Bear"
 Tom Coffey vs. Brandon Tate
.
Tate tries some kicks and locks Tom up from behind, but Tom just slings him off. Tom throws Tate to the corner. Tate leaps over a charge, but tries an arm drag to no avail. Tom picks him up by the hair and squashes him in the corner. Tom continues to control with the clear size advantage. He splashes Tate in the corner, then stands on his back in the ropes. Tate tries to pick up steam, but Tom stomps him and throws him hard into the corner. Tom catches Tate off the ropes with a slam. He mocks the "Hey, Ho" elbow drop, but misses. Tate with an eat de-feet and the 3!
WINNER: TATE by pinfall.

"Co-Star"
 Rex vs. 
Steve Michaels (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft).
They lock up to a stalemate. They go again, and Steve shoves Rex backward. Rex comes back in with a forearm, Steve returns fire. They continue exchanging shots, then try taking each other down with shoulder blocks and clotheslines. Steve clubs Rex across the back, but Rex knees Steve in the midsection. He charges, but Steve with a back elbow. Steve clubs him across the back again. He goes for a big right, but Rex catches him with a big belly-to-belly suplex for the 3.
WINNER: REX by pinfall.

Movie Myke vs. 
"The Fanny Pack Kid" Kal Herro.
Myke with some early offense, but he goes for a slo-mo elbow drop and misses. Kal fires back with some jabs and a bionic elbow. He takes him down with a shoulder tackle, then finishes him off and gets the 1-2-3.
WINNER: KAL by pinfall.
After the match, Dark Kloudz attacks Kal from behind, but Dustin Jackson runs out with a ladder and runs them off.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):
Bryan Kennison & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish & Linda Kay are the ring announcers.

NON-TITLE MATCH: Blanco Loco vs. Rush Champion Gustavo.
Quick offense early. Gustavo with a kick. Loco comes back and gets Gustavo wrapped up in the ropes where he chops him. Gustavo fights back and goes for his finisher, but Loco had it scouted and blocked it. He kicks Gustavo in the head and goes for a move in the ropes, but Gustavo arm drags him. He locks him up in an abdominal stretch and Loco is forced to tap.
WINNER: GUSTAVO by submission.

We see Haley J out on work release, having to mop the floors of Davis Arena.

"The Purple Haired Maniac"
 Charlie Kruel vs. Arie Alexander
.
Kruel offers up a pop tart, but Arie smacks it out of her hand. Kruel takes her down and rides her like a horse. Arie raises her up and rams her into the corner. She snapmares her and kicks her in the face. Arie with a snap suplex, then a German suplex. Arie locks her in a Dragon sleeper, but Kruel fights out and hits a codebreaker. She charges with a double knee in the corner, but Arie moves. Arie fires back in the middle of the ring and spikes her with a DDT for the 3.
WINNER: ARIE by pinfall.

We see another video of Haley J out on work release, having to clean the restrooms of Davis Arena.

"The Candidate for a Brighter Future in Wrestling"
 Koda Jacobs vs. "The Neon Ninja" Facade.
Facade goes after Koda and chops him in the corner. He pulls him by his tie to another corner, where he hits him, then kicks him in the chest. Facade with a kick off the ropes. He grabs the strap, but as the ref takes it away, Koda rakes Facde's eyes. He controls briefly, but Facade kicks him out of the ring. He dives out on him and rolls him back in. He walks the ropes and hits the boot to the face to get the 3.
WINNER: FACADE by pinfall.
After the match, Facade grabs a mic and says AJ Daniels has tried to embarrass him, but this Saturday, he's going to beat him like his momma should have!

Skylar Orion vs. Dream Girl Ellie.
Orion shoves Ellie down. Ellie rushes up and grabs her and shoulders her into the corner. She kicks her in the face, snapmares her, then clotheslines her. Some back and forth action, but Orion starts to gain the upperhand. She hits a headscissors into the mat for 2. Orion locks her up in a submission and turns it over into a pinfall for the 3!
WINNER: ORION by pinfall.

We see another video of Haley J. She's picking up trash outside the Davis Arena. Tony Bizo is sitting in a car nearby throwing trash out the window, hitting Haley in the head with some.

6-MAN SCRAMBLE (Winner's partner gets to enter first into Saturday's ladder match): Brandon Espinosa vs. "Hollywood" Adam Swayze
 vs. Dustin Jackson vs. Big Zo (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) vs. "Elusive" Eric Darkstorm vs. Brent Tate.
A lot of quick action early, then Dustin dropkicks everyone except Brent. Brent gets in and rolls him up for a quick 2. More quick action as one man goes out, another can enter in their place. Dives to the outside, a big corner spot, multiple finishers and pin attempts, but Espy faceplants Brent and goes for the brainbuster. Brent rolls him up in the inside cradle for the 3.
WINNER: TATE by pinfall.
After the match, all 12 competitors end up at ringside and in the ring in an all-out brawl! The Tates get up in opposite corners and dive out onto their 10 opponents this Saturday!

OVW TV (HOUR 2):
Bryan Kennison & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

Ryan Howe is in the ring playing his guitar to start the show. Jessie Godderz & Omar Amir each come out and go after him, but then pull each other out of the ring to try and get to Howe first. Howe sneaks away as they chase him out of the building.

KENTUCKY TITLE TOURNAMENT: "The Complete Package" Tony Bizo (w/Dr. Ricky Jones)
 vs.
 "The Mayan Mauler" Drew Hernandez.
They jaw and Bizo hits Drew in the throat. He charges Drew in the corner, but runs into a boot. Drew drops him and kicks him in the back. He drops an elbow. He sets up in the 3 point stance, but Jones grabs his foot. Drew chases him in the ring, but runs into a clothesline from Bizo for 2. Drew comes back and pounds away on Bizo on the mat. Drew with a big shoulder block. He goes for the Mayan Apocalypse, but Bizo blocks it and rakes Drew's eyes. Bizo pulls Drew down across the top rope and leaps in for a sunset flip. Drew stays up and drops across Bizo. He holds the ropes for leverage, but Jones hits him off and Bizo rolls him over for the 3!
WINNER and advancing to the FINAL FOUR: BIZO by pinfall.

Bryan Kennison
is in the ring and brings out Dani Mo & Sierra. Dani says she didn't accept the Women's Title, because she wants to be a role model and show that hard work pays off. Sierra laughs and says she has been winning, been in main events, but then gets passed over for a #1 contender shot on a week she wasn't here. How convenient. They start taking shoes off and look ready to throw down, but Bryan tells them to wait until Saturday.

Damian Chambers vs. "The End of the World" Jake Omen.
Omen with a quick start. He pounds away on Damian and suplexes him. Damian back with an enziguri and rock bottom for 2. Jake comes back and nails a super kick, then finishes him off with a shining wizard for the 3.
WINNER: OMEN by pinfall.

In the back, we see that Omar Amir has found Ryan Howe and is pounding away on him. Jessie Godderz shows up as well and the 3 fight in the back.


KENTUCKY TITLE TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL: "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya (w/Aaron McGahee)
vs.
 Reverend Ronnie Roberts (w/Jessica Snow).
Hy with several quick strike attempts, but Ronnie dodges them. Hy takes Ronnie down and hits the quick punches. In the corner, Hy runs in with a double knee. He takes Ronnie down with the leg lariat, then goes up for the Ninja Vanish. Ronnie moves and Hy rolls through, but runs into a knee to the face from Ronnie. Josh Ashcraft comes out to ringside and distracts Jessica. With Josh, Aaron, & Jessica all arguing, Josh accidentally trips up Hy. Ronnie rolls him up for the 3!
WINNER: RONNIE by pinfall.
Ca$h Flo (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) & "Shotgun" Tony Gunn vs. "Mr. Juicy" Luscious Lawrence & "The Indian Lion" Mahabali Shera.
Shera is starting, and neither Ca$h nor Gunn want to get in. Ca$h jumps off the apron to avoid being tagged in by Gunn. Gunn tries to duck and move quickly and get some shots in. Shera tags Luscious in, and now Ca$h wants in. Luscious fires on him and goes for the Rump Thumper, but Ca$h gets out and pulls Luscious out. Back inside, Luscious gets his hair pulled by Gunn from the apron. Ca$h goes to drop on him, but Luscious moves and kicks him in the head. Gunn tags in, but Luscious takes him down. He hits a powerslam and the Luscious Legdrop. Gunn rolls out and Ca$h comes in, but Luscious kicks him and throws him to the outside. He tags Shera in and they work over Ca$h. Ca$h regains control against Luscious and with Gunn, they keep Luscious away from his corner so he can't tag Shera. Ca$h gets some big chops in and mocks Luscious. Luscious rolls him up for 2, then Ca$h locks him in a submission. Luscious tries to butt his way out, then powerslams Ca$h. They are both down, and both looking to recover for the tag. Shera & Gunn are both tagged, and Shera fires away on both Ca$h & Gunn. He clotheslines Gunn, then chokeslams him across his knee for a backbreaker. He covers, but Josh has the ref distracted. Ca$h backhands the ref as the fight continues in the ring. All 4 men are in. The ropes are hit as Shera & Ca$h were up top and they crash down. Jessie Godderz, Ryan Howe, & Omar Amir all fight down to ringside and into the ring. After they leave, Shera is face to face with Ca$h. Gunn gets in with a steel chair and hits Shera across the ack, but it doesn't faze him. Gunn comes back and low blows him, and Ca$h hits him down. Luscious is back in to try and help, but Ca$h & Gunn stand tall to end it.
WINNERS: SHERA & LUSCIOUS by DQ.

This ended the TV taping.
