OVW TV #959: "Do You Believe in Magic?"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, January 3, 2018. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, spots in the last ten of the Nightmare Rumble are up for grabs, we find out about the future of the Southern Tag Team Titles, the OVW Heavyweight Champion and the #1 contender face off in 8-man tag action, plus more!

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

William Lutz defeats Dre Blitz. Lutz with a quick start, but Blitz takes him down and gets in some kicks before Lutz fires back and takes Blitz down with a drop toehold. He hits a side slam and goes for the moonsault, but Blitz knocks him off the top rope. Blitz throws him off the ropes, Lutz ducks a clothesline, and Lutz comes back with a sunset flip for the 3.

"Margarita & Moonshine": "Bad Girl" Jessie Belle & "Amazing" Maria James defeat OVW Women's Champion Jaylee & Torey Payne. Maria & Torey lock up first, and Maria takes her down for a quick pin attempt. Maria locks an armbar and Torey reverses into a side headlock. Jessie tags in and offers a test of strength. Jaylee wants a tag, so she blind tags and runs into a drop toehold from Jessie. Torey tags back in and locks in a headlock on Maria, who was tagged in. Jessie tags in and hits the Kiss My Grits in the corner. Maria & Jessie go for a double team, but Torey reverses into a double DDT. She goes for a tag, but Jaylee turns her back and jumps off the apron. Maria rolls Torey up from behind for the 3.

After the match, Torey & Jaylee brawl. Torey then challenges Jaylee to a Women's Title match this Saturday. Jaylee accepts, and Torey says the title will come home with a real woman.

NIGHTMARE RUMBLE SPOT in the LAST TEN: Big Zo defeats Apollo "Showtime" Garvin. Zo shoves Apollo down and hits the Are You Serious legdrop for 2. Apollo comes back raking the eyes, and choking Zo. They exchange blows, and Zo catches Apollo in a big slam. Zo goes up and hits the Zo bomb to get the 3.

David Lee Lorenze III comes out with the Entourage and says he needs his co-host Dean Hill out here. Dean comes out and says he knows what this is about.

He says the Bad Boys Club is scheduled to defend the Southern Tag Team Titles against the Bro Godz at the Saturday Night Special and he calls out Randy Royal (accompanied by Jessie Belle), but there have been some issues with Shane Andrews where he's missed some time and the only option is if Randy Royal perhaps defends them in a handicap match. Randy says he'll do that if he has to, or maybe he can get another partner. David says it's the Bad Boys Club, not anyone else. Jessie Belle says it is the Bad Boys Club and she's a part of it. She will fill in for Shane! Dean Hill okays it.

NIGHTMARE RUMBLE SPOT in the LAST TEN: Kevin Giza defeats "The Winter Swoldier" Adam Slade. Fast paced match featuring partner vs. partner. Giza with the majority of the offense. He hits a super kick and powerbomb on Slade out of the corner, followed by a knee to the face for 2. Several quick roll-up attempts back and forth, but Giza finally gets the 3.

Randall Floyd comes out and says he is #2 in the Nightmare Rumble, and he gets to smack everyone's faces in the back who gets in his way, starting with "The River City Rat" Logan James. He is going to show a preview right now.
"RANDALL RUMBLE" (OVER THE TOP GAUNTLET): "The Real Deal" Randall Floyd defeats "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson. Sam goes right after Randall, firing away. Randall comes back with a big slam and slings Sam out of the ring.
"The Real Deal" Randall Floyd defeats William Lutz. Randall stomps Lutz on the way in. Lutz comes back with some hip tosses, but gets caught off the ropes for a Deal Breaker. He is tossed out.

"The Real Deal" Randall Floyd defeats "Livewire" KTD. Randall goes after KTD as he enters as well. KTD fires some rights back at him, but Randall knees him in the gut. Randall works him over and hits a backbreaker. KTD locks in a Hell's Gate submission, but Randall powerbombs him off, then tosses him out.

After the match, Logan James' music hits and he runs to the ring. He fights with Randall and tosses him from the ring!

8-MAN TAG MATCH: Houdini, Dapper Dan, Billy O, & Aloicious Hamilton defeat OVW Heavyweight Champion Michael Hayes, Colton Cage, David Lee Lorenze III, & Adam Revolver (w/Dustin Jackson, Shannon the Dude, OVW Women's Champion Jaylee, & the Camera Guy). Things start with Dan shoving Adam down hard. Billy & DL3 tag in. Billy takes DL3 down with a clothesline and dropkick. He hits him with a big spinebuster and tags in Alo. Alo with a reverse cross body off the ropes. Houdini tags in as DL3 tags Hayes. Houdini is taken down by a big clothesline, then worked over by all of Hayes' team for a while. Colton tags in and goes to grab Houdini, but Houdini rolls him up in a small package out of nowhere for the 3!

After the match, things go crazy as the 8-men, as well as Dustin and the Camera Guy start brawling. Referee Stephon Smith starts throwing punches and rump thumps DL3. Apollo runs out and full nelson slams Stephon.

Zo runs out and takes Apollo down, then Amon & the Void comes out, Logan James, Randall Floyd, and then the rest of the locker room.

The entire locker room spills out giving us a preview of what we might see at the Nightmare Rumble, as Zo is the last man standing in the ring!

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"The Void": Damion & Chace Destiny (w/Amon) defeats The Bluegrass Brawler & Nigel Winters. This match was all Void. In the end, Damion hits Nigel with Eat De-Feet, Chace follows with a high knee to the face, and for extra measure, Amon sneaks in and takes Nigel down with a shot with the chain.
After the match, Amon pedigrees Nigel and the Void hits their finisher on BGB.

"The River City Dragon" Logan James defeats Dustin Jackson (w/Colton Cage). A quick fast-paced match. LJ hits a unique suplex slam for 2. He goes up, but Cage knocks him down from the outside. Dustin powerbombs him for 2. LJ comes back, takes Dustin down and hits the frog splash for the 3.
