OVW TV #823: "Diamonds Can Break!"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, May 27, 2015. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Eddie Diamond defends the Heavyweight Title in another open challenge, Danny Davis has a special announcement regarding the OVW TV Championship, the Congregation has a good word, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"Apostle" Jake Glasure (w/"Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles) defeated J. Best. Glasure dominates early with his power. Best makes a bit of a comeback, but Miles sneaks in the ring and cracks him from behind with the good book, alowing Glasure to pick up the 3. After the match, Miles says he is in a great mood and challenges anyone in the back to come out and face him...
"Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles (w/"Apostle" Jake Glasure) defeated the Assassin. The Assassin took Miles down with shoulder blocks and some slams. Glasure gets on the apron to distract the ref, and Miles hits Assassin with the good book, but it doesn't faze him.
Trevor Steele comes out and gets in Assassin's face and low blows him. Miles rolls him up for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Dean Hill & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, and Gilbert is the ring announcer.

Dean Hill & Gilbert Corsey are at the announce desk talking about a special announcement regarding the OVW TV Title from Danny Davis, and then we get a video from Jay Bradley!
Jay says OVW is home. A couple months ago, it was nice to be back in the Davis Arena, and to feel the vibe from the OVW fans. He got to thinking, though, that tigers don't change their stripes. He is bigger than us, better than us, and will be back in OVW for the Saturday Night Special on June 6th to take the OVW Heavyweight Title. He will prove to everyone that diamonds can break.

"Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe defeated Dre Blitz. Blitz tried to target Howe's bad knee, but Howe fought him off, and locked in the Whammy Bar. Blitz got to the ropes and then caught Howe with a samoan drop for 2. Howe rolled to the outside of the apron and shouldered Blitz in the gut. He went up top and connected with the Chart Topper for the 3 and the win.

"The Congregation": "Apostle" Jake Glasure & "Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles are back again with a good word. The good word is 'failure'. Stu says the fans are failures, and his only mistake ever was allowing a failure like Jade Dawson to be in his Congregation.
Jade comes out and says Stu is full of lies and is out here to stand up to him. Glasure attacks him from behind, and Jade gets double-teamed.
The Mexicutioner comes out and evens the odds and him & Jade run Stu & Jake off. At the Saturday Night Special, there will be a tag match between the 4 men.

Dave-Lo & Leon Shelly defeat Jason Lee & Vic the Bruiser (w/King Shane Williams) by DQ. Vic & Jason dominate most of the match, and along with Shane, continue to beat on Dave & Leon, and not listen to the ref, so the ref calls the match.
After the match, Trailer Park Trash runs out, throws powder in Vic's eyes and fights Shane & Jason.
The numbers game starts to catch up until Randy Royal runs out and chases them all away with a shovel. Trash says that Royal is here by his side tonight and will be at the Saturday Night Special as well.

Gilbert Corsey brings out the OVW Owner Danny Davis. Danny says because of Adam Revolver's actions last week, he is not here tonight. He says OVW doesn't condone or tolerate man-on-woman violence, and Revolver is not here because he has suspended him and stripped him of the OVW TV Title. He says there will be a tournament at the Saturday Night Special to crown a new champion.
Ryan Howe comes out and begs Danny to reconsider. Danny says he cannot condone Revolver's actions. Howe understands, but says he wants Revolver at the Special with the title on the line in that Last Man Standing match, so he can put Revolver in his place. Danny asks the fans, and tells Howe he will allow the match to go on, but wants Howe to promise him that he'll give it to Revolver.

OVW Southern Tag Team Champion Eric Locker (w/Josh Ashcraft & Big Jon) defeated Elvis Pridemoore. Locker dominated most of the match before putting Elvis away with the T-Bone Suplex for the 3.
After the match, Josh Ashcraft and the War Machine are shown footage by Gilbert Corsey at ringside of Synn's return from last week. Josh says he is not worried about Synn's eclectic magic tricks. He hasn't believed in magic since his Uncle Bobby pulled a quarter out of his ear when he was 5. He is not worried about ghosts of OVW past. He has done everything he said he would, getting national exposure at Jeff Jarrett's expense, and getting tag team gold for the War Machine. He will stay on top and there is nothing that Jim Cornette or Synn can do about it!

OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE OPEN CHALLENGE: Eddie Diamond (c) defeated "The Chosen One" Mitch Huff. This was a very good back and forth match. EFD tried to lock in the Crossfire, but Huff got to the ropes. Huff then connected with a super kick for 2. Huff set up for another one, but EFD ducked, dropped Huff, and locked in the Crossfire again for the tapout.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

OVW Southern Tag Team Champion Big Jon (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeated "Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe. Jon targeted and worked over Howe's bad knee for most of the match. Howe tried to fire back, but the knee went out on him, and Jon finished him off with the big chokeslam for the 3.

As always, thanks for reading!
