Without further ado:
Here we go...
Pre-Show Dark Matches:
Referee AJ sent the rest of the War Machine, Josh Ashcraft, Adam Wylde, & Eddie Diamond to the back. This match was an excellent 5* quality match. In the end, Huff connected with a super kick, but Locker managed to get his foot on the rope. Huff went for another, but Locker caught his foot and threw him up on his shoulders for the german suplex, but Huff rolls Locker up. Locker rolls through and holds onto the ropes for the 3.
That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching
the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report.
Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings)
and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.
Dean Hill & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, and Gilbert is the ring announcer.
Adam Revolver defeats Jade Dawson. Revolver had the early offense, but Jade started firing back and went up top. "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles comes out yelling at Jade, and Jade dives out onto him. While Jade is hitting Stu, Adam grabs a chair. The ref is checking on Miles as Adam blasts Jade from behind with the chair to get the 3. After the match, Stu calls Jade a nothing and continues to kick him while he's down.
We see a video replay from last week of Randy Royal winning the OVW Television Title from Ryan Howe, thanks to the betrayal of Jessie Belle. We then see that Royal will defend against the Mexicutioner tonight.
We see videos from Big Jon & Eric Locker talking about the War Games match Saturday and what to expect from them.
We see a video replay from last week of Rob Conway telling Danny Davis not to shut down OVW, and to team with him against the Outcasts, in which Danny agrees.
We see a video of Dean Hill & Danny Davis talking in the ring about the future of OVW. Danny says it has nothing to do with him just turning 63, but about the young men who don't respect the business. He says nothing lasts forever, but a decision on whether the doors remain open or are shut forever will be made after the match.
We see videos from Adam Wylde & Eddie Diamond talking about the War Games match Saturday and what to expect from them.
Backstage, Rump Thump is asked about the 4th man, and says he would love to be the 4th man for Team OVW. Josh Ashcraft asks him if he is serious, and introduces him to their 4th man, Adam Revolver. Rump is hit from behind by Revolver with a steel chair.
Josh Ashcraft comes out with Big Jon and says to let that be a lesson to anyone in the locker room thinking about possibly being the 4th man for the opposing team. Now they will make it 4-on-2 after Jon destroys Adam Wylde.
Big Jon (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeats "The Standout" Adam Wylde. Jon powers through Wylde to start, but Wylde comes flying back. Wylde knocks Jon off his feet as Josh distracts Wylde. Jon gets back up and hits Wylde with a jackhammer for the 3.
Eric Locker, Adam Revolver, & Trevor Steele run out and continue to beat on Wylde.
Mitch Huff & Eddie Diamond run out to help the odds, before the Mexicutioner runs out and cleans house.
Mex says that he will be the 4th man and will be entering as the new OVW Television Champion!
Gilbert Corsey is in the ring, and he brings out the Outcasts: Jason Lee, Vic the Bruiser, & NEW OVW TV Champion Randy Royal. He asks Royal where Jessie Belle is, and he says she went through a lot of trauma the last few weeks and is on a much needed vacation. Jason & Vic both talk about their tag match and say they will end the careers of Rob Conway & Danny Davis. Gilbert says Randy started all of this and asks why he isn't in the match. Randy says in his weird contract, he doesn't have to defend the TV Title at shows that are not on TV. Therefore, he doesn't have to even be there, but Vic & Jason are on top of it. Gilbert says he does have his first title defense tonight, however, just a little bit later.
Leon Shelly talks about being a ladies' man and how he can go all night long.
Leon Shelly defeated Elvis Pridemoore. Elvis had the early advantage, but Leon catches him with a dropkick and hits a high-flying cross body for the 3. After the match, Elvis loses his cool and hits the steel steps and throws a chair into them.
We see another video from Dapper Dan Van Zandt. He says that he got the outcasts and misfits and made them his brother and sister, and soon the Van Zandt Family Circus will be coming to town.
Eddie, Mitch, & Wylde will have to find another partner unless Mex is okay to go on Saturday, which doesn't look good.
This ended the TV taping.
Post-Show Dark Matches:
The special July 4th edition of the Saturday Night Special: War Games is this Saturday! Come see the 15 foot high steel cage constructed as Eddie Diamond, Mitch Huff, Adam Wylde, and if they can find a 4th man, take on Adam Revolver and War Machine's Eric Locker, Big Jon, & Trevor Steele! Danny Davis will team with "Ironman" Rob Conway to face the Outcasts' Jason Lee & Vic the Bruiser, and Danny will decide after the match whether he keeps OVW open or not! Jade Dawson meets Rev. Stuart Miles in a street fight, Jay Bradley returns to take on Leon Shelly, plus more! Special start time of 7PM!
As always, thanks for reading!
I have been a longtime fan of OVW and wrestling in general, therefore, I understand the need for storylines. That being said, what's with all the drama? Elvis Pridemore is tearing up furniture, Vic the Bruiser is running amok, Randy Royal is kidnapping women, and now Leon Shelley is acting like the black Ron Jeremy. (Google it) Plus, we never did find out what was in the box that was delivered to Eddie Diamond. I'm not sure whether I'm watching OVW or Jerry Springer. Lindsay Lohan doesn't have this much drama. So please guys, how about more wrestling and less BS.
ReplyDeleteThere were a ton of videos and extra things last night that were designed to help build up Saturday's Special, so I agree that the action was light. I think OVW may be going in a different direction currently, to try and stay competitive. Also, Leon Shelly reminds me more of Tim Meadows' "Ladies' Man" character from SNL.
