OVW TV 1180: AND NEW...


This is the OVW Report for Thursday, March 24, 2022.

TONIGHT:
-Omar Amir challenges Tony Bizo for the Kentucky Heavyweight Championship!
-Jessie Godderz goes 1-on-1 with Reverend Ronnie Roberts!
-OVW Women's Champion Freya the Slaya is in action against Judi Hendrix!

"The Candidate for a Brighter Future in Wrestling
" Koda Jacobs vs. Matt Black.
Black with some rights. Off the ropes, Koda holds onto them and takes a break on the floor. Black flips him back in from the apron. Koda with an uppercut, but runs into a dropkick for 1. Koda kicks his knee and throws him into the corner. He kicks him and clubs him down across the back. Black tries to fire back, but Koda pulls him to the mat by his hair. He works over Black's left shoulder. Black starts to fire back again, but Koda throws him shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Black with some uppercuts, but Koda attacks the bad shoulder again. Black with a backdrop. Black with a clothesline, back elbow, and another clothesline. Koda kicks him, but Black rolls him up for 2. Black plants him and picks up the 3.
WINNER: BLACK by pinfall.

"Certified"
 Luke Kurtis vs. Joe Mack
.
Luke locks up Mack from behind and chops him. Mack comes back with a hard chop of his own and flings Luke across the ring. Luke hits Mack and kicks him in the corner. He wraps his leg up in the ropes and fires away some more. Another chop by Luke, but Mack chops back. Luke clubs him across the back. He hits him in the corner, but Mack grabs him by the throat for a chokeslam. Luke slides around and locks in a sleeper. Mack rams him into the corner to break it, but Luke holds on and shoves him face first into the opposite corner. He gets up on the middle turnbuckle and leaps off, but Mack catches him with a big boot and gets the 3.
WINNER: MACK by pinfall.

"The Nephilim"
D'mone Solavino & TW3 vs. 
Brent Castle & "Rudo" Raul LaMotta.
Back and forth tags. Castle is worked over, and makes a hot tag to Raul, but the ref doesn't see it. As the ref tries to get him back out, D'mone takes advantage and takes Castle down for the 3.
WINNERS: D'MONE & TW3 by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 1):
Bryan Kennison, Dancin' Stevie J, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish & Linda Kay are the ring announcers.

"The Outrunners"
: Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd 
vs. 
"Southern Discomfort": Jebidiah Blackhawk & Snake Williams Jr.
The Outrunners attack Discomfort from behind, but they quickly turn things around, knocking Turbo from the ring and working over Truth's arm. Turbo blind tags and gets hit by Snake off the ropes, but Snake still thinks Truth is legal. Turbo bulldogs Snake from behind. Truth hits a flip over neckbreaker. Turbo comes in while the ref is distracted and covers, but the ref doesn't turn around quick enough to make the pin. Turbo misses an elbow drop, then Truth misses a kneedrop. Jeb gets tagged in and fires away on his opponents. Turbo hits Snake on the outside and Truth takes Jeb down and covers him for the 3 as Turbo helps hold the feet from the outside.
WINNERS: OUTRUNNERS by pinfall.

It's time for the Good Word with everyone's favorite reverend,
Reverend Ronnie Roberts. His guest once again is the OVW National Heavyweight Champion, Mahabali Shera. Shera has a cane that he said his father gave him to travel the world and be the best with.
Jessie Godderz
runs out and says he has heard enough of this shindig and wants to fight Ronnie right now and show Shera what he will do to him at Fight Night.
"Mr. PEC-Tacular"
 Jessie Godderz (w/Shannon the Dude) vs. Reverend Ronnie Roberts.
Jessie goes after Ronnie and chokes him in the corner. Ronnie fights back and dropkicks Jessie in the face. He hits him down and Jessie takes a breather on the floor. Ronnie flips him back in from the apron. Jessie comes back and hits Ronnie, then tries to lock him in the Adonis Crab. Ronnie flips him off, then hits him with his shoe. Jessie clubs him and charges at him, but goes flying through the ropes when Ronnie moves. Ronnie kicks him in the face from the apron. Back inside, Ronnie mounts him in the corner for the 10-count punches. Jessie grabs him for a powerbomb, but Ronnie sunset flips him for 2. Jessie roars up with a hard clothesline. Jessie chokes him and locks him in a submission while yelling at Shera on commentary. Ronnie tries to fire back, but Jessie catches him with a nice dropkick for 2. He stomps on all of Ronnie's limbs, and elbows him across the back. Jessie misses a fistdrop. Ronnie kicks him and stomps a mudhole in him. Ronnie with a clothesline and back elbow. He plants Jessie and goes to run off the ropes, but Jessie trips him. He delivers an abdominal suplex, but runs into a knee from Ronnie. Ronnie goes up top, but Jessie catches him and press slams him. He locks in the Adonis Crab and Ronnie has to tap.
WINNER: GODDERZ by submission.
After the bell, Jessie still has the Crab locked in. Shera runs in the ring and Jessie rolls out. As Shera checks on Ronnie, Jessie grabs Shera's cane and breaks it across Shera's back. He then chokes him with a piece of it, leaving Shera laid out in the ring.

Steve Michaels (w/"The East End Villain" Josh Ashcraft) vs. 
"Mr. Juicy" Luscious Lawrence.
Luscious goes on the attack. He runs into a Bearhug from Steve, but hits his way out. He mounts and hits Steve in the corner. Josh jumps on the apron and it allows Steve to take control. He hits Luscious with a fall away slam. He clubs Luscious down across the back, then stomps him in the midsection. He drops a leg, then headbutts him. Steve hits a big front powerslam, then Josh jumps on the apron and yells at Steve to smash him. Steve goes up to the middle turnbuckle, but Luscious charges into him and plants him with the One Night Stand for the 3.
WINNER: LUSCIOUS by pinfall.

In the back, Mahabali Shera is being checked on by the trainer. Shera doesn't care about the injury, he just wants Jessie Godderz!

"Savage, Not Average"
 Judi Hendrix (w/Kolbe Maxx) vs. OVW Women's Champion "The Queen of the North" Freya the Slaya.
Judi goes on the offense, hitting and kicking at Freya. Freya slings her away. Kolbe gets involved, pulling Freya's head down across the top rope for Judi to roll up for 1. Freya takes off the top turnbuckle and throws Judi into it for the disqualification.
WINNER: JUDI by DQ.
After the match, Kolbe gets in with a chair. Freya turns around and boots the chair into her face. She sets Judi & Kolbe up for the top rope legdrop, but Michelle Green runs out with a mini-bat and Freya retreats.

Gustavo comes out and says that he made history with Star Rider 2 weeks ago, main eventing in a scaffold match. He says he has kept his eye on his competition, who has been vanishing in and out of the ring. The lights go out and Hy Zaya shows up. Gustavo says let's dance now...
RUSH DIVISION TITLE MATCH: "The Latin Lover" Gustavo 
(c) vs. "The Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya
.
Gustavo offers a handshake and then a rose. Hy throws it down and then both men start to throw down. Hy with a quick arm drag, then both men go for dropkicks. Quick offense. Gustavo with a headscissor faceplant for 2. Hy comes back and hits the inverted piledriver for 2. He goes up top and hits a flying legdrop for the 3!
WINNER and 
NEW RUSH CHAMPION: HY ZAYA by pinfall.

OVW TV (HOUR 2):
Bryan Kennison, Dancin' Stevie J, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, Eric Cornish & Linda Kay are the ring announcers.

"Double A"
 Arie Alexander (w/OVW Heavyweight Champion Ryan Howe) vs. Michelle Green.
Green goes on the attack, but Arie comes back with a snapmare and German suplex. Green pops back up and clotheslines Arie. Howe jumps on the apron with the hair spray. Green slaps it out of his hands. He jumps down, but trips her. Omar Amir runs out and chases Howe to the back. Green hits Arie with a twisting neckbreaker and gets the 3.
WINNER: GREEN by pinfall.
After the match, Green says this is for all the crazy ones out there. She has been called crazy for chasing her dream of being a professional wrestler and coming all the way from to Switzerland to OVW. She could have had a cushy job, but decided to chase this crazy dream instead. She calls out
Freya the Slaya. She talks in her language and Freya cracks a joke about having Google Translate. Green says she wants a shot at the Women's Championship. Freya says she is crazy to think she belongs in her league. She can't wait to hear what language Green cries in when she kicks her ***! As Green goes to leave, Freya comes back through the curtain attacking her. She rolls her in the ring and hits the big legdrop.

We hear from Crixus that the odds will be even when he faces Amon in a blindfold match.

OVW Tag Team Champion "Hustler" Deget Bundlez (w/"Elusive" Eric Darkstorm) vs. Ca$h Flo (w/
"Big Money" Dimes). 
Deget chops Ca$h, but Ca$h fires back and hits a running cross body into the corner. Ca$h hits a seated senton, but then Deget chops him and takes him down at the knee. Ca$h throws Deget into the ropes. He charges, but Deget moves and Eric pulls down the top rope for Ca$h to go crashing to the floor. Deget locks in a bearhug. Ca$h claps his ears to break free, then runs into a knee as he goes off the ropes. Ca$h with a chinbuster and inside cradle for 2. Ca$h with another roll-up for 2. Deget hits him with a big chop, but Ca$h hits a running back elbow. Eric gets on the apron, but Dimes pulls him off. Ca$h clotheslines himself & Deget both out of the ring. As the ref has his attention on Dimes, Eric comes over and hits Ca$h. Ca$h goes to suplex Deget back in the ring from the apron, but Eric hits Dimes down on the outside and runs over and holds Ca$h's foot. Deget falls on top of Ca$h and gets the 3 as Eric continues to hold the foot down.
WINNER: BUNDLEZ by pinfall.

"The Cold Blooded Killer"
 Omega vs. "Goodfella" Matt Vine.
Omega fires at Vine, but Vine comes back with a hard back elbow. He slams Omega and hits a knee. Omega fires back and hits an overhead release suplex, but Vine pops right back up. He misses a bicycle kick and Vine nails a super kick to the chin for the 3.
WINNER: VINE by pinfall.

ZDP vs. Mickey Midas vs. "Big Whiskey" Jared Kripke vs. "The Star of the Show" Star Rider.
Everyone clocks Star. ZDP flies to the outside on him, then Mickey dives out on them. Jared goes to leap out and nails Mickey & ZDP as Star scampers away. Back inside, Star leaps out on all 3 men. The match remains very fast-paced. Jared nails a flying elbow drop to ZDP for 2 as Star breaks the pin. Star throws Jared to the outside and slams ZDP. He goes up top and nails Orion's Belt for the 3.
WINNER: STAR by pinfall.
After the match, Star says he never got his rematch. He says Hy Zaya is now the champion and challenges him for what he is owed. The lights go out and Hy shows up in the ring with a contract. He throws it at Star's feet. As Star picks it up, the lights go out and Hy vanishes. Star signs it for Fight Night.

OVW KENTUCKY HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: "The Complete Package" Tony Bizo (w/"Hollyhood" Haley J & Dr. Ricky Jones) (c) vs. Omar Amir.
Omar with a side headlock. Off the ropes, Omar takes him down with a shoulder block. Omar throws him to the corner and splashes him, then hits a t-bone suplex. Bizo wants a breather on the floor. Omar follows him out and argues with Jones & Haley. As he gets in, Bizo kicks the ropes. He hits Omar, but Omar reverses and Bizo goes out for another breather. Jones & Haley are in the way again, and Bizo blindsides Omar. Back inside, Bizo works him over and Haley & Jones choke Omar from the outside. Bizo with a vertical suplex. Bizo chokes Omar with his boot. Jones hits Omar from the outside. Haley causes a distraction as Jones chokes Omar. Bizo goes for coast to coast, but Omar moves. Omar fires back and hits some big clotheslines. He splashes Bizo in the corner, then hits a belly-to-belly suplex. He hits another splash in the corner and goes up top. He hits a flying clothesline. Ryan Howe & Arie Alexander are out. Arie causes a distraction. Haley goes to hit Omar with the sock of rocks while Howe goes to hit Omar with the title. Omar moves and Haley knocks out Howe. Bizo hits the Bizo Bomb on Omar for 2. Omar comes back and hits Island Time, but he is down and can't make the cover. Jones is back on the apron and Haley is back in with the Sock of Rocks. She goes to hit Omar, but Luscious Lawrence runs out and takes it away. He hits Bizo with it, then Omar hits Island Time and picks up the 3!
WINNER and 
NEW KENTUCKY CHAMPION: OMAR by pinfall.
After the match, Omar tells Howe that becoming the Kentucky Champion makes him the new #1 contender for the Heavyweight Title and he will see him at Fight Night!

This ended the TV taping.
