OVW TV #899: "Royal's CHOSEN Partner"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, November 9, 2016. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, the fallout from this past Saturday's SNS, a look ahead to next week's historic episode #900, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Justin Smooth defeats Billy O & "The 50/50 Boys": Kevin Giza & Lucas Jacobs. Smooth is built up as a monster here that can't be stopped in a 3-on-1 handicap match. He hits Street Justice on Giza, a big boot to Billy, and a press slam on Jacobs and gets the 3.

"The Prince of Angst" Jade Dawson defeats Carlos Gabriel. Jade picks up the win after planting Carlos with a DDT for the 3 as he appears to go "darker" with his character.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey Ron Hed are on commentary, and Ron is the ring announcer.

Big Jon defeats Ca$h Flo (w/Josh Ashcraft & "The Legacy of Brutality"Big Zo & "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya). Jon & Ca$h exchange blows, but Ca$h takes advantage due to outside interference from Josh & the Legacy. Ca$h locks Jon in a sleeper hold, but Jon reverses and locks one in. Josh gets on the apron, and Jon goes after him. Ca$h comes back at Jon, but Jon turns and sets him up for the chokeslam.
The Legacy enters the ring and attacks Jon to cause the DQ. The Legacy triple team Jon until "The Pope" Elijah Burke runs out!
Elijah helps clear the ring and then says he has been watching OVW TV as he always does, and knows that Jon needs a partner. So going into the historic episode 900, Pope isn't asking, he is begging to partner with Jon. Jon shakes his hand and accepts!

Rev. Stuart Miles & the Mexicutioner come to the ring and call out "The Elite".
Stu & Mex want a rematch. Adam Revolver says they already won, why should they give them a rematch? Stu says they cheated, but they will sweeten the pot. They will let them pick the stipulation. Ted McNaler accepts, but has some advice. He says they should ALWAYS keep one eye open as he throws powder in Mex's eyes. Adam & Ted then attack Stu and say a tables match for next week sounds good. They get a table and put Stu on it, but Mex recovers and slams Ted off the top rope. Stu gets off the table and hits Adam and gets him on the table. He goes up to jump on Adam, but Ted recovers and grabs Adam as they retreat to the back.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: Trevor Steele (c) defeats "Wrestling's Rockstar" Diamond (w/Annie) by DQ. Steele is in control early on, but with Diamond on Steele's shoulders, Diamond's foot accidentally knocks out referee Joe Wheeler. Diamond rolls Steele up, but there's no ref. Steele hits Diamond down, and grabs a ladder. Annie tries to step in and keep him from using it, but Steele shoves her down with the ladder. Diamond gets up and goes after Steele, and then uses the ladder on him, but Joe is back up and calls for the bell.
After the match, Dean Hill comes out and tells Steele that this sort of thing has been going on for the last month. He says next week, in hi-def, Steele will defend the OVW TV Title in a 6-man scramble ladder match! It will be Steele, Diamond, Tyler Matrix, and 3 other men (later revealed at intermission to be Robbie Walker, Tony Gunn, & Justin Smooth). The winner will be the TV Champ in hi-def for the 900th TV taping!

OVW WOMEN'S TITLE: Rebel (c) defeats Callie. Rebel picks up the win after the spear and the Rebel Yell submission.
After the match, Rebel is interviewed by Gilbert Corsey. She says she told everyone last week how much this title meant to her. Next week, she faces ODB, and has to give her respect on being the 1st ever OVW Women's Champion, and honestly she is a little nervous. She will be ready though, bringing Southern sass, country class, and kicking ***!

"The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal & "The Chosen One" Mitch Huff defeat "Shotgun" Tony Gunn & "The Show Stealer" Rocco Bellagio. A very good match. Huff goes right after Rocco for revenge following the time he has missed since their match from a few months back. After a lot of good back-and-forth, Huff catches Rocco with an Athlete's Foot, and Royal nails him with a chain-wrapped fist for the 3.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix, "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles, & the Mexicutioner defeat "Dancin" Deonta Davis & "The Van Zandt Family Circus": Ringmaster & Little Damion. This match sees a dance-off with Deonta, Matrix, & Stu, as well as a mannequin challenge pose with Deonta, Stu, Mex, & Matrix. In the end, Ringmaster gets frustrated with Deonta, and him & Damion leave him alone. Stu & Mex chop him down, and Matrix hits the swanton for the 3.

NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE #900 WILL BE IN HI-DEF and a SPECIAL 90 MINUTE EPISODE!

Randy Royal vs. Rocco Bellagio (c) for the OVW Heavyweight Title
Big Jon & Elijah Burke vs. The Legacy of Brutality (c) for the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles
