OVW TV 1172: The Lion Roars!

  
This is the OVW Report for Thursday, January 27, 2022.

TONIGHT:
-Jessie Godderz celebrates 500 days as National Champion!
-Reverend Ronnie Roberts teams up with the Kentucky Heavyweight Champion Luscious Lawrence to face the duo of Mahabali Shera & Tony Gunn!
-OVW Women's Champion Freya the Slaya is in triple threat action against Charlie Kruel and Dream Girl Ellie!
-Level X meets up with Dysfunction in tag team action!
-Plus, Gustavo faces AJ Daniels, Rush Division Champion Star Rider is in action, Haley J returns, and much more!

PRE-SHOW:
Eric Cornish & Linda Kay are the ring announcers.

Prince Ahmed vs. "The Nephilim" D'mone Solavino.
D'mone hits him in the corner and the ref forces him to break. Ahmed fires out with hits and a headbutt. He takes him down with a clothesline, then a leg scissor takedown. D'mone comes back and attacks the limbs methodically. Ahmed comes back and locks D'mone up in a sharpshooter, but D'mone gets to the ropes. D'mone takes Ahmed down in a crucifix submission and Ahmed taps.
WINNER: D'MONE by submission.

"The Disposable Hero" Scott Cardinal vs. "The Rookie of the Century" AJ Cazana.
They lock up and it's a stalemate. They lock up again and Scott drives AJ into the corner. He locks in a side headlock. Scott chops him in the corner, then AJ reverses and delivers some. Scott with a throat thrust. He chops AJ again. AJ with a flopkick and has Scott laid out in the corner for a corner bomb. He hits it for 2. Scott comes back with a super kick and nails a TKO for the 3. Josh Ashcraft comes out and nods. Looking for a possible new addition to the Legacy of Brutality?
WINNER: CARDINAL by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):
Bryan Kennison, Dancin' Stevie J, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish & Linda Kay are the ring announcers.

"Mr. Zero Gravity"
 AJ Daniels vs. Gustavo.
Gustavo dances away from attacks by AJ. He gets AJ to dance too, but AJ then pokes him in the eye. Off the ropes, Gustavo takes him down with some arm drags. He locks up the arm. AJ runs into the corner and breaks the hold. AJ with a Russian leg sweep and pounds Gustavo on the mat. Gustavo kicks him to create some space. He misses a charge and AJ with a German suplex. AJ with a leaping facebuster for 2 as he pulls Gustavo up. He palces Gustavo on the top turnbuckle. Gustavo elbows him off and kicks him in the face. He hits the Salina Del Sol off the top rope for the 3.
WINNER: GUSTAVO by pinfall.

"Flawless "
 Jake Lawless & "The Mercenary" Garrisaon Creed vs. "Big Money" Dimes & Ca$h Flo.
Jake starts out with Ca$h and puts on a bulletproof vest to protect himself from the chop shop. Dimes tags in and tries to chop Jake as Ca$h did, but sees that the vest is protecting him. Creed tags in and stomps Dimes down in the corner. Ca$h keeps getting in behind the ref's back to hit Creed and help Dimes out. Ca$h gets a hot tag and takes out Creed & Jake. He tags Dimes back in and Dimes rips off the vest of Jake and chops him. He kicks Creed and hits him with a Change Maker, then Dimes & Ca$h hit the double chokeslam on Jake for the 3.
WINNERS: DIMES & CA$H by pinfall.

In the back, we see Tony Gunn approach Mahabali Shera. He says previously, they were on different sides, but tonight they are on the same side. They shake hands and Shera says "Let's do it".

"The Unstoppable Danger"
 Leila Grey vs. "Hollyhood" Haley J.
Leila on the attack early. She hits Haley with a suplex, rolls through, and then hits an inverted suplex. Haley comes back, kicking Leila off the ropes. She hits her finisher and gets the 3.
WINNER: HALEY by pinfall.
After the match, Haley says she didn't want to come back until she was 100%. She says to the big dummy running around, Freya (the Slaya)...everyone here, everyone at home, and everyone in the locker room knows she is the top dog.

Bryan Kennison
interviews Dustin Jackson. Dustin says Kal Herro is his partner, his friend, and he loves the guy, but his shoulder is pretty messed up right now. Bryan shows a picture of Kal seeing a doctor this past weekend and says Dustin fought valiantly. Dustin says he tried to fight as hard as he could to protect his partner, but it wasn't enough. Dark Kloudz delivered a devastating shoulder breaker.
Dark Kloudz comes out and makes fun of Kal's injury and Dustin boo-hooing. They said there are 3 choices. He can be superman and defend the titles by himself, he can go find himself a new partner, or just hand the titles over now. Dustin says he will show them what he thinks and hits them. He tosses Deget out of the ring, then clotheslines Eric out.

Kentucky Heavyweight Champion "Mr. Juicy" Luscious Lawrence (w/"Hollyhood" Haley J) & Reverend Ronnie Roberts vs. "The Indian Lion" Mahabali Shera & "Shotgun" Tony Gunn.
Gunn & Luscious lock up. In the corner, Luscious does a little wiggle behind Gunn. Gunn back with a takedown. He runs into some arm drags from Luscious. Ronnie & Shera both get tagged in. Ronnie offers a handshake and Shera squeezes his hand down to the mat. Ronnie tries some forearms, but Shera launches him into the corner. Luscious comes in and jumps on Shera's back and Shera rams him into the corner. Shera takes Ronnie down, then Luscious with a chokeslam. He kicks Luscious in the corner. Ronnie tags back in, and Shera tags in Gunn. Gunn works the arm, then shoulders him in the corner. Gunn with a backdrop, then delivers the "takin' out the trash" release suplex. Gunn throws Ronnie to the corner and charges. Ronnie flips him to the apron. Gunn shoulders him through the ropes and goes for the knee off te top. Ronnie moves and tags in Luscious. Luscious slams Gunn and Ronnie tags back in. He hits the slick legdrop for 2. Luscious & Ronnie attack the arm, but then Gunn makes a hot tag to Shera. Shera with a running plow over Ronnie, ten a huge spinebuster for 2. Luscious breaks the count. Shera drags Ronnie to the corner. Gunn tags in and hits a suplex for 2. He locks in a sleeper. Ronnie works up and hits an enziguri. Luscious tags in and takes Gunn down, then hits the Luscious Legdrop. Off the ropes, he nails a powerslam for 2 as Shera breaks the pin. Luscious hits Shera with a fameasser, but Shera bounces right back up. He charges, but Luscious pulls down the rope and Shera flies out. Luscious butt bumps him off the apron as he tries to get back in, then Ronnie leaps out with a double axehandle. Gunn nails Luscious with a Killshot in the ring to get the 3.
WINNERS: GUNN & SHERA by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 2):
Bryan Kennison, Dancin' Stevie J, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish & Linda Kay are the ring announcers.

"Certified"
 Luke Kurtis vs. Rush Champion "The Star of the Show" Star Rider.
Quick offense from Luke early. He hits a dropkick and knocks Star from the ring. He goes for a baseball slide, but Star moves and clotheslines him. He backdrops him on the side of the apron. He kicks Luke in the corner inside. Luke back with chops, but then Star takes him down with a dropkick for 2. Gustavo comes out and chases Star around and in and out of the ring. Star gets taken down by a faceplant from Luke off the distraction and gets the 3.
WINNER: KURTIS by pinfall.

Jessie Godderz is out to celebrate 500 days as the National Champion. He joins commentary.

TRIPLE THREAT: Charlie Kruel vs. Dream Girl Ellie vs. OVW Women's Champion "The Queen of the North" Freya the Slaya.
Freya slings Ellie & Kruel across the ring. They try to double-team Freya, but Freya clotheslines and kicks them off. Ellie gets some hits and a kick to the face in, but Freya slams her. Kruel kicks her, but Freya slams her and delivers a big legdrop for the 3.
WINNER: FREYA by pinfall.
Angelina Love appears on screen and says she heard Freya had some choice words for her. She is a former 7x Women's Champion and the 2022 Women's Nightmare Rumble winner. She has been in matches with a size difference before. She is not going to tell Freya when or where, but she will be back to cash in her title shot and take the OVW Women's Title. Freya calls her a plastic fraud and says it doesn't matter when or where she shows up.
Ryan Howe
interrupts with Arie Alexander. He tells Freya he doesn't have a lot of friends at the top, because it's lonely up here. He says she has been kind, but silent in their interactions and wants to know if she'd like to be his friend.
Omar Amir
interrupts and says he is trying to butter her up, because she's big and calls her a "franken-ho". He challenges Howe to a mixed-tag "Blind Date" match at Tough Love. He says he can bring the "big booty ho" Arie, or the "Franken-ho" Freya.

"Superior"
 Tony Evans vs. "The Complete Package" Tony Bizo (w/Dr. Ricky Jones).
Evans tries some quick rollups. He smacks Bizo and Bizo acts like he is going to leave. Haley J comes out to the ramp which reignites Bizo. He grabs Evans and drops him with the Bizo Bomb for the 3. He looks up to see Haley gone.
WINNER: BIZO by pinfall.

"Dysfunction"
: Brandon Espinosa & "The Iron Bear" Tom Coffey vs. 
"Level X""Unforgettable" Axton Ray & "The Sultan of the Sky" Blanco Loco.
Level X with quick tags and offense early. Loco gets stomped and double-teamed in Dysfunction's corner. Loco gets a hot tag to Ray. Ray flips over Espy high, then delivers an enziguri. Loco tags back in and they hit a double team for 2. Espy tags back in, but gets rolled up by Loco for the 3.
WINNERS: LEVEL X by pinfall.
After the match, Dysfunction attacks Level X and hit their finisher on Ray across Loco on the mat.

RUSH DIVISION TITLE (GUSTAVO BANNED): "Certified" Luke Kurtis vs. "The Star of the Show" Star Rider (c).
Luke with another faceplant at the bell for 2. Luke then delivers a spinebuster for 2. Star comes back with a hard dropkick into the corner and stomps him. He delivers 2 brainbusters, but then goes out and grabs a chair. The ref tries to take it away, but Star shoves him down for the DQ.
WINNER: KURTIS by DQ, STILL RUSH CHAMPION: STAR.
After the match, Gustavo runs to the ring, but Star throws the chair perfectly at his face and knocks him out. He mounts and pounds him until the referees are able to pull him off.

Jessie Godderz
 is back out to the ring with Shannon the Dude to celebrate his 500 days as National Champion. He pops some champagne all over Dancin' Stevie J. Jessie says he is so confident he will never lose the title, he is willing to give anyone in the back a chance at it.
Mahabali Shera comes out. Jessie tells Shera not to touch his cake. He wants to know why he's out here. Shera points at the title and says next week! Shera leaves and Jessie heads up the ramp. Shera comes back out and shoves Jessie's face into the cake!

This ended the TV taping.
