OVW TV #824: "Hung Out to Dry"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, June 3, 2015. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Eddie Diamond defends the Heavyweight Title in another open challenge, Josh Ashcraft reveals his new bodyguard, Adam Revolver wants to show Ryan Howe what will happen at the Saturday Night Special, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

J. Best defeated Dre Blitz. Blitz had some early momentum, but missed a kneedrop. Best clotheslines him, lifts him up, and hits a TKO for the 3.

Jade Dawson defeated Dave Bouschan. Dave had Jade on the ropes, and delivered some vicious kicks to the chest. Jade fired back though, and finished Dave off with a jumping fameasser for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Terry Boddie & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, and Shannon is the ring announcer.

We have a video that opens the show with Synn dealing tarot cards, and she states that Eric Locker is a star, but all stars fall. She says Big Jon is the tower, but towers will crumble without a foundation. She then says the fool is Josh Ashcraft. She sings "ashes, ashes, they'll all fall down" and also says something to the effect of having a 'noose' around the neck.

"The Chosen One" Mitch Huff defeated "The Standout" Adam Wylde. This was a very entertaining back and forth match with several near falls. Wylde tries some quick rollup attempts, but Huff kicks out. Wylde goes for his roundhouse kick, but Huff ducks, and then rolls Wylde up and gets the 3.

Dave-Lo & Leon Shelly come to the ring. Josh Ashcraft then comes out and says that he is not afraid of voodoo magic. He then tells Synn that what he has next is something she couldn't predict. We are supposed to have tag team action, but he found someone who was being held back and is now his personal bodyguard. That man will face Leon & Dave-Lo in a handicap match since the 2 of them put together equal 1 man...Trevor Steele!
Trevor Steele defeated Dave-Lo & Leon Shelly. Dave-Lo & Leon tried to attack Trevor as he entered the ring, but their shots didn't faze him. They throw Trevor off the ropes, but he breaks through their double clothesline attempt, grabs them both by their throats, and chokeslams them for the 3.

"Apostle" Jake Glasure defeated Elvis Pridemoore. Glasure powered through Elvis most of the match, but as Elvis started to rally, hitting the flying fist that knocked Glasure into the ropes, Glasure pulled something out of his tights and hit a left hook to Elvis as Elvis came in for the sitting splash and got the 3.
After the match, Glasure continued to pound on Elvis, which brought out Jade Dawson.
Glasure took him down and started stomping on him until the Mexicutioner came out and ran Glasure off.

Backstage, we see Jessie Belle holding her neck as Ryan Howe walks in. He asks her if this was done by Adam Revolver, and then says he is going to go find him. Jessie Belle tells him not to get suspended, and he says he won't, but he is going to teach Revolver a lesson.

Adam Revolver says he is going to get his TV Title back at SNS and take Ryan Howe out. He is going to have a warm-up match tonight under Last Man Standing rules...
Adam Revolver defeated Dre Blitz. Revolver underestimated Blitz and found himself in danger. Blitz goes up top and Revolver distracts the ref with his wrist tape. He then shoves Blitz split-legged across the top turnbuckle. Blitz falls to the mat and can't get up before the count of 10.
After the match, Shannon the Dude asks Adam if he put his hands on Jessie Belle again. Before he can answer, Ryan Howe runs out and attacks Revolver.
He chops him, and even has a soda thrown in Adam's face on behalf of a fan at ringside. Adam takes out Howe's leg though, and hits the bad knee off the floor at ringside. He tells Howe that he won't just be the last man standing, he'll be the only man standing.

Terry Boddie brought out the OVW Heavyweight Champion Eddie Diamond. He talks about EFD's upcoming match with Jay Bradley, and shows him Jay's video. EFD says he's glad Jay hasn't forgotten about OVW, because OVW hasn't forgotten about him. He says that the only way Jay will take the title away from him is by breaking him, and he isn't going to give up that easy, because he has spent 10 years risking his livelihood and his career to get where he is.
OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE OPEN CHALLENGE: Eddie Diamond (c) defeated OVW Southern Tag Team Champion Eric Locker (w/Big Jon, Trevor Steele, & Josh Ashcraft). A lot of back and forth mat wrestling between these two, including several assorted suplexes from Locker. As EFD rallies and connects with a shining wizard to Locker, Jon & Trevor distract the ref while Josh distracts EFD. EFD grabs Josh, and Josh slips off the apron but EFD has him by the tie. Josh is essentially hung by a 'noose' as Synn predicted in her video. Locker comes up on EFD, but EFD ducks and rolls Locker up in a crucifix pin for the 3, and the star Locker fell as Synn predicted also.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

OVW Southern Tag Team Champion Big Jon (w/Trevor Steele) defeated "The Chosen One" Mitch Huff.
A funny moment to start this match as Huff slapped hands with several children at ringside. Trevor then decided to do the same, but first licked or spit in his hand and had a few children slap hands with him.
Huff had the early advantage, but Jon came back with some power moves. Huff caught Jon with a super kick, but Jon kicked out at 2. Trevor got on the apron, distracting Huff, and Huff turned into a chokeslam from Jon for the 3.

Don't forget that the next Saturday Night Special is THIS SATURDAY!
OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Eddie Diamond (c) vs. Jay Bradley
OVW TV TITLE/LAST MAN STANDING: Ryan Howe vs. Adam Revolver
Randy Royal & Trailer Park Trash vs. King Shane Williams & Vic the Bruiser
The Mexicutioner & Jade Dawson vs. Rev. Stuart Miles & Jake Glasure
PLUS MORE!

As always, thanks for reading!
