May 2014 SNS Recap + OVW TV #769: "Who's the Boss?"

This is the OVW Report from Saturday, May 10, and Wednesday, May 14, 2014. The TV episode can be seen online now at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Melvin Maximus defends the OVW TV Title against Danger International's Adam Revolver, Jessie Belle faces newcomer Mary Elizabeth Monroe, Ryan Howe is back in action, Jim Cornette stops by, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Sorry for being late with this week's recap on both the Saturday Night Special and TV #769, but things have been super busy for myself and I have just gotten caught up.
If you missed out on the Saturday Night Special as I did, check it out on demand when it is uploaded online, as I heard it was one of the best of the year.
We have new champions as Jamin Olivencia and the Skywalkers defeated Marcus Anthony and the team of Dylan Bostic & the Mexicutioner, respectively. It wasn't a great night for Danger International, but Timmy Danger was able to help Adam Revolver win a #1 contender's battle royal for the TV Title. In the steel cage main event, Chris Sharpe also knocked out fellow referee Josh Ashcraft for trying to interfere with his call.
Trailer Park Trash took care of business the old school way, defeating Bobby Black & Big Jon in back to back matches as part of a gauntlet, but the Bodyguy got the last laugh by injuring Trash's ankle, just as they did to Flash Flanagan.
Shiloh Jonze also got the last laugh, as Raul LaMotta & Nick Dumeyer turned on Tony Gunn, revealing that they are still Marauders after all.
In other action, Melvin Maximus' winning streak continued as he successfully defended the OVW TV Title against Dapper Dan, and Paredyse prevailed in a handicap match against Rev. Stuart Miles & Altar Boy Jade Dawson.

I always recommend watching the episode first before reading the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 9AM and 10PM (check local listings).

Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey, & Michael Titus are on commentary and Shannon the Dude is the ring announcer for the evening.

Dylan Bostic & the Mexicutioner (w/Timmy Danger, Adam Revolver, & Marcus Anthony) vs. Leon Shelly & Elvis Pridemoore.
WINNERS: BOSTIC & MEXICUTIONER by pinfall.
This was a complete mauling by the former tag champions, still angry from their loss on Saturday. After totally decimating Leon, they do the same to Elvis, finishing him off with the Super Backstabber.
After the match, Gilbert Corsey talks to Timmy Danger. Danger says they are rebuilding and will be stronger than ever. He says that Bostic & Mexicutioner will get their rematch at the next Saturday Night Special, and that Marcus Anthony will compete to become #1 contender again at the event in E-Town. They will start rebuilding with Adam tonight, who has a shot at the TV Title. Adam states that he is now with Danger International, and has people to watch his back, unlike Mohamad Ali Vaez who is sitting at home with no one to watch his. While Adam is talking, Danger is on the phone. Danger says the "boss" wants them to make a statement and Adam had better win the TV Title tonight. Adam is confused, as is Gilbert Corsey, as they wonder who the "boss" is, as everyone thought Timmy was in charge of Danger International.

Dean Hill brings out Louisville's own Jim Cornette, who has been an announcer and general manager for OVW in the past. Jim says he has cut down on his appearances, but still stays busy with his podcast "The Jim Cornette Experience" and his one-man shows for which a DVD will be released soon. Besides returning to say "hi" to all the wonderful fans, he plugs his new book "Rags Paper & Pins" which is about Memphis wrestling and its merchandise. He will be at the Fairgrounds in the South Wing on Memorial Day Weekend, signing books and selling collectibles, and would like to see everyone there. He also says to keep supporting OVW, because you never know when you might see the next John Cena, Randy Orton, or Batista.

Dean, Gilbert, & Michael talk about upcoming events, including the event in E-Town, where #1 contendership for the OVW Heavyweight Championship will be on the line between Marcus Anthony & Ryan Howe.

Dapper Dan vs. "Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe.
WINNER: HOWE by submission.
Howe controls most of the match, using Dapper Dan's mustache to take him down. In the end, Howe locks on the Whammy Bar, forcing Dan to tap.

The Bodyguy & Bobby Black (w/Big Jon) vs. OVW Southern Tag Team Champions "The Skywalkers": Aaron Sky & "Primetime" Robbie Walker.
WINNERS: SKYWALKERS by pinfall.
Bodyguy & Black attack the Skywalkers from behind to start the match, but the Skywalkers fight back and work over the arms of Black, then Bodyguy. Big Jon interferes allowing Bodyguy to take the advantage. Sky is worked over for a bit until making a hot tag to Robbie. Robbie hits a reverse spinning kick to Bodyguy, but the pin is broken up by Black. Sky fights with Black to the outside. Bodyguy tries for a suplex on Robbie inside the ring, but Robbie blocks it and rolls Bodyguy up in a small package for the 3.
After the match, the Skywalkers are attacked by Danger International. Mexicutioner, Revolver, & Bostic all gang up on them on the outside, and Sky gets rolled into the ring to Marcus for a powerbomb. Danger says that was the statement, and at Saturday Night Special, they will take back the tag titles and leave the Skywalkers in a pool of blood.

Deonta Davis vs. "Big Country" Clint Poe.
WINNER: POE by pinfall.
Poe offers a handshake, but Deonta smacks his hand away, then smacks him in the face. Poe clotheslines him down, splashes him in the corner, hits a belly-to-back suplex, and a powerslam off the ropes for the 3.
After the match, Gilbert Corsey asks Poe about his standing in regards to the Marauders. Poe says he is not a Marauder. Shiloh Jonze walks out and says that he left the other Marauders in the back, because Poe is his favorite and although he made a mistake at the Special, he will not have to face any physical punishment. Poe says never again will he be a Marauder, he stands alone, stay out of his way!

Jessie Belle vs. "Rated G Superstar" Mary Elizabeth Monroe.
WINNER: MARY ELIZABETH by submission.
The commentators note that this is Mary's debut in OVW and that she calls herself the "Rated G Superstar" because she likes all things Disney and wants to be a role model for the girls. She delivers some quick hip tosses to Jessie Belle, but Jessie hits her in the throat, then chokes her in the corner with her boot. Jessie delivers 2 suplexes and goes for a third, but Mary reverses and rolls through the suplex into a submission called the Rainbow Cross. Jessie taps out!
After the match, an unhappy Jessie Belle attacks Mary Elizabeth.

Backstage, we see Chris Sharpe telling Josh Ashcraft that he is being demoted from all title matches after the stunt he pulled at the Saturday Night Special. Josh has legal papers that were also sent to Danny Davis, that state otherwise. Josh also points out that it was Sharpe that hit him at the Special and not the other way around. Another official enters the room and tells Sharpe that Danny Davis is looking for him.

Jamin Olivencia comes to the ring and says that he was put into a bad position. He was down, concussed, even lost faith in himself. He dug down deep, though, against Marcus Anthony in the steel cage, and with the help of all the fans, won the OVW Heavyweight Title! He mentions that Marcus Anthony & Ryan Howe will fight to become #1 contender, but it can be 3 men, 4 men, 5 men, 6 men, 7 men, 1 million men, it doesn't matter. He will stay on top!

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: Adam Revolver (w/Timmy Danger) vs. "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus (c).
WINNER and NEW OVW TV CHAMPION: REVOLVER by pinfall.
Melvin totally dominates in the early going with his strength advantage. Danger distracts Josh Ashcraft and Dylan Bostic & the Mexicutioner run out and attacks Melvin, hitting a 3-D like maneuver on him. Revolver goes for the pin, but Melvin kicks out! Melvin starts coming back, and Danger, Bostic, & Mexicutioner all get on the apron. Marcus Anthony comes out and impressively 1-arm powerbombs Melvin! Revolver goes for the pin, but again Melvin kicks out! The Skywalkers & Paredyse run out and dive onto Marcus, Bostic, & Mexicutioner on the outside. Meanwhile, Danger hands a chain to Adam. Adam blasts Melvin in the back of the head and finally gets the 3.

This ended the TV taping.

Dark Matches:

Rump Thump def. J. Best.
Tanner Reynolds def. Elvis Pridemoore.
"The Wild Boys": Eddie Diamond & Bud Dwight def. "The Marauders": Shiloh Jonze & Nick Dumeyer.

This episode of OVW TV is online now! As always, thanks for reading!
