OVW TV 1192: Haley Needs to "Cut it Out"


This is the OVW Report for Thursday, June 16, 2022.

TONIGHT:
-OVW Heavyweight Champion Omar Amir is in action against Drew Hernandez!
-Turbo Floyd of the Outrunners faces off with Bankroll's Ca$h Flo!
-The first edition of "The Bad Word" with Amon, D'mone Solavino, & the Dark Reverend!
-In Women's action, #1 contender Haley J goes up against Jada Stone, and the team of Freya the Slaya & Shalonce Royal will take on the team of Shawna Reed & Judi Hendrix!
-Plus, Dustin Jackson squares off with Tony Evans, and much more!

Truth Magnum (w/Turbo Floyd) vs. Grayson Douglas Jr
.
Truth takes him to the mat. Truth with a side headlock takedown. Grayson tries to roll him over for 1. Truth runs into some arm drags. Truth throws Grayson to the corner, but runs into a boot. Grayson hits a hurricanrana, but Truth takes Grayson back down. Off the ropes, Grayson rolls Truth up with a sunset flip for 2. Truth with a snapmare and locks in a sleeper. Truth misses a kneedrop, then another. Truth chops him in the corner, then throws him across. Grayson leaps over Truth and chops him back a few times. He gets on the middle turbuckle and hits a dropkick. Turbo causes a distraction on the apron, which allows Truth to hit his finisher for the 3.
WINNER: TRUTH by pinfall.

"Guit-Arie"
 Alexander vs. OVW Women's Champion "The Unstoppable Danger" Leila Grey.
They lock up and Grey with a wristlock. Grey hits Arie with a dropkick. Arie pulls Grey by the hair into the corner. Grey runs out with a slingblade. Arie pulls Grey down into the second turnbuckle, then chokes her in the ropes. Arie with a snapmare and kick to the face. Arie covers for 2. She clubs Grey across the back and snapmares her again. She locks in a sleeper and Grey works up, but Arie hits her back down to the mat. She throws her in the corner, but runs into a back elbow. Grey kicks her away again, then avoids a charge. Grey with some clotheslines and a kick. She catches Arie with the facebuster off her knee for the 3.
WINNER: GREY by pinfall.

Tyler Lee Deputy vs. "Big Money" Dimes
.
Tyler takes Dimes' protein powder and says it's not protein powder and Dimes could get 10-15 for this, and that he's under arrest. Tyler locks him up from behind and tries to cuff him, but Dimes hits him with the Change Maker for the 3.
WINNER: DIMES by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):
Bryan Kennison, Dancin' Stevie J, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

"Superior"
 Tony Evans vs. Dustin Jackson
.
Dustin locks up with Tony into the corner and Tony begs the ref to get him off. Off the ropes, Dustin plows Tony down. Dustin with a side headlock and takes Tony to the mat. A big chop to Tony, then another in the corner. Dustin throws him hard to the opposite corner and delivers another chop. Tony back with a big right, then pounds Dustin on the mat. Tony with a slam for 1. Tony stretches him out with a knee in his back. He covers for 1. Dustin tries to fire back, but Tony clubs him across the back and kicks him in the face. Dustin back with a dropkick off the ropes, then a tilt-a-whirl slam. He hits the running boot to Tony square in the face for the 3.
WINNER: DUSTIN by pinfall.

In the back, Tony Bizo tells Al Snow that he heard there's a ladder match for the Kentucky Heavyweight Title. Al tells him he's a day late and a dollar short, that he already placed Matt Vine in the match. Bizo tells Vine that he doesn't know what it takes to actually win the title. Vine says Bizo has a terrible perm and terrible highlights, and puts his spot up for grabs if Bizo can beat him tonight. Al agrees and tells them to get out of his office so he can actually get some work done.

Shalonce Royal & "The Queen of the North" Freya the Slaya vs. 
"The Daughter of 1,000 Maniacs" Shawna Reed & "Savage, Not Average" Judi Hendrix.
Reed with a Lou Thesz press to Royal. She clotheslines her and hits a twisting DDT for 2. Off the ropes, Freya kicks Reed in the back and double teams her with Royal while the ref tries to keep Judi in her corner. Freya tags in and chokes Reed with her boot. She clubs her across the back and slams her. She stomps her in the midsection and tags in Royal. Royal runs off the ropes and kicks Reed in the face for 2. Reed ducks a clothesline off the ropes, but runs into a bicycle kick for 2. Reed hits Royal with an enziguri and makes the tag to Judi. Judi hits Freya on the apron and hits Royal with a twisting neckbreaker. Royal reverses a throw to the corner. She charges, but Judi kicks her in the face. She goes to climb up top, but Freya hits her off. Judi makes a tag to Reed and Reed takes Royal down for 2 as Freya breaks the pin. Freya drags Royal to their corner and tags herself in. Freya chokeslams Reed, then runs into a tag from Royal. Royal hits a flipping legdrop on Reed for the 3.
WINNERS: ROYAL & FREYA by pinfall.

In the back, Arie Alexander is rubbing Ryan Howe with baby oil. Joe Mack walks up and says they are on the same page tonight, but next week, they will not be and he will climb the ladder to become the new Kentucky Champion. Howe says they are not on the same page and to get out of here.

"The Complete Package"
 Tony Bizo (w/"Hollyhood" Haley J) vs. "Goodfella" Matt Vine.
Bizo tries to attack, but Vine fires away on him and delivers an uppercut in the corner. Off the ropes, Vine kicks Bizo in the face. Haley gets on the apron and Bizo almost hits her by accident. Vine rolls Bizo up for 2. He delivers a back body drop, but gets tripped by Haley. Bizo chokes him in the ropes, then Haley smacks him from the outside. Bizo stands on Vine and Haley smacks him again. Bizo shoulders Vine in the corner. Vine tries to fire back, but Bizo gets him on his shoulders. Vine slides off and clotheslines him. Vine with a backdrop. He sets up for Sweet Chin Music, but Bizo begs off, then hits Vine. Haley pulls Vine down across the top rope. Leila Grey runs out and a brawl between her and Haley breaks out. Bizo is distracted, and turns around into the Sweet Chin Music from Vine for the 3.
WINNER: VINE by pinfall.

In the back, Jessie Godderz & Tony Gunn talk about their match tonight against Ryan Howe & Joe Mack. Jessie says he likes the odds of 4-2 better than 5-1, working together in the ladder match as well.

FATAL 4 WAY RUSH DIVISION MATCH: Manny Domingo vs. "Big Whiskey" Jared Kripke vs. Maximo Suave vs. "Certified" Luke Kurtis
.
Luke goes after all 3, then gets triple super kicked by all his opponents. Jared hits Suave with a backstabber, then Manny takes Jared down. Luke takes Suave down, Jared down, then hits a quick powerslam on Manny for 2. Luke hits Jared with a snap suplex. He hits Suave with a high knee in the corner. Luke then gets taken down with a twisting slam off Manny's back. Manny dives out on Luke on the outside. Jared & Suave trade blows in the ring. Jared headscissors Suave down in the corner and hits a double knee across his back. He then hits a 619 and goes up top. He chooses to dive out on Manny on the floor. Luke sneaks up behind Suave and kicks him below the belt, then rolls him up in a small package for the 3.
WINNER: KURTIS by pinfall.
After the match, Al Snow says he considers all the fans and talent part of the big OVW family. He says Jared's family is growing, but he doesn't know what to expect. He brings Jared's wife and daughter out and he finds out that the new "little whiskey" on the way will be another girl.

"The PEC-Tacular Gunns"
:
 "Shotgun" Tony Gunn & "Mr. PEC-Tacular" Jessie Godderz vs. "Rockstar" Ryan Howe & Joe Mack (w/"Guit-Arie" Alexander)

Mack locks up with Gunn into the corner. Gunn locks him up from behind, but Mack reverses and tags Howe. Howe plows Gunn down off the ropes. Off the ropes again, Gunn with a hip toss. Jessie tags in and takes over on offense, but Howe hits him in the gut and tags in Mack. Mack grabs Jessie by the throat. Jessie gets grabbed by the foot by Arie. Mack throws him to the corner and elbows him. Jessie gets free and tags Gunn. Gunn shoulders in, but Mack throws him to the corner. Howe tags in, but gets arm dragged and Jessie tags in. Jessie with a faceplant off the ropes. Gunn tags back in and delivers the "Takin' Out the Trash" release suplex. He sets up for the Killshot, but Howe rolls out to the floor. Gunn goes out and chops him, then hits his head off the barricade. Jessie kicks Howe and gives him a noogie. Back inside, Jessie locks Howe in a submission. Howe stomps on Jessie's foot and pokes his eyes. He tags in Mack and Mack plows Jessie down from behind. Howe gets Gunn's attention and as the ref deals with them, Arie trips Jessie up again, which allows Howe to pulls Jessie's head down across the top rope. Howe takes control and Arie chokes Jessie as Howe distracts the ref with Gunn. Howe locks in a sleeper. Jessie with a chinbuster. He kicks Howe to the corner into Mack, then tags Gunn. Gunn fires up on Howe and hits a backdrop. He clotheslines Howe in the corner and runs in with a knee to the face. Gunn with a running neckbreaker. Mack gets in and hits Gunn, then Gunn yells at him to hit him in the face. Off the ropes, Gunn runs into a boot, but Jessie had blind tagged. Jessie rolls Mack up from behind and gets the 3.
WINNERS: PEC-TACULAR GUNNS by pinfall.
After the match, Matt Vine & Dustin Jackson both run out to the ring and all 6 men that will be involved in the Kentucky Heavyweight Title ladder match brawl.

OVW TV (HOUR 2):

"The Midwest Ace"
 TW3 vs. OVW Rush Division Champion 
"The Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya.
Hy ducks an attack and slams TW3 down. TW3 pokes him in the eyes and gets in a little offense, but Hy comes back. He throws TW3 into the corner and knees him. He then hits him with the inverted piledriver and picks up the 3.
WINNER: HY ZAYA by pinfall.
After the match, Luke Kurtis comes out and has a staredown with Hy and points to the Rush Divison Title to say he's coming for it.

In the back, Dimes is trying to sell his protein powder to Jared Kripke. Ca$h Flo walks up and tells him that he can sell his powder later. He says tonight is all about building momentum for Independence Rage and making a statement that they will soon be OVW Tag Team Champions again, because if it don't make dollars, it don't make sense!

Amon
 is out with D'mone Solavino & the Dark Reverend Ronnie Roberts for the first edition of the Bad Word. Amon speaks through Ronnie saying he is shown him the way.
Luscious Lawrence & Crixus
run out and attack Amon & D'mone, then carry Ronnie away to the back with them.

"The Mayan Mauler"
 Drew Hernandez vs. OVW Heavyweight Champion 
Omar Amir.
They lock up and Drew knees him. He locks in a side headlock. Off the ropes, they plow into each other. Off the ropes again, Omar hits a running shoulder tackle. Drew shoulders Omar into the corner. Omar reverses and pounds Drew in the corner. He throws Drew hard into the opposite corner and chops him. Omar throws Drew to the other corner hard again. Drew pulls Omar into the corner, then hits a running shoulder tackle of his own. He locks Omar in a submission, then elbows him across the back of the head. He suplexes him and locks in a side headlock on the mat. Omar elbows, but Drew throws him down to the mat. Drew sets up in the corner and charges out, but runs into a back elbow. Drew fires back and throws him to the opposite corner. He throws him back across and charges again, but Omar leapfrogs him and Drew crashes into the corner. Omar clotheslines him, then dropkicks him. An overhead release suplex, then a t-bone suplex. Omar charges in with a splash in the corner, then a running clothesline. Omar gets him with Island Time and picks up the 3.
WINNER: OMAR by pinfall.

In the back, Crixus tells Luscious Lawrence to keep guard with the Dark Reverend. Crixus leaves and the Dark Reverend gets out of the ropes he was tied up in behind Luscious and something weird is happening. Did he possess Luscious?

Mahabali Shera
 comes out and says thank you to the fans. He has a message for his friend, James Storm. He says Storm means a lot to him, and especially when he first came to America. He says he will never forget all that he did for him, watching movies and wrestling together, and having dinners with him. However, he is the lion of this jungle and Storm said he would take his teeth off, but we will see when they step in the ring together
!

In the back, Amon & D'mone Solavino attack Luscious Lawrence & Crixus. Amon says Crixus & Luscious want to protect their friends and wanted him to come to their house, but now it's time that he & Luscious come to his.

"Hollyhood"
 Haley J 
vs. "The Spark" Jada Stone.
Jada with a quick roll-up for 2. Jada chops her in the corner and takes the fight to Haley. Haley fires back, but Jada comes back with a standing moonsault for 2. She kicks Haley in the head and knocks her into the corner. Haley pulls Jada by her tights into the corner. Jada cartwheels out of danger and hits Haley with a super kick. Haley kicks Jada below the belt and the ref calls for the bell.
WINNER: JADA by DQ.
After the match, Haley grabs a pair of scissors and cuts out some of Jada's dreadlocks. Leila Grey charges out to the ring and Haley hightails it. Leila chases her to the back.

Turbo Floyd (w/Truth Magnum) 
vs. 
Ca$h Flo (w/"Big Money" Dimes).
They lock up and Ca$h clean breaks in the corner. They lock up again into the other corner and Turbo kicks Ca$h. Side headlock by Turbo. Ca$h breaks free, kicks Turbo, and hits him in the gut. Turbo chops Ca$h, which only angers him. Turbo tries to leave the ring, but Ca$h grabs him and hits him into the top turnbuckle. Ca$h elbows him in the face and slings Turbo across the ring. Ca$h hits Turbo's head into the top turnbuckle and misses a chop. He slams Turbo and throws him across the ring and Turbo falls out to the floor. Ca$h chases him outside and Truth tries to sneak attack him with a clothesline, but it doesn't faze him. Ca$h hits him down. Truth gets on the apron. Turbo charges Ca$h, but runs into Truth when Ca$h moves. Ca$h chops Turbo. He hits a cross body on Turbo in the corner. Truth is back on the apron and Turbo pokes Ca$h in the eyes. He rakes the back of Ca$h and snapmares him. He covers for 2 as Ca$h throws him off. Turbo distracts the ref and Truth chokes Ca$h in the ropes from the outside. Turbo covers for 2. He locks in a sleeper. Turbo hits an atomic drop, but Ca$h falls backward and hits Turbo down low. Truth gets in the ring with his title. Ca$h recovers and chops Turbo. Truth gets chokeslammed by Dimes and then Dimes plays tug of war with Turbo. He pulls Turbo into the ropes and Ca$h hits the running cross body. He goes up top and connects with Payload for the 3!
WINNER: CA$H by pinfall.

  1. What happened to Jake Lawless? He's a great champion and great talent and I felt he really elevated the roster and the champions lineup.
