This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, May 11, 2016. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, we have a "Win & You're In" Scramble for the last spot in Saturday's OVW TV Title Tournament, Rev. Stu Miles faces Randy Royal ahead of the OVW Southern Tag Team Title Match, TV Title Tournament competitors Bud Dwight & Tony Gunn team up against Robbie Walker & Stephon Smith, plus much more!
Without further ado:
Here we go...
Pre-Show Dark Matches:
After the match, Shane grabs a mic and says they will win the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles. Jessie Belle says the Tag Buddies better pray they walk out. Royal says he will go so far to make a guarantee that if they don't win, they will retire and quit on the spot.
That
concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching
the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report.
Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.
Gilbert Corsey & Ron Hed are on commentary, and Torey Payne is the ring announcer.
Rocco Bellagio comes to the ring and tells the fans they don't deserve a champion like him, but they are gonna get one anyway. He says Big Jon will be staring up at the lights after their match at the Saturday Night Special. He says he was called a girly man by Jon last week, but what will that make Jon after he beats him? This brings Big Jon out and he says Rocco knows he can't beat him fair and square, that's why he targeted his ribs. They argue, and start shoving each other. Dean Hill runs out and tries to get in between them. They shove him hard into the corner, and Jon realizes what happened. He looks over at Dean, but Rocco takes advantage and hits Jon with the Plunge.
The locker room empties, and half of them check on Dean Hill while the other half holds Rocco back in the corner. Trevor Steele is angry and grabs a mic. He says he is tired of bullies like Rocco trying to tear this company down. He wants him in the ring tonight. Rocco says to book it, and Dean says it's going to happen because he says so!
OVW TV TITLE QUALIFIER "WIN AND YOU'RE IN" SCRAMBLE: Rudy Switchblade defeats "Top Flight": Mickey Muscles & Brother Reed and "The Van Zandt Family Circus": Dapper Dan Van Zandt & Ringmaster (w/Scarlet). Top Flight knocks the Circus out of the ring. Muscles dropkicks Ringmaster into Dan, and then Reed flies out through Muscles' legs onto them. Rudy rolls up Muscles to eliminate him. Reed gets back in and hits a standing moonsault on Rudy. Scarlet distracts Reed, and the Circus hits their double-team Death Valley Driver/Flying Elbow combo on him to eliminate him. The Circus then double-teams Rudy. Rudy is able to shove Dan into Ringmaster who was on the apron to the outside. He then jumps off the second rope and connects with a kick to the head of Dan to eliminate him. Dan is upset and hits Rudy with a Death Valley Driver. He helps Ringmaster climb up for the flying elbow, but Rudy rolls out of the way. Referee AJ Lucio throws Dan & Scarlet out. Rudy ducks a flying roundhouse kick and locks in the Cloverleaf for the tapout.
Josh Ashcraft comes out and says Huff is a liar. Huff is a known poker player, and he is calling Huff's bluff. Josh said he heard the pop and there is no way he can compete. Josh tells him to prove it, hop on one foot. Huff hands Hed his crutch and nails Josh with the Athlete's Foot. He tells Josh his foot is fine.
Big Jon runs out and shoulders Rocco in the ribs in the corner. He clotheslines Rocco to the outside and tells him that his ribs are gonna hurt a whole lot more after their title match Saturday!
This ended the TV taping.
Post-Show Dark Matches:
As always, thanks for reading!
It's not like posting on here will change anything, but it really is a shame that OVW can't reach out to more women to be a part of their show. Ever since they brought back their title last year, they've hardly done anything with it. It's always Jessie Belle and Maria James. They occassionally use Nutty Nancy and Scarlet at live events, but no one else.
ReplyDeleteIt's shouldn't be too much trouble to find other women should it? If they can't, they may as well deactivate the belt again and keep it that way.
I brought up that issue with the owner, but got no answer. We have a ladies champion who has no one to defend against. I guess the "New Talent Initiative" does not apply to women.
