OVW TV #901: "Talking Turkey"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, November 23, 2016. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at In this episode, the fallout from last week's episode 900 in HD that includes a big announcement for the next SNS, a superstar in a turkey suit, Tyler Matrix defends the OVW TV Title against former champion Trevor Steele, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Big Jon defeats "Jewish-American Star" Elia Baratz. Elia gets in a little offense, but Jon squashes him in the corner and connects with the chokeslam for the 3.

Scarlet (w/Little Damion) defeats Callie with a side slam.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at

Gilbert Corsey, Ron Hed, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary and Ron is the ring announcer.

The Metal Master defeats Adam Slade. A pretty quick match that sees Metal get the win via submission to the STF.

As Gilbert Corsey, Shannon the Dude, & Ron Hed run down what to expect on tonight's show, Gilbert mentions that someone will be wearing a turkey suit. Tony Gunn comes out and says he is not wearing it. Gilbert says he agreed upon it this past weekend in E-Town if he didn't defeat Tyler Matrix for the OVW TV Title. Tony says he will not, but Gilbert says his job depends on it.

BLINDFOLD MATCH: "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles (w/The Mexicutioner) defeats Adam Revolver (w/Ted McNaler).
Ted comes out with two broken fingers wrapped up on one of his hands. Adam tries to cheat by removing the blindfold at one point while Ted had the ref distracted. Later in the match, a funny part where Ted tries to get involved again, and gets hit back and forth by Stu & Adam, who doesn't realize what he's doing. Stu gets Adam with a fisherman's suplex for the 3. After the match, Ted throws powder in Mex's eyes again, and Ted & Adam throw Stu to the outside. They then attack Mex, and try to break his fingers in return.

Gilbert Corsey brings out Randy Royal. Randy says before we go another further, he wants AJ Lucio to come to the ring. He asks AJ if he didn't count to 3. AJ says he did. Randy then calls Rocco Bellagio out to bring him his title.
Rocco comes out and says he is still champion, like it or not. Joe Wheeler also comes out and says he was taken to Plungetown, so as senior official, he called for the DQ, and his decision is final. Everyone starts arguing, and Gilbert yells at them all to stop. He says Dean Hill isn't here, but he sent a "fixer" to take care of this.
Danny Davis comes out and says that the next Saturday Night Special will be called Christmas Chaos on December 3rd, and Rocco will defend against Royal once again, but this time it is falls count anywhere and no disqualification!

"The Legacy of Brutality"Big Zo & Ca$h FloCa$h Flo (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeat Carlos Gabriel & ???.
Carlos and his partner do not get a formal introduction. They actually get some quick offense in early, but are quickly outmatched by the Legacy. The L.O.B. squash the unnamed partner between them to pick up the victory, then Ca$h gives him another chop after the match.

Dapper Dan Van Zandt (w/"The Van Zandt Family Circus": Scarlet, Ringmaster & Little Damion) defeats Lucas Jacobs. Dan gets the win after hitting 2 death valley drivers. He hits a 3rd after the match, and then sets up for a 4th before Billy O & Kevin Giza run out to make the save.

Justin Smooth defeats "Shotgun" Tony Gunn.
Gunn reluctantly comes out. Smooth has control early, but Gunn comes back after taking out Smooth's knee and focuses on the leg. Smooth comes back, strips the turkey suit off Gunn, and hits Street Justice for the 3.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix (c) defeats Trevor Steele.
Steele controls most of the match with the size and strength advantage, regardless of Tyler's attempts to try to gain momentum. Tyler catches Steele with a pele kick and goes for the swanton, but Steele moves. Steele locks in the chicken wing, but Tyler kicks off the ropes and flips over Steele, rolling him up for the 3.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

ELIMINATION MATCH: "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stu Miles, The Metal Master, Jade Dawson, Billy O, & Kevin Giza defeat "The Van Zandt Family Circus": Dapper Dan Van Zandt, Ringmaster & Little Damion & "The Legacy of Brutality"Big Zo & Ca$h FloCa$h Flo (w/Josh Ashcraft). Giza fires away at Ca$h, but Ca$h hits him with a hard clothesline, 2 hard chops, and a turnbuckle powerbomb for the 3 to eliminate him. Billy O is in, but gets squashed with a Legacy sandwich for the 3 to be eliminated. Metal eliminates Damion after a tapout to the STF. Jade gets eliminated after a Dapper Dan & Ringmaster death valley driver/flying elbow finisher. Zo eliminates Metal after a piledriver. This leaves Stu against Zo, Dan, & Ringmaster. (*NOTE: At some point, Ca$h disappeared from the match, so we are not sure what happened). Ringmaster accidentally spits the green mist in Zo's eyes and gets DQ'd to be eliminated, then Stu rolls Zo up for the 3 to eliminate him. Stu hits Dan with a big boot and a "Hulkster" legdrop for the 3.

As always, thanks for reading!
