OVW TV 1188: Pecs & Gunns Are All Smiles!


This is the OVW Report for Thursday, May 19, 2022.

TONIGHT:
-Women's action will see the #1 contender Haley J face Olivia Devine, as well as former Women's Champion Freya the Slaya going 1-on-1 with Dream Girl Ellie!
-In Rush Division action, Star Rider meets up with Maximo Suave & Manny Domingo in triple threat action, and Jared Kripke looks to fly high against Luke Kurtis!
-Plus, Rush Division Champion Hy Zaya tangles with the Kentucky Champion Jake Lawless, OVW Heavyweight Champion Ryan Howe & OVW National Champion Mahabali Shera are both in action, and much more!

PRE-SHOW:
Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

"The Spark"
 Jada Stone vs. Tiffany Nieves.
They shake hands and lock up. Quick takedowns and a stalemate. Tiffany takes her down by the arm. She tries to cover for 1. She misses a charge in the corner, then runs into a back elbow. Jada kicks her in the head from the apron. She kicks Tiffany away and clotheslines her. She takes her down with her finisher and gets the 3.
WINNER: STONE by pinfall.

"The Benevolent"
 Jack Banning vs. "Rudo" Raul LaMotta
.
Raul locks up the arm and chops him in the corner. A hard whip into the corner, but Raul charges in and Jack hangs him up across the top turnbuckle. A big boot from Jack, then he clubs Raul across the chest and delivers a reverse DDT for 2. A hard knee to the midsection. Jack snapmares him and locks Raul in a submission. Raul breaks free, but Jack kicks him and hits a scissor kick. He drops a knee, then a leg. A senton, then Jack misses a splash in the corner. Raul kicks him and fires back. Raul clotheslines him and delivers a stomp to the back for the 3.
WINNER: RAUL by pinfall.

"Superior"
 Tony Evans vs. Dustin Jackson
.
They lock up and Dustin takes Tony down with an arm drag off the ropes. Tony chops him in the corner, but Dustin reverses the favor. He hits the dropkick and delivers a huge back body drop. He gets Tony on his shoulders, but Tony rakes the eyes and hits him down. A hard chop, then Tony shoulders him in the corner. He throws Dustin hard into the opposite corner. He throws him across the ring to the other corner again, but runs into a boot. A chop from Dustin. Another chop. Dustin charges into a swinging powerslam from Tony for 2. Tony locks in a chinlock submission. Dustin fights up and clotheslines him off the ropes. A hard clothesline and running bulldog out of the corner. He nails the running boot and goes up top. Dustin nails the Derby City Dive for the 3.
WINNER: DUSTIN by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):
Bryan Kennison, Dancin' Stevie J, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

"The Star of the Show"
 Star Rider vs. Maximo Suave vs. Manny Domingo.
Star runs into a double back elbow, then double hip toss early from his opponents. Manny sends his opponents outside and dives out on Suave. Star hits him from behind, then gets in and dives out on them both. He throws Manny into the post. Back inside, a lot of fast-paced action. Manny hits Suave with a flying headscissors, but then runs into a swinging side slam. Star dropkicks Suave hard into the corner, then goes up top. He misses Orion's Belt on Manny, and Manny then nails Star with a 450 splash for the 3.
WINNER: DOMINGO by pinfall.

"Hollyhood"
 Haley J (w/
"The Complete Package" Tony Bizo) vs. "The Divine One" Olivia Devine
.
Olivia hits Haley from behind, then big boots her. Olivia clubs her in the ropes, then slings her across the ring. She hits some big clotheslines. Bizo grabs Olivia's foot after the ref gets distracted by Haley's sock of rocks. Haley then leaps off the ropes and hits her finisher for the 3.
WINNER: HALEY J by pinfall.

Bryan Kennison
 is in the ring and brings out Al Snow. He asks Al about the recent actions of 
Dysfunction and what he plans to do about it. Al says they keep showing up and the only thing he knows to do is permanently ban them. Level X comes out and Blanco Loco says they tried to take everything from them and they cannot be banned. Al says if they want it, he will reinstate Dysfunction. On June 2, they will meet them in a Chained Carnage match, and he will not be held responsible for what happens. Dysfunction appears on the screens and Brandon Espinosa says that they always come back, so the only way to get rid of Dysfunction is if they kill them.

"The Midwest Ace" TW3 vs. 
"Goodfella" Matt Vine.
TW3 tries to lock up Vine from behind, but Vine easily breaks out of it. Vine fires away and TW3 shoves him. Vine shoves back. He avoids a running kick by TW3 and takes him down. TW3 with a throat thrust. Vine has him up for a slam, but TW3 rakes the eyes. He kicks Vine, but it only makes him mad. He clotheslines TW3 hard and nails a spinebuster. He connects with a little sweet chin music and gets the 3.
WINNER: VINE by pinfall.

In the back, Tony Gunn tells Jessie Godderz he needs to work on his smile. Jessie says he smiles when he signs million dollar contracts. Tony says he needs to smile to the fans, the ones who like the PEC-Tacular Gunns. Jessie tries a smile and Tony helps him with it, then says to try it out there.

"Southern Discomfort"
: Jebediah Blackhawk & Snake Williams Jr. vs. "Level X"
"Unforgettable"
 Axton Ray & "The Sultan of the Sky" Blanco Loco.
A hot start for Level X against Snake. They take him off his feet and deliver double kicks to the spine. Loco locks up the arm, but Snake clotheslines him and tags in Jeb. Jeb takes him down for 2 and tags Snake back in. They double team Loco, then Snake drops a knee for 1. He locks in a sleeper. Loco elbows out, but Snake clubs him. Loco tags Ray. Ray charges in and uppercuts Snake. Jeb goes after him, but accidentally clotheslines Snake in the corner. Ray flips over Jeb and nails him with a kick to the midsection and dropkick to the side of the head. He tags Loco and they deliver the Level Up for the 3.
WINNERS: LEVEL X by pinfall.

We see a video of Crixus training with Luscious Lawrence, preparing for his upcoming battle with Amon.

NON-TITLE MATCH: OVW Kentucky Champion "Flawless" Jake Lawless vs. OVW Rush Division Champion "The Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya.
They lock up and Jake yells that Hy pulled his hair. Jake with a cheap shot, then Hy takes him down and fires away with fast punches. Jake goes outside and Hy leaps through the ropes with a kick. He hits Jake and rolls him in. Jake pulls Hy's arm down across the rope and pulls him into the ringpost. He goes for an awkward superplex for 2. He locks Hy in a sleeper with his knee pressed into his back. Hy works up and slings Jake off. A back elbow, clothesline, and Hy then runs into the boots of Jake in the corner. Jake chokes him in the corner and kicks him. Hy reverses a throw and double knees Jake in the corner, then monkey flips him out. Jake grabs Hy and pulls him out of the ring. Hy vanishes under the ring and sneaks in behind Jake. Hy hits the leg lariat and a roundhouse kick. Hy with a back body drop. Jake fakes an injury and unlaces his boot. Hy has enough and tries to grab him while officials check on him. Jake quikcly rolls Hy up and gets the 3.
WINNER: LAWLESS by pinfall.
 
OVW TV (HOUR 2):

"The Queen of the North"
 Freya the Slaya vs. Dream Girl Ellie.
Freya slings Ellie down and powers her down early. Ellie back with a chinbuster and reverse headlock. Freya with a fall away slam. Freya slams her across the top rope, then chops her in the chest. Freya misses the Off With Her Head scissor kick. Ellie knees her out and goes after her. Freya makes it back in at 9 1/2. Ellie goes back after her and nails her with a kick and picks up the 3.
WINNER: ELLIE by pinfall.

In the back, Ryan Howe tells Arie Alexander to tell the people that they will not be at All Systems Go. Omar Amir walks up and says he can't believe Howe is still doing that stupid accent. He says how about tonight him and a lady of his choosing take on Howe & Arie. Howe says when they win tonight, the match at All Systems Go is off. Omar says whatever, he already has his match.

It's time for the Good Word with Reverend Ronnie Roberts! He says last week his partner Garrisaon Creed got jumped at his house, but those who trespass upon the righteous, vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord!
His special guests tonight are 
Bankroll. They are interrupted by the Outrunners, Dark Kloudz, & the PEC-Tacular Gunns! A challenge is made and accepted for a 4-corners Tag Team Title match right now!

4-CORNERS TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH:

Lots of quick action. Bodies flying in and out of the ring. Finishers being hit, pinfalls attempted, but broken up. In the end, Jessie has the Adonis Lock on Truth. Floyd tries to get in and break it up, but gets nailed with a Killshot by Gunn and Truth taps out!
WINNERS and NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: PEC-TACULAR GUNNS by submission.

"The Alpha Athlete"
 Chris Owens vs. OVW National Champion "The Indian Lion" Mahabali Shera
.
Owens kicks at the legs, but Shera grabs him by the face and shoves him into the corner. He hits him and slings him across the ring. Shera runs into a boot. Owens tries a dropkick off the ropes and tries to fire away. He kicks Shera in the corner. Shera is thrown to the corner, but charges out with a clothesline. He scoops Owens up and slams him. Shera nails the Sky High and this one is over..
WINNER: SHERA by pinfall.
After the match, Shera gets a delivery from one of the officials. He opens it up and it's a cowboy hat.

In the back, Omar Amir gets the Women's Champion Leila Grey to join him in tonight's main event as his partner!

"Certified"
 Luke Kurtis vs. "Big Whiskey" Jared Kripke.
Jared with quick offense early. He hits Luke in the corner and splashes him. Luke comes back and hangs Jared up on the top rope and kicks him in the head. Jared dropkicks Luke into the corner, but misses a charge. Luke with a t-bone suplex across the ring. Luke goes for a cutter out of the corner, but Jared leaps up and catches him with a backstabber. Jared fires up and hits a leaping clothesline. Enziguri to the head, then Jared goes up. Luke pulls him down. Jared with a headscissor takedown into the turnbuckle. He knees him in the back. Luke comes back with a takedown and locks in the crossface. Jared has to tap.
WINNER: KURTIS by submission.

"Rockstar"
 Ryan Howe & "Guit-Arie" Alexander vs. Omar Amir & OVW Women's Champion "The Unstoppable Danger" Leila Grey.
Grey goes after Arie and hits a cross body off the ropes. Howe gets Omar's attention, then as the ref gets Omar back in the corner, Howe knees Grey in the back. Arie snapmares and kicks Grey. Both women go for boots to the face and knock each other out. Howe & Omar get in and Omar hits clotheslines and an overhead throw. He clotheslines Howe to the apron and continues fighting as the women get back in. Haley J comes out to ringside and while the ref is focused on Omar & Howe, Haley knocks Grey out with the sock of rocks and Arie picks up the 3.
WINNERS: ARIE & HOWE by pinfall.

This ended the TV taping.
