OVW TV #774: "Unauthorized Rematch?"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, June 18, 2014. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Josh Ashcraft makes an announcement regarding Melvin Maximus' OVW TV Title, Chris Silvio is in action, Marcus Anthony faces Paredyse, Jamin Olivencia meets Shiloh Jonze in the main event, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Jason "The Man" Lee vs. Michael Hayes.
Josh Ashcraft is the referee. Hayes works over Lee's arm, and delivers a hip toss. Lee pushes Hayes, but Hayes shoves him down. Lee slaps Hayes in the face, then rolls out of the ring before Hayes can return the favor. Hayes tries to go out after him, but Josh stops him. Lee sneaks in from behind and takes Hayes down into a submission. Hayes gets back to his feet and backdrops Lee. He leaps and hits Lee with an elbow in the corner. Josh gets involved again and grabs Hayes. As Hayes argues with Josh, Lee rolls up Hayes from behind, and Josh makes a quick 3 count.
WINNER: LEE by pinfall.

"The Pastor of Disaster" Reverend Stuart Miles, "Altar Boy" Jade Dawson, & Jake Glasure vs. "Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe & "The Wild Boyz" Eddie F. Diamond & "The Party Starter" Bud Dwight.
Glasure attacks EFD from behind. EFD gets triple teamed in the corner. Miles goes for a slam, but EFD slides off and tags Howe. Howe with a spinning back elbow and a dropkick. Howe hits a swinging neckbreaker, and then throws Miles into Dawson. The referee calls a tag, and Howe flips Dawson into the ring. Howe tags Dwight. Dwight hits a finisher with EFD as Howe hits Miles & Glasure off the apron for the win.
WINNERS: HOWE & WILD BOYZ by pinfall.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 9AM and 10PM (check local listings).

Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey, & Michael Titus are on commentary with Shannon the Dude as the ring announcer.

Timmy Danger comes to the ring with Adam Revolver & Josh Ashcraft and has something very, very important to say. He says that Adam Revolver was a victim at the live event in Austin this past Saturday and will allow Josh Ashcraft to explain what happened.
Josh calls out Melvin Maximus first. Josh says that after Adam won, he was knocked out by Trailer Park Trash. Trash then made a rematch for the title on the spot, but didn't have the authority to do so. Therefore, he will need back the TV Title from Melvin to give to Adam. Melvin refuses, but Josh says that's the rules.
Chris Sharpe comes out and tells Melvin that unfortunately, for once, Josh is right. Melvin asks Adam if this is really how he wants it. He gives the belt to Adam, followed by a massive shot to the jaw. Melvin says he will be back for the title. Adam grabs the mic after Melvin leaves and asks Melvin where he's going, and if he's scared. He says it doesn't matter, because now Melvin's at the back of the line. Chris Sharpe grabs the mic away and says that Melvin does have to start at the back, but since Adam is TV champion, he has to defend the title every week. He also tells Josh that since he had the last TV Title match, he will do the one tonight! Bring out the #1 contender...
OVW TELEVISION TITLE: Randy Terrez vs. Adam Revolver (w/Timmy Danger) (c).
Terrez comes out with a flurry of offense hitting a hurricanrana, hip toss, and dropkick. Terrez goes for the corkscrew suplex, but Adam keeps rolling out of the ring with Danger calling for a timeout. Danger gets on the apron and Adam hits Terrez from behind. Adam with a backdrop. Terrez comes back with a flying hit to the head and a spinning forearm to the back. He hits the corkscrew suplex, but Josh Ashcraft runs out and distracts Sharpe. As Terrez looks at them arguing on the outside, Adam rolls Terrez up. Josh slides in to count, but Sharpe pulls him back out of the ring. Terrez hits a spinning kick, but the refs are still arguing. Danger hands Adam a chain, and Terrez gets knocked out from behind. Sharpe doesn't see it as Josh leaves. Sharpe turns around and counts the 3.
WINNER and STILL OVW TV CHAMPION: REVOLVER by pinfall.

Dapper Dan vs. "The Psychadelic Superstar" Chris Silvio (w/Mary Jane).
Dan with a little offense early, but Silvio quickly turns things around, hitting a double axehandle off the top rope and finishing Dan off with the Rocket Punch.
WINNER: SILVIO by pinfall.
Gilbert Corsey interviews Silvio and asks where he's been. Silvio says he was on a spiritual journey, but is back to accomplish something that he has yet to do. He has never been a Heavyweight Champion. Gilbert asks if he is challenging Jamin Olivencia. Silvio says Jamin is a good friend and is sure he will do the right thing and says he is not challenging him, he is going to beat him.

Marcus Anthony (w/Timmy Danger) vs. Paredyse.
Paredyse slaps Marcus' butt and dropkicks him from the ring. Paredyse dives out, but is caught. Marcus goes to hit him into the ringpost, but Paredyse slides off and pushes Marcus into the post. Paredyse goes after Danger, but Marcus clotheslines Paredyse from behind. He rams Paredyse into the side of the ring. Back inside, he squat thrusts Paredyse off his shoulders. Paredyse fights back and hits the seated senton, but referee Josh Ashcraft is "distracted" by Danger. Marcus locks in the Crimson Omen, and Josh immediately calls for the bell.
WINNER: MARCUS by submission.

The Bodyguy (w/Big Jon) vs. Rump Thump.
Bodyguy says that ever since the last Saturday Night Special, Big Jon has been costing him matches. He says that he can still train him like he did with Melvin Maximus, who is now a multi-time champion, and he was a champion himself. Rump Thump comes out and Bodyguy says that this shouldn't be hard and asks Thump if he used to dress as Urkel. Thump fires away on Bodyguy. Off the ropes, Big Jon pulls down the top rope, and Thump flies out. Bodyguy locks Thump in a submission. Thump fires back. Off the ropes again, but this time, Jon pulls down the rope and Bodyguy falls outside. Bodyguy yells at Jon and says he can do this himself. Bodyguy gets back in and turns around into the Rump Thump for the 3.
WINNER: THUMP by pinfall.

Shiloh Jonze (w/"Marksman" Nick Dumeyer & "Big Country" Clint Poe) vs. OVW Heavyweight Champion Jamin Olivencia.
Jamin takes Shiloh down and locks in a side headlock. Shiloh chops, but Jamin chops back. Shiloh rolls under the ring apron, but Jamin suplexes him in. He goes for the Standing O, but Shiloh moves. Jamin clotheslines Shiloh out of the ring. Jamin goes outside and rolls Shiloh in. Dumeyer grabs Jamin's foot. Shiloh hits Jamin. Jamin comes back with the jumping clothesline and a high knee in the corner. Dumeyer gets in with a chair, but Poe gets in and grabs it away, then decks Dumeyer. Adam Revolver runs out and distracts Jamin. Shiloh hits a roundhouse kick for 2 as Paredyse runs out and fights to the back with Adam. Marcus Anthony & Timmy Danger come out. Danger distracts Sharpe as Marcus powerbombs Jamin. Shiloh covers for 2, as Jamin kicks out again. Marcus gets back in, but Chris Silvio runs out and rocket punches Marcus. Jamin recovers and hits the Standing O on Shiloh for the 3.
WINNER: OLIVENCIA by pinfall.
After the match, Jamin says they should have a little warm up match before ETown. He tells Marcus to find a partner, and next week they will have a tag match. Adam Revolver joins Marcus & Danger at ringside, so it looks like it will be Marcus & Adam against Jamin and his partner...Chris Silvio!

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Dapper Dan & Deonta Davis vs. OVW Southern Tag Team Champions "The Sky Walkers" Aaron Sky & "Primetime" Robbie Walker.
Dan & Deonta attack the Sky Walkers. In the corners, the Sky Walkers reverse the attack, and then run and splash Dan & Deonta in opposite corners. Deonta is sent off the ropes and Sky hits a spinning back elbow. Deonta pulls Sky down by his hair. Dan comes in and hits Sky in the corner and hits him with a side slam. Deonta hits Sky in the stomach and Dan slams. Deonta comes back in and misses an elbow drop. Sky tags Walker. Walker leaps in with an axehandle, hip tosses Deonta, and then hits a legdrop. Dan breaks up the pin. Sky comes in and takes Dan out of the ring. Deonta turns around into a double superkick from Sky & Walker for the 3.
WINNERS: SKY WALKERS by pinfall.

The Mexicutioner (w/Timmy Danger) vs. "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus.
Mex with a side headlock. Melvin reverses. A test of strength sees Mex take down Melvin, but Melvin powers back up and takes Mex down. Mex hits Melvin in the corner. Melvin reverses a throw and clotheslines Mex. Danger gets on the apron, distarcting Melvin. Mex takes out Melvin's knee from behind. He works it over for a bit. Melvin kicks Mex off and clotheslines Mex. He hits a powerslam and locks in the bearhug, but Danger is back on the apron as Mex taps. Mex hits a fall away slam for 2. He charges Melvin, but Melvin moves, and Mex goes shoulder first into the ringpost. Melvin with another powerslam and loks in the bearhug again for the tapout.
WINNER: MELVIN by submission.

This episode of OVW TV will be up online tomorrow. As always, thanks for reading!

  1. So does that mean that Melvin Maximus was never champion if it was an unauthorized match?

    1. According to the great wrestling rulebook, no. That title reign is null and void.
