In this episode, Dimes faces Hy Zaya with the winner becoming #1 contender for the Rush Championship, Melvin Maximus faces Jay Bradley with spots #2 and #29 up for grabs in the Nightmare Rumble, plus more!

Pre-Show Dark Matches:
OVW Overdrive (Airing Saturdays at 11AM starting in January):
Dustin Jackson defeats Chace. Back and forth off the ropes, and Dustin hits Chace with a dropkick. Chace regroups on the outside. Back in, Dustin spells "BRO" in the corner with hits. Chace goes out again and pulls Dustin out and hits him on the outside. He stomps Dustin as he rolls back in. He wants a countout, but Dustin rolls back in again. Chace stomps him again and goes up top for a fist drop. Dustin rolls away. He hits the running boot to the face and then hits the splash off the top for the 3.
Max the Impaler defeats Valerie Verman. Max grabs her and slings her across the ring. She misses a charge in the corner, and Val charges in with forearms. Max grabs her and slams her down, and Val rolls out. She grabs Val from the outside and clubs her across the chest. Max slings her in and hits another big slam. Max misses a legdrop and Val hits a seated clothesline for 1. Val swings around Max and goes for a Russian leg sweep, but Max clotheslines her down. She drops Val across the top turnbuckle, then spears her for the 3.
"Kings Ransom": Leonis & Maximus Khan defeat "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson & Dapper Dan. Kings Ransom takes it to Sam early. Dan gets tagged in after some hard chops, but tags right back out to Sam. Sam with a chop to Leonis, but it doesn't faze him. He throws Sam hard into their corner and they hit Kings Landing on him for the 3!
After the match, Leonis grabs a mic and says Maximus might have got the pin, but at the Nightmare Rumble, there's only room for one king! Maximus tells his brother to bring it!

FOR SPOT #29 in the NIGHTMARE RUMBLE (Loser gets #2): Jay Bradley (w/Josh Ashcraft) vs. "Mr. Marvelous" Melvin Maximus (w/Mrs. Marvelous).
Before the match, Melvin introduces Mrs. Marvelous, but she doesn't come out. Jay attacks Melvin from behind. He chops and hits Melvin in the corner. He slams him and hits a big boot for 2. He kicks Melvin and drops an elbow. He locks in a sleeper. Melvin works his way up, but Jay knees him. Melvin back with a suplex. Melvin fires back. Off the ropes, Jay goes for a Boomstick, but Melvin connects with a back body drop. He sets up for the Marvelous Leg Sweep, but Mrs. Marvelous' music hits. It's Amon, and he holds up Mrs. Marvelous' dress. Jay hits Melvin from behind and rolls him up for the 3!
WINNER: JAY by pinfall.
DL3 comes out and says with a new year comes new changes, he is the new official spokesman for Cali Young's campaign to be president in 2020. Unfortunately, she will be busy with the Iowa caucuses and will not be here Saturday night for her title match against Max the Impaler. He says Max is the size of Iowa, but her votes don't count, he looked it up.
Max comes out and grabs him and has him in the corner, when Megan Bayne's music hits. Megan comes out and says if she wants to make a statement, how about she fights her right now? Max says she will face her Saturday night, only if she wins, Megan never gets another opportunity to face her. Megan accepts.
WINNER GETS A GUARANTEED SPOT (18-28) IN THE NIGHTMARE RUMBLE: "Shotgun" Tony Gunn vs. Drew Hernandez.
Some quick back and forth early. They slap each other, then each clothesline each other out of the ring. They exchange chops and hits, then Gunn catches Drew with a knee that sends him to the floor. Gunn hits him on the outside, rolls him in, then hits the knee from the top rope. Drew comes back, shouldering Gunn into the corner. Gunn recovers and goes for another flying knee, but Drew moves and hits a spinebuster. Drew with 3 shoulder tackles. He goes for a fourth, but Gunn kicks him and hits a DDT for 2. Gunn takes off his wrist tape and goes to choke Drew with it, but the ref stops him. The ref takes the tape out while Drew kicks Gunn and goes for the Mayan Apocalypse. Gunn hits his way out of it, then connects with a Killshot for the 3.
WINNER: GUNN by pinfall.
#1 CONTENDER FOR THE RUSH CHAMPIONSHIP: "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya (w/Josh Ashcraft) vs. Dimes.
Josh causes a distraction that allows Hy to hit Dimes from behind. Hy hits him, but Dimes comes back with a dropkick. Hy regroups on the outside. Dimes baseball slides into him. He hits him on the outside and goes after Josh. Hy tries to sneak up from bheind, but Dimes catches him. Back inside, Dimes with a missile dropkick off the top. Dimes takes him down and locks in a sleeper. Hy breaks free and chops Dimes, then kicks him in the corner. Dimes comes back with a flying cross body for 2. Dimes gets tripped up by Josh off the ropes. He runs back toward Hy, but gets hit with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Dimes fires back and has Hy on the top in the corner. Dimes goes for a hurricanrana, but Hy holds on and hits a Styles Clash. Hy with a Michinoku Driver for 2. Hy with a sleeper. Dimes breaks free, but Hy clotheslines him down. Off the ropes, Dimes hits a hurricanrana and kicks Hy in the corner. He goes up and hits a seated senton for 2. Hy blocks a Change Maker and slams him for 2. Hy goes up for Ninja Vanish, but Dimes moves. He hits a Change Maker, but Josh jumps on the apron. Hy recovers and rolls him up with a handful of tights for the 3.
WINNER and #1 RUSH CONTENDER: HY by pinfall.
After the match, the Legacy of Brutality storms the ring and attacks Dimes. They hit his leg with a chair before Corey Storm runs out to help. The numbers game is still too much. AJ Daniels then runs out and helps even the odds. He dropkicks Ca$h Flo, hits a kick to the head of Big Zo, and takes a chair to Ca$h, then Jay with Storm. Storm says they can't beat them fair and square, that's why they're doing this. They will hold on to the titles until the end of time. AJ then says he knows Hy is now #1 contender, but how about adding Storm to the match and making it a triple threat!
WIN AND YOU'RE IN (NIGHTMARE RUMBLE): "The Hammer" Randall Floyd vs. "Action" Ashton Cove.
They lock up and Floyd takes Cove down with a Deal Breaker. He locks in the Boston crab, but Dustin Jackson comes to ringside, distracting Floyd. Justin Smooth sneaks in and hits Floyd from behind with the title belt and puts Cove on top of Floyd for the 3!
WINNER:COVE by pinfall.

I think the episode number on someone's side is messed up. This episode says 1063, but OVW published these matches on the 7th January and that says its Episode 1066.
