OVW TV 1156: Happy Anniversary Jessie!

This is the OVW Report for Thursday, October 7, 2021.

Tonight, the women of OVW are on full display as Skylar Orion meets Harley Fairfax, Arie Alexander goes up against Freya the Slaya, and Haley J goes 1-on-1 with GLAM! The tag team division has been fired up, and we will see two teams in action as the Fanny Pack Party goes against the Box Office Blonds! Plus, Al Snow will address the Heavyweight Title vacancy, Jessie Godderz celebrates one year as the National Champion, and much more!

PRE-SHOW:
Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

The Wanderer & Donovan "Bam Bam" Cecil vs. "The Recusants": Brandon Espinosa & "Iron Bear" Tom Coffey
.
Espy tells Wanderer to join them. Wanderer turns his back and Espy attacks him from behind. He runs him into the corner and tags Tom. Tom with a hard takedown and a tag back to Espy. Cecil tags in and Espy hits him with a dropkick and an uppercut in the corner. He holds him for Tom. Tom clubs him and tags Espy back in. Espy locks in a submission, but Cecil is able to work his way up and slam Espy off. Both make tags and the Wanderer hits Espy with a sidewalk slam, then headbutts Tom. Wanderer looks to be setting up for a big clothesline, but Tom pushes Espy out of harm's way, lifts Wanderer up, and then Espy connects with a neckbreaker drop for the 3.
WINNERS: RECUSANTS by pinfall.

"Flawless"
 Jake Lawless vs. ZDP.
ZDP with some quick arm drags and dropkicks. He goes to dive out on Jake, but Jake clubs him in the face. He hits an x-factor on ZDP for 2. Jake hits him in the corner, but misses a charge. ZDP with an uppercut, but Jake attacks the left arm. He works it over and tries to cover, but ZDP kicks out. They exchange kicks, but ZDP catches him with an atomic drop as he comes off the top. ZDP fires up, but Jake catches him with a Crossroads for the 3.
WINNER: LAWLESS by pinfall.

Big Zo (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft
 & Steve Michaels) vs. Dapper Dan.
They lock up all around the ring. Dan with a hip toss. Zo comes back with the cartwheel butt bump and back elbows in the corner. Zo locks him in a submission, but Dan with a backdrop. Dan goes for the Death Valley Driver, but can't get him up. Zo splashes him in the corner, then goes up for the Zo Bomb. Dan grabs him, but Josh distracts the ref and Steve hits Dan from the outside. Zo hits the Zo Bomb and gets the 3.
WINNER: ZO by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):
Bryan Kennison & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

"The Black Widow"
 Harley Fairfax vs. Skylar Orion
.
Orion with a quick start. She hits an inverted atomic drop, followed by a dropkick. She then hits a running cross body. Harley comes back with a hard takedown and slings Orion across the ring. She hits her in the corner. Off the ropes, she nails a big sidewalk slam. Orion slides out of Harley's grip and clubs her in the back, but that only angers her. Harley hits a big spinebuster off the ropes, then hits a suplex into a submission for the tapout.
WINNER: HARLEY by submission.

NON-TITLE MATCH: 
"Viva Las Amish": Hezekiah Hoskins & Danny Vegas (w/Betsy the Chicken) vs. OVW Tag Team Champions "Dark Kloudz": "Elusive" Eric Darkstorm & "Hustler" Deget Bundlez.
Dark Kloudz with quick tags against Vegas. The Fanny Pack Party comes out to watch on the ramp. Vegas gets a hard chop and the bombs away from Deget. Hoskins gets tagged and worked over for a bit until making a hot tag back to Vegas. Deget with a slingblade. Vegas comes back and splashes Deget in the corner, then Hoskins leaps off his back. Deget catches Hoskins and slams him on Vegas's back. Deget & Eric then hit a double team spinning cutter for the 3.
WINNERS: DARK KLOUDZ by pinfall.

"Hood Ninja"
 Hy Zaya vs. Brandon Espinosa (w/"Iron Bear" Tom Coffey).
They lock up and Hy takes him down off the ropes and pounds away. Espy rolls out. Hy dropkicks Tom through the ropes, then leaps out on him. He hits Espy and rolls him in. Tom pulls Hy off the apron and backdrops him on the side of the ring. Espy pounds Hy back inside and tries to cover for 2. Hy comes back with some arm drags and a dropkick. He monkey flips him, then hits the leg lariat, but Tom gets in and attacks Hy. They hit a double team move on him, when Tony Gunn runs out. Tony lays out the Recusants, then the Legacy of Brutality runs out.
They surround Hy, but Tony gets in the ring with a chair and the L.O.B. retreats. Tony throws the chair down and offers a handshake to Hy, but Hy leaves the ring.
WINNER: HY by DQ.

"The Rhinestone Cowgirl"
 GLAM vs. "Hollyhood" Haley J (w/Tony Bizo).
GLAM with a takedown. Haley locks her up from behind. GLAM with a bomb, but Haley kicks out. GLAM chagres her, but Haley drop toeholds her into the turnbuckle. Bizo is yelling at Haley on the outside. GLAM with some big hits and chops. Haley blocks a haymaker and drops GLAM for 2. Bizo is now on the apron yelling at Haley. GLAM runs Haley into Bizo, knocking him off the apron, then rolls her up for the 3!
WINNER: GLAM by pinfall.

"The Box Office Blonds"
"Hollywood" Adam Swayze & Big Rex vs. 
"The Fanny Pack Party": 
Dustin Jackson & "The Fanny Pack Kid" Kal Herro.
Quick tags by FPP as they keep Adam near their corner. They work over his arm. Rex causes a distraction that gets the ref to make Kal get back in his corner. Rex then kicks Dustin in the back and gets the tag from Adam. He uppercuts Dustin in the corner and makes some quick tags with Adam. Rex hits Dustin with a big slam, then Adam tags in and goes for one. Dustin slides out and tags Kal. They hit Adam with a double team knee to the face and running boot, but Rex breaks the pin at 2, squashing Dustin and his own partner. Kal pulls down the top rope as Rex charges him and Rex flies out. Kal follows him, but Dark Kloudz comes out and throws Rex and Kal into the ringposts. They get in and hit Dustin with the spinning cutter and stand tall over him.
NO CONTEST.

Al Snow
comes out to talk about the history of the OVW Heavyweight Title. He says several well-known superstars like Batista, John Cena, & CM Punk have held this title. He was sorry Omar Amir had to relinquish the title, but he is sure he will be back better and stronger than ever. Before he can continue, he is interrupted by the unlovely sounds of Ryan Howe and his guitar. Ryan says he should be the new Heavyweight Champion. He is interrupted by Reverend Ronnie Roberts, Ca$h Flo, Gustavo. Tony Bizo, Luscious Lawrence, then the entire locker room empties. Al says he has always been about opportunity. He says they will have a mini-rumble in 2 weeks to crown a new Heavyweight Champion!

OVW TV (HOUR 2):
Bryan Kennison & Steven Johnson are on commentary, Eric Cornish & Linda Kay are the ring announcers.

"The Candidate for a Brighter Future in Wrestling"
 Koda Jacobs vs. Reverend Ronnie Roberts.
Koda attacks Ronnie and locks in a side headlock. Ronnie fires back with an uppercut and splashes him in the corner. He hits the legdrop, then lays the Right Hand on him for the 3.
WINNER: RONNIE by pinfall.
After the match, Ronnie says he was bamboozled last week. He didn't win, but that sets him up to be in the mini-rumble to win the vacated Heavyweight Title. He doesn't care who he has to throw out of the ring. He will take them all out and become the new Heavyweight Champion!

"Double A"
Arie Alexander vs. "The Queen of the North" Freya the Slaya.
Arie looks for some quick offense out of the gate, but doesn't faze Freya. Freya hangs her up in the tree of woe. Arie leaps at her, but Freya catches her and takes her down hard. Freya gets the 3 following a spinaround slam. 
WINNER: FREYA by pinfall.

NON-TITLE MATCH: "The Mercenary" Garrisaon Creed vs. Kentucky Heavyweight Champion "Mr. Juicy" Luscious Lawrence.
Luscious with a butt bump, slam, and splash. He then butt butts him in the corner. He delivers a Rump Thumper to Creed. Creed comes back firing and headbutts him, but Luscious comes back and takes Creed down. He hits him with the One Night Stand and gets the 3.
WINNER: LUSCIOUS by pinfall.
After the match, Tony Bizo attacks Luscious from behind on the ramp with a chair.

Gustavo comes out and says he promised a match against Star Rider. They built the Rush Division and he's calling him out right now!
RUSH TITLE MATCH: "The Star of the Show" Star Rider vs. Gustavo (c).
Star & Gustavo lock up. In the corner, Gustavo gives Star a little smack on the chest and shakes on his way out. Star does the same back to Gustavo. Several quick exchanges. Gustavo with some quick moves and a 1 count. He chops Star in the corner. Star comes back with a chop of his own. He kicks Gustavo in the leg. Gustavo back with some hard forearms. Gustavo avoids a charge and dropkicks Gustavo. He covers for 2. He locks up Gustavo's arm. He snapmares him and hits a big elbow drop for 2. Gustavo fires back, but Star with a big clothesline for 2. Star runs into a boot. Gustavo runs in and gets flipped to the apron. Star with a kick to the head, then he dives out on Gustavo. They continue fighting around ringside. Gustavo starts to charge back up and hits a faceplant for 2. Star catches Gustavo with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for 2. They exchange shots in the middle of the ring. They exchange enziguris. They both go for a cross body and crash into each other. Star goes for a curb stomp, but Gustavo avoids it and drives Star head first into the mat. Star rolls out of the ring to recover. Gustavo follows him out and hits him on the outside. As Gustavo gets back in, Star hits the curb stomp, but Gustavo somehow kicks out at 2! Star goes after Gustavo, but gets his leg hung up in the ropes. Gustavo takes him down and covers for 2. Gustavo charges and is flipped to the apron. He kicks Star, but runs into a kick. Star with a shining wizard for 2. He tries a brainbuster for 2. Gustavo asks for more and Star takes him down. He goes up top and connects with the Five Star Frog Splash, but on 2, Gustavo rolls him over for the 3!
WINNER and STILL RUSH CHAMPION: GUSTAVO by pinfall.

It's time for the 1-Year Anniversary celebration of
Jessie Godderz and his National Heavyweight Title win. Jessie says there is literally nothing and nobody that could take this moment away from him. Nick Dinsmore interrupts him and says he will be back home in Louisville at the Davis Arena on October 30 to face him for the title. Jessie gets upset and starts popping balloons and yelling!

This ended the TV taping.
