OVW TV 1159: Luscious New Contender!

This is the OVW Report for Thursday, October 28, 2021.
 
Tonight, the Nightmare Cup begins as the Fanny Pack Party faces the Outrunners, Level X faces the Recusants, and the team of Star Rider & Rush Champion Gustavo face Southern Discomfort! Plus, OVW Women's Champion Sierra returns for action, Jackson Stone goes 1-on-1 with Jake Lawless, and
 much more!

PRE-SHOW:
AJ McKay is the ring announcer.

Johnny "Dark" Suede vs. "The Mercenary" Garrisaon Creed
.
Creed takes Suede down early and drops an elbow for 2. Suede knees him and chokes him in the ropes. Creed comes back with a snap suplex and headbutts him for 2. A reversal of a throw to the corner and Suede splashes Creed. He locks in a sleeper, but Creed works his way up and takes Suede down. He connects with a Death Valley Driver for the 3.
WINNER: CREED by pinfall.

"The Veteran"
 Jack Vaughn vs. "A1 Since Day 1" ZDP.
ZDP tries some quick offense, but Jack comes back and throws him in the corner, choking him with his boot. He hits him to another corner and chokes him with the boot again. He delivers an airplane spin and a bionic elbow. ZDP flips over Jack and kicks his knee and kicks him in the face, but Jack grabs him by the trunks and clubs him across the back. Jack kicks at him and hits him, then delivers a long-standing vertical suplex. Jack throws him into the corner and charges, but ZDP moves to the apron and delivers 2 kicks to the head. He goes up top and leaps off. Jack charges in, but ZDP leaps over him. Jack turns around and catches ZDP with a spinebuster, then connects with the hard lariat for the 3. 
WINNER: VAUGHN by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):
Bryan Kennison & Steven Johnson are on commentary, Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

Jessie Godderz comes out and tells Nick Dinsmore that he keeps interrupting his matches, but he is kerfuffled, befuddled, bamboozled, at the fact that Nick isn't what he once was. He dares anyone to come out, he dares Nick to send someone out. AJ Daniels comes out and says Jessie is not the only one who got cheated last week. Jessie attacks him and we have a match...
NON-TITLE MATCH: National Champion "Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz vs. "Mr. Zero Gravity" AJ Daniels.
Jessie chokes him with a shirt and throws AJ to the corner. AJ flips to the apron and kicks him in the head. Jessie knocks him to the floor and catapults him under the bottom rope once back inside. AJ with a kick back, but Jessie locks him up in the abdominal stretch. AJ gets free and runs off the ropes, but Jessie spears him for the 3. 
WINNER: GODDERZ by pinfall.
After the match, Jessie tells Nick that he will never wrestle or train again after he returns to Louisville to face him. He says he is the face that runs the place and the face that is going to break him. Nick will find out at Apocalypse why he is the champion. He dares him to send someone else out.

"Flawless"
 Jake Lawless vs. "The Suplex Shogun" Jackson Stone.
Stone takes the fight to Jake. He knocks him down and chases him outside and back in the ring where he hits a hard clothesline. Jake comes back with a kick to the knee and an elbow across the back of the head for 1. Stone comes back with a t-bone suplex and a backdrop. He clotheslines him off the ropes and then hits a release overhead suplex. He charges Jake in the corner, but Jake moves, rolls him up, and puts his feet on the ropes to get the 3. 
WINNER: LAWLESS by pinfall.

Charlie Kruel vs. "The Daughter of 10,000 Maniacs" Shawna Reed vs. "The Queen of the North" Freya the Slaya.
Kruel & Reed both go after Freya, but she hammers them down. They hit her in the corner and try to double team her, but Freya catches Kruel as she leaps off Reed's back and slams her on top of Reed. She grabs Reed and battering rams her into Kruel in the corner, then hangs her in the tree of woe over Kruel. She runs in and double cannonballs them. She boots Reed out of the ring, then delivers a chokeslam to Kruel for the 3. 
WINNER: FREYA by pinfall.

Reverend Ronnie Roberts is out for another edition of the Good Word. Tonight's special guest is Hy Zaya. Ronnie says he has noticed an issue between him and Tony Gunn the last few weeks. Ronnie says Gunn has had Hy's back and wants to embrace him and shake his hand, but Hy seems reluctant.
Before he can say anything, Gunn comes out. He says Hy was in the line of fire and he hit him with a chair. He wants to bury the hatchet and shake his hand. Hy doesn't do it. Gunn says eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, chair for a chair, let's do this the hard way then. He asks Hy to hit him with the chair and get it over with. Hy throws the chair down and puts out his hand. Gunn shakes and Ronnie shouts hallelujah!

NON-TITLE MATCH: Dream Girl Ellie vs. Women's Champion Sierra.
Sierra plows Ellie down. Ellie shoves Sierra and takes her down. She kicks her in the face. Sierra comes back and throws Ellie to the corner. She runs in with a double knee and covers for 2. Sierra back with the power advantage, but Ellie jumps on her back. Sierra takes her down and connects with the chinbuster off her back for the 3. 
WINNER: SIERRA by pinfall.
After the match, Freya the Slaya makes her presence known on the ramp, and looks to be gunning for Sierra and the Women's Title.

Big Zo (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) vs. "The Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya.
Hy goes after Zo and knocks him to the outside. Hy flies out on top of him, then chases Josh around the ring. He ducks a clothesline from Zo, but Zo grabs him and slams him on the apron. Inside, Zo throws him to the corner and hits the cartwheel butt bump and back elbows. He sets Hy on the top rope, but Hy hits him away and sets him up for Ninja Vanish. Josh gets on the apron with a chair and shoves Hy off. 
WINNER: HY by DQ.
Josh puts the chair around Hy's neck and Zo goes up for a Zo bomb, but
Tony Gunn runs out and hits Zo with a chair to make the save.

OVW TV (HOUR 2):
Bryan Kennison & Steven Johnson are on commentary, Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

Ryan Howe is out for a victory concert as the new Heavyweight Champion. Before he can play, Luscious Lawrence comes out and says he should be "Juicy 2 Belts". Tony Bizo interrupts and says he got cheated again, because he wasn't thrown over the top rope, he was hit over. Bryan Kennison interrupts them and says they will fight in a triple threat tonight. If Luscious or Bizo win, they will get a title shot against Ryan Howe at Apocalypse. If Howe wins, he will get the rock concert of his dreams and can play all night long at Apocalypse.

NIGHTMARE CUP FIRST ROUND: "The Recusants": Brandon Espinosa & "The Iron Bear" Tom Coffey vs. "Level X": Blanco Loco & "Unforgettable" Axton Ray.
Ray with a reverse hip toss to Espy, then tags Loco. He rams Espy in the corner and holds him for Loco to run in with an uppercut. Quick offense, even against Tom as he gets tagged in. Espy kicks Loco off the ropes, and things go downhill from there for Level X. Loco is double teamed in the Recusants' corner, but gets free to tag Ray. Ray with some quick offense, then Level X dives out on the Recusants. Loco takes Espy out, but Tom catches Ray and rams him into the apron. Loco gets back in with Tom, but Tom rolls him up with Espy helping the pin for the 3. 
WINNERS: RECUSANTS by pinfall.

NIGHTMARE CUP FIRST ROUND: "Southern Discomfort": Snake Williams Jr. & Jebidiah Blackhawk vs. "The Star of the Show" Star Rider & Rush Champion Gustavo.
Star & Gustavo with quick offense early to keep Southern Discomfort off balance. Jeb & Snake come back and use their size advantage to take control. Jeb suplexes Gustavo, then catches Star off the top and throws him into Gustavo on the apron. He chokeslams him and gets the 3. 
WINNERS: DISCOMFORT by pinfall.
After the match, Star & Gustavo shove each other and argue. We see them argue in the back and Star challenges Gustavo for a match for the Rush Title Saturday at Apocalypse.

NIGHTMARE CUP FIRST ROUND: "The Box Office Blonds": "Hollywood" Adam Swayze & "Co-Star" Rex vs. "Big Money" Dimes & Ca$h Flo (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft).
Ca$h & Rex start out after Dimes tries to tag himself in. Rex actually gets the better of Ca$h at first, taking him down with some clotheslines. They exchange some chops. Dimes tags in and tries to slam Rex, then tags right back out when he can't. Rex tags out to Adam, and Adam gets chopped in the corner by Dimes, then Ca$h when the ref's back is turned. Ca$h slams Rex, then clotheslines him out. He slams Adam, hits the Payload, then Dimes tags himself back in. Dimes hits a tadpole splash of his own and gets the 3. 
WINNERS: DIMES & CA$H by pinfall.

NIGHTMARE CUP FIRST ROUND: "The Outrunners": Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd vs. "The Fanny Pack Party": Dustin Jackson & "The Fanny Pack Kid" Kal Herro.
A quick start by the FPP. The Outrunners try to cheat and take control by pulling down ropes and faking being hit. Kal returns the favor and acts like he got hit by Floyd, who wasn't legal. Truth tries to sneak attack Kal, but Kal hits him with a knee to the face, then Dustin is loaded up with the running boot to get the 3. 
WINNERS: FPP by pinfall.

"The Complete Package"
 Tony Bizo (w/Ricky Jones) vs. Kentucky Champion "Mr. Juicy" Luscious Lawrence vs. Heavyweight Champion Ryan Howe.
Howe & Bizo double team Luscious, then shove each other to hit him. Howe tries a quick rollup on Bizo for 2. Bizo locks Luscious in a sharpshooter. Howe hits Bizo with a sliding uppercut. Bizo & Howe trade blows while Luscious rolls out to the apron and climbs to the top. He hits a double-double axehandle to Bizo & Howe. Luscious slams Howe and butt bumps them both. He knocks Howe to the outside, then hits the One Night Stand on Bizo for the 3. 
WINNER: LUSCIOUS by pinfall.

This ended the TV taping.
