OVW TV 1012: A Marvelous Ending

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, January 2, 2019. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at OVW TV. In this episode, Colton Cage defends the OVW TV Title against Dapper Dan, a 10-man "rapid rumble" gives us a sneak peek of what the Nightmare Rumble might look like, plus more!

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Eddie Knight defeats William Lutz. Lutz clubs him and takes him down. Eddie drop toeholds him into the corner. Lutz comes back and works over the arm. He headbutts it off the top rope. Off the ropes, Eddie ducks a kick and comes back with some punches to the gut. Lutz catches him with a spike slam for 2. Lutz hits him and sets him on the top turnbuckle. He goes for a superplex and Eddie blocks. Eddie hits him off the top and delivers the flying elbow drop for the 3.

"Livewire" KTD defeats Ashton Cove. KTD holds up a dress and a bra making fun of Cove and his nipple tape. Cove chases him around the ring and into the ring. KTD gives him a titty twister, but Cove throat thrusts him. Cove chokes him in the ropes and works him over. KTD back with a roll up for 2. Cove goes back on the offense. He clotheslines him hard for 2. He throws KTD to the outside and tells the ref to count. KTD grabs the bra and gets under the skin of Cove again. Cove goes after him, but KTD rolls him up with a crucifix pin for the 3.

Leonis Khan defeats Nigel Winters (w/Chace Destiny). Nigel attacks Leonis as he gets off his entrance gear. He hits him in the corner and smacks him hard. Leonis hits him back and delivers a huge back body drop. He press slams him, then chops him 3 times, taking Nigel's shirt off on the last one. Nigel goes after the arm. Leonis throws him off. Nigel goes out and tries to hit him with the skull on the stick, but Leonis blocks and knees him. Chace grabs Leonis' foot and Nigel hits him with the skull from behind for 2! He tries again, but Leonis moves. Leonis hits Chace off the apron and chokeslams Nigel on the skull for the 3.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH: Colton Cage (c) defeats Dapper Dan. Before the bell rings, Eddie Knight runs out and attacks Dan. He argues with Colton and then they get into it. Dan then blindsides Colton and has control. He hits Colton with the Death Valley Driver, but Eddie is back out with a chair. KTD, Dimes, & Brandon Wolfe are out to restrain him. Colton recovers and clubs Dan from behind. He hits a reverse DDT, then hits the scissor kick for the 3.

Jaylee (w/"The It Girls": Cali & Valerie Vermin) defeats Brittany Garcia. Cali & Val distract Brittany, allowing Jaylee to attack her from behind. She works her over. She hits her into the turnbuckles. Jaylee hits her in the corner, then Cali chokes her as Jaylee distracts the ref. Brittany starts to fire back and clotheslines Jaylee. Jaylee kicks her in the gut, then locks in the armbreaker for the tapout.

After the match, the It Girls grab Mercy and throw her in the ring. Jaylee locks the armbreaker on her until Brittany runs out.

She gets double teamed by Cali & Val, then gets clocked with the Women's Title by Jaylee.

J. Best takes over as ring announcer.

"The War Kings": Crimson & Jax Dane defeats Brandon Wolfe & Dimes. Jax chokes Dimes in the corner. Dimes fires back and hits a DDT. He tags Wolfe and Wolfe leaps off Dimes' back onto Jax in the corner. They double dropkick Crimson out of the ring. He gets back up and shoves Wolfe to the floor. The War Kings then dominate the rest of the match, squashing Wolfe & Dimes with their power. Dimes gets a hot tag and gets in some super kicks and springboard cutters, but gets caught with the Off With Their Heads for the 3. After the match, they grab a mic and say they are tired of no competition and may reconsider their affiliation. They are kings...the only kings here...and whoever steps in their way, it will be off with their heads!

10-MAN RAPID RUMBLE:

ORDER of ENTRY: Shiloh Jonze, Maximus Khan, DL3, Justin Smooth, Big D, Amon, Sam Thompson, Big Zo, Crazzy Steve, & Melvin Maximus.

ORDER of ELIMINATION: Maximus by Shiloh & DL3, Smooth by Amon, Shiloh & DL3 by Big D, Big D by Sam, Sam by Amon & Steve, Steve by Melvin, Amon by Melvin, Zo by Melvin.

WINNER: Melvin, but then Adam Revolver attacks him and takes out the leg. Adam slides some chairs in the ring and puts one on Melvin's head.

Before he can hit Melvin with the other, Adam gets chased off by Tony Vanetti who is swinging a chair of his own.

This ended the TV taping.

DARK MATCH: "Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeats Chace Destiny (w/Nigel Winters). Gunn takes Chace down and Nigel jumps on the apron to distract him. Chace shoulders him in the corner. Gunn fires back and goes for the flying knee, but Nigel trips him up. Gunn fights back again and sets up for the Killshot, but again Nigel grabs his foot. Chace kicks Gunn to the outside and hits him across the back. Chace rolls him back in and locks in a submission. Gunn is working his way up, but Chace delivers a neckbreaker drop for 2. Gunn catches Chace with a spinebuster and both men are down. Gunn shoulders Chace in the corner, but Chace reverses a throw and Gunn almost crashes into the ref, allowing Chace to regain control by hitting him from behind. Gunn fires back again and clotheslines him. He hits a back body drop and splashes him in the corner. He kicks Nigel off the apron and then throws him outside. Chace tries to roll him up from behind for 2. He turns into a Killshot from Gunn and Gunn gets the 3.
