OVW TV 1210: Gunn's A-Blazing

This is the OVW Report for Thursday, October 20, 2022.

TONIGHT:
-The opening round of the Nightmare Cup tournament!
-We get an update on the health and status of Tony Gunn!
-In Women's action, Shalonce Royal goes 1-on-1 with Olivia Devine, and Haley J is in action against Alice Crowley!
-Ryan Von Rockit meets Anthony Catena!
-Plus, Luke Kurtis goes up against Tyler Lee Deputy, and much more!

PRE-SHOW:
Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

"Dysfunction"
Brandon Espinosa & Kyle Roberts vs. 
"Rudo" Raul LaMotta & Jay Dinero.
Dysfunction controls against Raul. He gets a hot tag, and Jay takes Kyle down for 2. He tells Raul to get up for a double team, but Espy gets in and shoves Jay into Raul. Dysfunction hits a double knee strike and picks up the 3.
WINNERS: DYSFUNCTION by pinfall.

Truth Magnum vs. 
"The Valedictorian of the Harvard of Professional Wrestling" KarDaniel Tobias Dunn
.
Truth takes Dunn down to the mat and smacks him in the back of the head. He chops and hits him in the corner. Dunn comes back with some quick hip tosses and Truth rolls out for a quick breather. Back in, Truth knees Dunn, but gets caught with another hip toss. Truth trips him up and attacks the left knee. Truth rips off his sweater vest, but Dunn fires up. He goes to town, but Truth avoids a sunset flip and locks Dunn up in a sharpshooter. Dunn has to tap.
WINNER: TRUTH by submission.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):
Josh Ashcraft & Dancin' Stevie J are on commentary, Eric Cornish is the ring announcer.

We find out that this year's Nightmare Cup will feature random pairings. The winners of the Nightmare Cup will face each other, where the winner will go on to face the OVW Heavyweight Champion the same night!

Manny Domingo joins commentary.
Tyler Lee Deputy vs. OVW Rush Division Champion
 "Certified" Luke Kurtis.
Luke locks him up into the corner and chops him. He suplexes him and hits and kicks him in the corner. He throws him hard into the opposite corner, but then runs into a back elbow. Luke snapmares him and locks in a sleeper. Tyler escapes and boots him in the face. Luke comes back and takes Tyler down into the COA and Tyler taps.
WINNER: KURTIS by submission.
After the match, Luke keeps the COA locked in and Manny gets up from commentary and runs into the ring. Luke knees him and goes to powerbomb him, but Manny slides out. He runs off the ropes and hits a headscissor takedown and locks the COA in on Luke!

In the back, Anthony Catena says he has gotten a lot of questions about where he's been and what he's been up to. He has been getting ready for moments like tonight, where he faces a former OVW Heavyweight Champion in Ryan Von Rockit. He will prove that he is a future legend and his future starts now!

"Big Al"
 Alice Crowley
 
vs. "Hollyhood" Haley J.
Before Haley comes out, we see referee Jake Cloyd thanking her in the back for standing up for him last week. She says this has nothing to do with him and everything to do with Freya the Slaya being a big bully. Haley smacks Alice hard in the chest. Alice fires back, but then Haley forearms her. Haley hits a headscissor takedown, but Alice comes back and takes control. She hits a fisherman's suplex for 2. She has Haley up, but Haley drops her. Haley with an uppercut, then catches her with a knee off the ropes. She hits a kick, then a double knee strike to the back of the head. Haley with the slingblade clothesline for the 3.
WINNER: HALEY J by pinfall.

In the back, Ryan Von Rockit sings a song about Jack Vaughn and their upcoming match at No Rest for the Wicked.

NIGHTMARE CUP OPENING ROUND: 
Big Zo & "Big Beef" Gnarls Garvin vs. 
"The 80's Baybee" TW3 & "Dreamweaver" Wayne Moxxi.
Moxxi goes after Zo and hits a knee strike. He tags TW3 and TW3 hits him with some kicks. He tags Moxxi and they double team  him with kicks, but Zo clotheslines them both down. He tags Beef, and Beef hits a couple butterfly suplexes to Moxxi. Zo tags back in and clubs Moxxi down. He throws him hard into the corner and tags Beef back in. Beef pounds him down in the corner and tags Zo. Zo runs in with a splash. Beef tags back in and Moxxi tries a sunset flip. Beef sits on him. Zo tags in and hits the Are You Serious legdrop. Beef tags back in and runs in with a knee to the face of Moxxi. Zo is back in and goes for a backdrop. Moxxi slides out, hits Beef, then tags TW3. TW3 with a kick and a dropkick. A roundhouse kick finally knocks Zo off his feet. He tags Moxxi for a double team, but Beef gets in and kicks Moxxi, then powerbombs TW3. Zo & Beef double splash Moxxi 3 times and the ref calls for the bell as he counts to 5 since one of the two did not go back to their corner.
WINNERS: TW3 & MOXXI by DQ.

Luscious Lawrence
comes out and sends a shoutout to Crixus. He says Amon and the Fallen are probably out getting ready for Halloween, but he knows the only way to defeat pure evil is with pure love. He challenges Amon for No Rest for the Wicked and doesn't care if he has to go through every member of the Fallen. He will cut the head off the snake and show Amon the love!

Anthony F.N. Catena 
vs. 
Ryan Von Rockit (w/Guit-Arie Alexander).
Ryan takes Catena to the mat and locks up the arm. Ryan headbutts his arm. Catena back with a side headlock. He hip tosses Ryan. Ryan locks the arm back up. Catena rolls around and reverses the arm lock. Off the ropes, Ryan plows Catena down. He locks the arm back up. Ryan with a backslide pin attempt for 2. Catena gets flipped to the apron and he shoulders Ryan. He leaps in, but Ryan hits the sliding uppercut and rolls him up for 2. Catena goes for a super kick, but Ryan catches his foot and hits him out of the ring. Catena jumps back on the apron, but Ryan dropkicks him off. Catena gets back in and Ryan takes him down with a drop toe hold. He locks in a chinlock. Catena with a jawjacker to break the hold. Catena gets caught with a knee to the face and a back body drop for 2. Ryan with a headlock. Catena elbows out and clotheslines Ryan several times. Catena with a big splash in the corner, but runs into a back elbow when trying for another. Ryan with an inverted atomic drop and a stomp to the midsection. Catena & Ryan trade punches. Ryan slams him, but misses a fist drop. Catena super kicks him out of the ring. Catena goes out and rolls him back in. He hits a spinning back elbow off the ropes and pulls Ryan's head down across the top rope. Catena goes for a flying body press, but Ryan ducks. Ryan hits one of his own for 2. A "fan" is hiding at ringside. Ryan sets Catena up on the top turnbuckle. He goes for a superplex, and the "fan" grabs Ryan's foot and they both hit the mat hard. Doug Basham comes out and pulls the fake beard off the fan and it's Jack Vaughn. The ref gets knocked over as Catena rolls Ryan up. Doug gets in and counts to 2. Ryan catches Catena with a shot to the abdomen, then delivers the neckbreaker drop. Doug counts the 1-2-3.
WINNER: VON ROCKIT by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 2):

We hear that 
Tony Gunn is doing well and will be better. We get an update from Tony in the hospital. He says the only reason he is still in the hospital is because of his wife. He has some fractured ribs and knows that it's because of Jessie Godderz that he's in the hospital. He knows it was Adam Revolver driving the truck that hit him. He says when he's cleared and out of the hospital, he wants Jessie in a No Holds Barred match! Shannon the Dude & Jessie Godderz come out with Adam Revolver in a neckbrace and a wheelchair. They let go of it and Adam rolls down the ramp into the side of the ring. Shannon says that Adam is clearly in no condition to do anything, much less drive. He is the real victim. Adam says that once Jessie is done with Tony, there will be nothing left of him. Jessie says the fans should be thanking him for getting rid of Tony. Ca$h Flo comes out and says how dare they sit out here and say what they're saying. He knows they are responsible. Jessie challenges Ca$h for the National Title. Ca$h says he doesn't make the matches, but if they decide he deserves a shot, he'll break his size 16 off in his @**. 

"The Fighting Siren"
 Shalonce Royal vs. "The Devine One" Olivia Devine.
Royal hits Olivia and rocks her. Off the ropes, Royal with a leaping forearm. Olivia goes for a kick and Royal grabs her leg and hits it. Olivia grabs her by the throat. Royal hits her off, but Olivia hits her and throws her to the corner. Olivia charges into a boot. Royal jumps on her back and takes her down. Royal knees her in the face and hits the running faceplant for the 3.
WINNER: ROYAL by pinfall.
After the match, Royal says that when she got to OVW she wanted to be heard and not necessarily seen. After losing everything, she will do anything to get all that she wants and that includes Leila Grey's OVW Women's Title.

NIGHTMARE CUP OPENING ROUND:
"Elusive" Eric Darkstorm & "Superior" Tony Evans vs. "The Fanny Pack Kid" Kal Herro & "Big Money" Dimes.
Evans & Eric knock Dimes off the apron and attack Kal. They double team him in their corner. Kal catches Eric with a right hook and both men tag out. Dimes drop toeholds Evans, but Eric kicks Dimes in the back off the ropes. Evans tries to take Dimes down, but he slides free and tags Kal. Kal fires away and hits the bionic elbow on Evans. Eric doesn't want the tag and jumps off the apron. Kal tags Dimes and hits the Fanny Pack Knee. Dimes follows up with the Change Maker and gets the 3 as Kal stands guard to keep Eric out.
WINNERS: HERRO & DIMES by pinfall.

"The Mercenary"
Garrisaon Creed 
vs. "The Demon Magnate" Amon.
Creed takes the fight to Amon. Amon shoves him out of the ring and eats some sort of red powder. Creed gets back in and takes Amon down and stomps him. Amon grabs the chain. Creed ducks it and Amon throws the chain down. As the ref takes the chain out, Amon spews the red stuff into Creed's face. He hits the STH for the 3.
WINNER: AMON by pinfall.
After the match, Luscious Lawrence comes out and says Amon thinks he's a demon, but he knows he's a man like everyone else. He wants to know if Amon accepts his challenge. The Fallen attack Luscious on the ramp and throw him in the ring. They all attack him and ZDP wraps a chain around him as Amon tells him that love is dead and cannot beat evil. He accepts the challenge, but says that Luscious must go through the Fallen first.

OVW NATIONAL TITLE MATCH: "Mr. PEC-Tacular" Jessie Godderz (w/Adam Revolver & Shannon the Dude) vs. 
Ca$h Flo
 (c).
Ca$h goes to chop Jessie, but Jessie avoids them. Ca$h gets him in the corner again, but Jessie gets in the ropes and the ref makes Ca$h break. Ca$h with a side headlock. Off the ropes, Ca$h plows Jessie down. Ca$h gets grabbed by STD and Jessie spears him for 2. Jessie runs into a boot. STD is on the apron, but Ca$h hits Jessie with the Wall Street Crash for 2. STD distracts the ref again and Adam gets up from his wheelchair and shoves Ca$h off the top rope. An ambulance siren is going off and we see an ambulance approaching the arena. Tony Gunn gets out of driving it and comes into the arena! He shoves Adam down and goes after Jessie. The ref calls for the bell as Tony fights with Jessie and Ca$h chops Adam clear out of the ring!
WINNER: GODDERZ by DQ, but STILL
 NATIONAL CHAMPION
: CA$H.
